Location is stunning. Rooms are nice and clean, comfy. Breakfast is average unless you like cereal from those small boxes and most of all the service from the kitchen staff was appalling. Only allowed one egg for breakfast and its advertised as a FULL BUFFET BREAKFAST. End up speaking with the new GM who was lovely and he has big plans for Treasure Island. Gym facilities, etc. I was there scoping out a possible location for our company who runs Fitness Holidays. We end up going to the Coral Coast instead which was amazing. I WOULD recommended Treasure Island if you are looking for a small quiet island to relax. If you are not a fussy eater you should be okay.
Highly recommended but pay attention to the food criticisms on all the reviews.”
As other reviews mention the staff are phenomenally friendly and kids will love the kids club. We enjoyed our stay and met many people who were repeat visitors to the island so that says a lot. The only criticisms are that a few people we talked to had errors on their bills including us so we recommend keeping your own tally as every thing is charged to your room. The staff in the office can be forgetful and would promise to do things that weren't done so we needed to push a little to get things done. Not sure if that is just a Fiji thing but the wait staff generally were very attentive. The buffet food for adults was pretty good but the kids buffet was flatly terrible most nights. Bland pastas and dry tasteless chicken that is heartbreaking when you pay high end Australian prices for a meal your kid won't eat and even we could not eat. Other than that we had a good time and would recommend Treasure Island
The resort is lovely, rooms are basic but clean. Staff are wonderful, so friendly and welcoming. The nightly entertainment was always fun. Only downside I’d say is the food. It’s very expensive and not amazing for the price. Being vegetarian as well really limited our options. The website makes you think all the food options are available every night but that’s not the case. They only open once a week from what I can tell. Bring plenty of snacks with you, maybe fill up on breakfast, skip lunch and eat dinner. Other than the food the resort was lovely and I’d recommend it.
Nice to stay for quite”
It's a small island hotel! Walking around is just 10mins! All stuffs are nice! Say "Bula " to you each time when meet! And willing to help! The island location doesn't have nice corals and fishes! But if you had too many activists on other big island, and looking for few days quite stay & down Ng nothing, here is a place you are looking for! Food is less options, but all cooked nice! Price is not cheap, but same expensive for every islands! Worthy to come here for doing nothing!
Island with the most beautiful sunset and sunrise! ”
The island is beautiful, the people are friendly.. only 1 disappointment during my stay. We wanted to have the BBQ dinner. On the day we arrive, we were told we had to booked a day in advance, so we told the staff to book us for dinner the following night, giving our room number even. When we arrived for dinner on the 2nd night there, we were told they didn't have our reservations for BBQ that night. They should look at how they can prevent such mistakes in future... it would otherwise have been a perfect, perfect trip! The welcome at the beach with guitar and ukulele and send off is just perfect...! Henry and the staff made us feel welcome the moment we stepped on the Island too! Oh ! The little gift shop certainly has nice things too.. check it out if you are there. The daily activities are also fabulous... love the cooking demo, especially.
Big room, clear water, family-friendly”
We were welcomed by staff singing. The bure is big and clean. Environment nearby is relaxing and beautiful. Clear water which is good for snorkelling. Kid club and activities such as handicrafts making, cooking lesson are provided. Para-sailing is value for money. We can see sea turtles floating on the water while para-sailing. However, some of the performers has shown unhappy faces while performing their dance at dinner time. It makes like they are forced to do so and I can't feel entertained. Half board meal plan is not suggested. High surcharges were applied in many occasions such as New Year Eve buffet dinner. Planned NYE special programme cancelled without notice which made me experience what Fiji style is. To conclude, hardware is good but software still room for improvement.
Not a holiday for a foodie”
Awesome location. Great relaxing holiday. Many activities to do on the island that they provide such as feeding turtles, SUP, snorkelling etc Really friendly staff. Only major downside was that food was expensive for what it was, didn't taste really good and there are no options as you're on an island.
What a Treasure!”
Had a wonderful stay. Most of the negative things that were mentioned previously seems to have either been resolved or steps have been taken to fix/improve on them. For e.g., staff could be seen cleaning up the dead corals on the beach in the morning. The beach views are incredible. Stayed in a Premium Beachfront Bure, but did not get my requested Bure. So maybe consider before paying additional for the upgrade. Although all Bures have sea views, some are closer to the beach with unblocked views than others. So a bit of a lottery to determine which Bure u are offered. Staff are polite and customer oriented, mostly. Overall a fantastic stay!
Family focused resort, but still fantastic for two travelling as friends who are not that tolerant of kids. There's a good kids program which keeps kids entertained and out of the way. Beachcomber island (party island) is just a short boat trip away, so you can go have some drinks over there then return to the peaceful tranquility of Treasure Island. Great jump off point for day trips in the Mamanucas. Really fantastic staff, many of whom learned our names and made us feel extremely welcome and looked after.
Almost off the grid Fiji ...”
Beautiful location and fantastic snorkeling ... the first night was a bit iffy dinner-wise but after we learned the ropes we were like a family of piglets trotting up for the buffet 3x a day. There are no tvs and internet is limited, but by the end of the ten days we were having naps after breakfast, daily massages, and so relaxed we barely made it into the sea for our daily sunburn and reef shark spotting sessions. Highly recommended. The staff were lovely and it is very child friendly (typical Fijian style) ...
The best family holiday ever”
We absolutely loved our time at Treasure. We had a bure right on the beach (#28). The staff were very friendly and loved kids. Lots to do (if you want to) but a beautiful place to do nothing too. Food a little expensive, but that's to be expected on an island. We can't wait to go back Chris, Heather and Willow
Wonderful few days in paradise!”
The staff were so welcoming and attentive, and great with our daughter. The location is stunning and the resort is well set up. It’s so great for families, however we were a little confused at first about the kids eating times and options. It would be better if we could all eat together with more options. But overall we would recommend and return!
Treasure Island was one of the best experience we have staff was very Friendly Great food Highly Recommend for Family's with young children's.
Great Stay for family”
Great swimming pool for all age group. great view and relaxing environment. Love the traditional Fijian buffet. Great place for snorkeling and swimming. We even have chaqnce to see Turtle release!!
loved this place to bits the staff right down to general managers happy to talk and meet with you. ”
John F grounds keeper lovely guy. Koli in the bar remembers you by name and what you like to drink. loved nightlife entertainment. Go this island and staff give you exactly what your looking for . Weather its with your children or not. Excellent value for money we are going back .
Truly beautiful island. Food is expensive so take snacks. Free snorkeling eqpt and kids club.”
Watch out for cost of transfers... they keep room rates low but sting on the transfers. Take plenty of snacks as food on the island is very expensive. If you get a room rate that includes breakfast it will save a lot of money.
This was probably one of the best holidays we've ever had. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, it was an experience we'll never forget. Staff were friendly and it really felt like we were part of one big family. They were attentive with our young daughter and even pulled over a sun lounger for her to sleep on one night during dinner when she dropped off after we'd been travelling all day. We had a premium beachfront bure, which was simple but idyllic and perfect for our needs - something amazing about waking up to the ocean each morning. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful island ”
Location : beautiful island very close to mainland. Make it an easy and fast transfer. beautiful reef and turquoise clear water. Transfer: easy transfer from airport (45min) I suggest you use the private transfer as much faster. Though our driver was not here on arrival and have to wait 45min. Not good enough Food & beverage : food is very average, not enough Fijian meal except one night lovo buffet that was excellent. The meal plan that you are forced in is way too expensive for what you get ($277/day/person) We only purchased one even though they said it was not allowed. The quality and variety of food is poor. kid buffet is appalling ( kids don't eat fries for lunch and dinner ) Room: clean and good size. All with sea view. Beachfront are excellent. Staff: great Kids club: fantastic. Kids go on boat to snorkel fish feeding and great activities Overall: great island but food is a big let down.
Treasure Island - exactly what is says on the tin”
Our best stay in FIJI! Great place to relax with easy access beac h from bungalow and super staff! We really enjoyed the island and our holiday. With Helicopter Pad on the island we could book our transfer to mainland. Best Holiday EVER!
Great island vacation with fantastic staff and facilities”
Only wish we had been able to stay longer. We were really happy witht the rooms and facilities. Kids are well catered for with the friendly staff operating the kids club and lots of activities to enjoy. Food options for the kids are simple but offer plenty of variety. Adults have a few food options to choose from - buffet, A la carte, beach side BBQ or teppanyaki, or their private restaurant. We ate from the buffet and a la carte menu and both were quite good. Plenty of water sport activities to get involved in, including motorised craft and free paddle boards, kayaks, snorkling etc. We enjoyed the free fish feeding/viewing trip on the island's glass bottom boat and a highlight was beeing able to view the release of 5 Hawksbill turtles which are part of the island's protection and breeding program. Very relaxed atmosphere and just an idyllic island location, perfect for families or couples.
