I was staying there for my birthday trip and they made my day totally. Friendly and helpful staff, nice room and many great surprises. It was so touching when I stepped into my room and found a birthday cake and a letter from the hotel. Thank you very much! I definitely come back here next time for another stay! :)
Good location, nice hotel.”
Location was fine, a few streets back from main strip but easy to get to the main areas and ferry stops. Hotel has nice facilities, the roof top thai terrace restaurant is a MUST! Our room was quite noisy, being on the front road - But a simple request to change to the hotel manager had us quicky enjoying some peace :-) The staff were great at assisting booking tours.
Beautiful hotel with great service”
Loved this hotel. Great service, nice room and great view from roof
The capacity to delight and to disappoint”
The Palace Hotel has a number of contradictions. The hotel is well appointed and well-located, but there are also disappointments. For instance, recommending that guests not drink the tap water and providing 2 small bottles of water free of charge for day 1 and then presuming to charge triple the street price for water thereafter is terribly disappointing. Also having to ask the housekeeping staff on two separate evenings to bring new bathrobes when the old ones were taken away is a disappointment. The chicken burgers ordered via room service on day 1 were a delight; the same order on day 4 was not - it was soggy and limp, and the salad was old. However staff going out of their way to satisfy unusual requests at short notice (which they did on two occasions) was delightful. In summary I would recommend that you book the Palace Hotel, but that you not necessarily insist on consistently perfect all of the time. THe smiles and genuine concern for client welfare shown by the staff more t
friendly staff&great location”
our stay at the palace hotel was very pleasant. great customer service and the hotel is located in a center. you can access anywhere by foot.(super market was only 2 minutes away) . only the sad part was the amenities(which was low quality, which was not a local product.)
Excellent find ”
Got upgraded to a massive junior suite beautiful design wonderful view extremely spacious room excellent location very clean room efficient friendly staff and driver to Airport Maltese hospitality at its best certainly will return
Ok but not 5 star”
We opted for the hotel recommended taxi service to collect us from the airport it was a good value efficient service. Hotel is in a good location 5 mins walk to ferry and buses to valetta. The restaurants at the bay in st jullien were only a 10min walk away. Our superior room was nice and spacious but the noise insulation was poor. The bed was comfy but not the double we had ordered. The bathroom did have a door but the walls finished two foot from the ceiling. The shower was very small, not powerful enough and smelt of sewers everyday, some tiles in the bathroom had been replaced badly. Breakfast was not up to standard. pre-cooked eggs past their best and Every day we came down to plates running very low on food. The croissants were very small and dried out, this was made even more annoying as I saw large fresh ones to be purchased in the bar area! The sports massage I had in the spa with Virdin was excellent and the whole team seemed very friendly. The gym was modern and very well equipped. The indoor pool area was lovely to sit and relax by but you couldn't swim as the pool was too small. The roof had fantastic views, a good sun deck and infinity pool. Ignore the website and don't bank on being able to play tennis here, it needs pre-booking and they don't have equipment to offer you. Reception staff were mixed some were very friendly and helpful others disinterested. I was particularly annoyed on the last day to be told we couldn't keep our room till 2pm, we asked twice the previous day and told to wait till the morning. On the day they said they'd allocated our room and it needed cleaning. In peak season I'd understand this but the hotel was quiet and from checking online had plenty of discounted rooms available for that night. Not very 5 star.
We spent one week in September 2012 at the Palace hotel in Sliema. The hotel looked exactly as the pictures on the website. The room was nice and clean, with a comfortable bed. The facilities were excellent, and the roof top pool was very nice. We had dinner at the TemptAsian restaurant which was also very good.
Great location friendly staff”
Arriving at the hotel they had not received confirmation from Agoda that a 50% deposit was already paid resulting in me having to phone my bank first and the hotel to ring agoda. The staff are very friendly, rooms nice enough and restaurants of good quality (especially the Asian restaurant on the top floor).
Great place, great staff”
Great hotel. Well maintained with a friendly and helpfull staff who are very knowledgable about the island features. Location is good, just a 5 min.walk to the harbour/ferry/watertaxi's etc. Only downside is one has to walk UP the hill to get back to the hotel and last ferry/watertaxi from Valetta is early in the evening. We loved the breakfast and, having had a extensive lunch outside everyday, had a very nice diner at the terrace of the hotel's restaurant "Talk of Town"almost every night: Very good food, wine and drinks at a decent price and very friendly staff. The beds were very comfortable, only downside was the small balcony, lousy view and small bathroom with low waterpressure in the shower. Room was kept clean very well and transport from and to the airport was arranged and performed flawless. Frontdesk arranged to excursions for us (one to Gozo with the hop on/hop off bus and one private tour by limo)that worked out excellent and were very reasonably priced. The rooftop pool may have had very cold water, the sunbathing area was great with comfortable and clean sunbeds and a well equpped bar. We will definitely come back to this hotel on afollow up visit tto this lovely island.
Lovely hotel in a great location”
the hotel is very well located not far from all important things. most of the rooms have nice views! the staff isn't realy frendly. however almost all rooms are new an big, offering everything to feel well. the bed is fantastic, very similar to the bed w hotel use to have! great! we had a fantastic rest. the infinity pool on the top of the hotel is amazing and the rest area big. the thai restaurant also on the top of the hotel is a must! perfect food and very nice hambiente. will for sure stay again there.
Short stay for two.”
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel but that was mainly due to its location to other areas. It looks a five star hotel when you walk into the lobby, but it doesn't manage to maintain the same standards throughout. We had booked through Agoda so where happy with what we got for our money, but don't expect to pay the standard hotel rates and get the same value for money.
A very nice experience.”
We had heard such horror stories about hotels on Malta that we were prepared for the worst; so this hotel was a very pleasant surprise. The good service began even before arrival as several questions we had were answered promptly and helpfully by e-mail. The pools and exercise room (shared with the Victoria Hotel) are also very good.
It is a 5-star deluxe hotel with an indoor swimming pool as well as a top floor pool deck, sauna, steam room, and restaurants. Modern décor, very comfortable beds, good service, breakfast was not included with our rate. We were very lucky because they upgraded us from a standard room to a deluxe room with a balcony and sea view, very kind of them! If you want to swim for exercise, best time for the pool is in the morning! Buses are just a short walking distance away. We highly recommend this hotel. It was worth every penny and Euro!
The common parts of the hotel are very nice and elegant and everything is pretty new. The rooms are very large and comfortable, we had a room at the forth floor with a nice view on the see and a small terrace that is very handy to relax a bit in the sun after breakfast. We stayed in November but the sun was shining and we also could take advantage from the beautiful terrace on the last floor that has an impressive swimming pool that ends apparently in the void but is only a very clever architectural effect. The people are extremely nice and helpful for any need that you can have. The breakfast is really fantastic and with the sun it is beautiful to eat outside on nice and comfortable tables. The restaurant on the last floor is an experience that is worth to try in my opinion, they serve very good Asian food (the sushi is great) in a very suggestive environment: the view on the enlightened town is beautiful and the place is very stylish and elegant. It is possible also to have separated (by nice and light curtains) tables for groups of people also with sofas for a nice after dinner time. In November the terraces were closed in the evening but I imagine that in summer would be even better to eat outside.
Not bad a hotel”
We got a very good price from agoda - $68 with breakfast!. This is a new hotel, located a short walking distance from the street sea front. Also a short walking distance to several famous restaurants, ferry terminal. Also easy to get around - there are several buses that go to Valetta and St Julian. Room is small but comfortable. Make sure you are not allocated a room with window facing inside the hotel - it can be very hot because the hotel only switches on aircon system in the summer!. Breakfast is plentiful, but the quality is so and so.
This hotel lives absolutely up to its five-star reputation and Agoda.com is able to secure most competitive rates which make it excellent value for money. The hotel is located on top of a gentle slope about five minutes from the swinging waterfront of Sliema, where there are bus terminus connecting you to major touristy spots to the Island and ferries to Valleta the capital. There are hip-hop buses and water tours on the waterfront as well. Most convenient for tourists. The slope poses a minor challenge for people who have difficulties with walking uphill on narrow roads particularly on a hot sunny day or when the weather is inclement. But this is only a short 5-minute walk in any case.
Not a 5* Hotel”
This is not a 5* hotel. It's fine, but its not 5* and shouldn't claim to be I felt really ripped off. Negatives: The bed was so uncomfortable, the gym had broken glass in. Positives: roof top pool was nice and breakfast and staff good It's not an awful hotel but not 5* by any stretch of the imagination and therefore hugely disappointing when I'd booked it as a treat.
Good place to stay!”
Very nice people at reception, good Wi-Fi, good location. Hotel in need of refurb
Was under the impression that I would be entitled to one transfer from the airport to the hotel but after waiting an hour took a taxi at my own expense so that was not a good experience.
