Amazing Onsen Experience!”
Our first time at a Japanese Onsen Ryokan and the customer service by the staff is exceptional! A++ to every minute detail put in to our stay at Taketoritei Maruyama including breakfast choices, Kaiseki dinner, reception to help us book the JR Express Bus from Arima Onsen to JR Namba OCAT and the Onsen reservation process was as simple as 1 2 3. We had 45mins for each reservation and was more than enough for the both of us. Ryokan cleanliness was A++. Had 2 free mini pouch bags to take home too! Thank You so much Taketoritei Maruyama. Definitely highly recommended and will be back again!!

The private onsen was an unique experience”
The staff of the ryokan was very friendly and helpful. But it will be great, if they could mention in the email that the ryokan was not that close to the station and it will be recommended to book the hotel free shuttle car in advance, as for the people who never were in Arima Onsen before. The restaurants in Arima Onsen are closed very early, and the most restaurants are fully occupied, it will be recommended to book a table in advance as well. The private onsen of the ryokan was a wonderful and unique experience, everything was well organized. Overall its definitely recommended!

The staffs were very nice and helpful”
We were there a bit early because we didn't know that the check in time in Japan is 15:00. So, after a waiting, the staffs came to apologised and led us to the room. They always practiced their Japanese gesture and manner to us, very polite. My fiancé got some souvenirs and a ride to the elevator. The room was quite big, 10 Tatami mats with the living room, toilet, bathtub, balcony and more!! The private Onsen can be booked for 45 mins/time, very nice scene of the forest hill when you're in Onsen. The hotel location can be walk from the Arima Onsen station. Along the way up hill are some diners. However, you can use the hotel transportation. During our stay, we got a lot of problems (555), eg. our suitcase was lock and cannot be open, asking the way to Himeji Castle by using Kansai Through Pass, asking them to help on our brand new camera bought in Kobe because all the menu was in Japanese. Every staffs were really nice and helpful in any troubles. Great experience. Really love this place especially the lovely staffs. TRULY RECOMMENDED. Ohh! You also can enjoy making of Moji every morning at 08:30, tasty!!

Pleasant surprise!”
Meal: We visited for our honeymoon. During dinner the restaurant prepared a nice fish head to celebrate for us! Very thoughtful of them. Breakfast is sumptuous. i fall in love with their earthenware.. Location: further from town, but you could get the tourist office to call the ryokan to pick you from town. and ryokan could send you to anywhere you wish in Arima. Friendly staff, Chinese speaking staff is more than English one. Onsen is all that you pay for. Managed to try 3 outdoor onsen. Quiet, peaceful, privacy. do expect bugs and leaves as it is outdoor and onsen is not covered. You should experience the public bath too! authentic Japanese style. For one night stay, you don't get to explore the ryokan much. Room view is extremely normal and not breathtaking. i booked a big room (golden week, everything expensive) and a bit disappointed with the view. FujiKawaguchiko has much breathtaking view.

Fantastic stay made more pleasant by staff and owner”
This is my second stay. This time with group of 8 friends. We booked 4 rooms. 2 renovated, 2 older rooms. Prior to the date I've emailed them asking to eat together and enquiry about private Onsen rooms. The staff replied with perfect English and solve my issues easily. They even make suggestions based on our time schedule, which is thoughtful. They even remember my food allergy (without prompting)! This Ryokan might look a bit well-wore, but if you stayed at the renovated rooms (2/F & 4/F) you wouldn't know it. And the entire staff and owner are so welcoming. I couldn't think of a better place to stay in Arima Onsen

AWESOME PLACE! RECOMMENDED!”
I fell in love with this place! Will definitely stay longer when I come back here again! Only stayed for 1 night but we made reservation for the private onsen times! It was great! We booked maruyama room with dinner & breakfast and it was super filling! Most staffs speak understandable English and the owner of the place was even the one who drove us to the ryoken from arima tourist information! Worthwhile stay! :D

Fantastic relax ”
Oh I love this place, staffs are friendly n super good service. Meal was great too. Upon our arrival, we never make any phone call for pick up Cos we don’t have auto roam service so we try to walk up the slope to find this hotel. But half way we saw their mini van, to my surprise that their staff stop at the road side and ask an I their guest and with my name on their list. This handsome staff quickly u-turn his van to pick us to the hotel, I’m so impressed with their good service, thumbs up 👍🏻! Never forget this incident in my life .. Will sure come back again to this hotel for onsen relax. Oh yes, thanks another staff ~ Justin! his service was super good and reply promptly when I leave down message. I love Osaka, I love this arima onsen. 👍🏻

Best place ever!!!”
I could not fault anything while I stayed in this ryokan. This is so far the best place ever and I enjoyed every single minutes. The staffs are very friendly and we felt so warmth from their professional service. You must stay in this ryokan if you go to arima onsen!!

One of the best onsen hotels in Arima”
The best feature that hotel offers is the 'private outdoor onsen bath' which can be booked only by hotel guests. As a couple, we really enjoyed the convenience and privacy of a private bath, since most hotels in Arima offers public onsen bath only. Breakfast offers both Japanese and western. A good selection of food and very tasty. Only thing unsatisfactory is that towels in the rooms are a bit worn out.

Excellent service, onsen and room”
Staff picked up us in the Arima train station, very efficient! They can speak fluently English and Mandarin. We booked a room with private hotspring inside the room, there are many free drinks in the fridge, very good taste of Japanese tea, Nestle coffee machine in the room as well. Hardly could I tell anything I don't like! We also booked outside private onsen for 45 mins each session, theses are gorgeous! Unlimited booking you can make, but you are only allowed to make the second booking after you finish the first one. That is quite fair to all guests! I have to take this opportunity to thank the staff to help us to get my bag which I lost it in JR bus after I checked out the hotel. I send them the email and asked for help. They made a very quick response to help us. We are very appreciated their services.

Family adventures ”
My family came to Japan from Australia and after doing a few days in tokyo, Osaka and Kobe they very much enjoyed the relaxing nature of Arima and the onsens. The dinner at the hotel was delicious and great value for money.

Fantastic! Cant ask for more!”
Stayed here for 1 night. The onseb shuttle took us from the Arima onsen station and it was such a hassle free commuting. We wanted to havw Kaiseki dinner however it was fully booked so they organised a dinner at a different restaurant. It would have beeb awesome if we could have dinner there. The staff there was extremely friendly and helpful. Would love to stay there again. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience - highly recommend!”
Everything was impeccable; I was on a sisters' trip and we enjoyed every single moment we spent at this ryokan as well as the adorable town it is located in. Great service and we felt extremely welcomed. We managed to book two private onsen times: one in late afternoon, and the other in early morning the next day. We used the ryokan's public onsen in the evening which was absolutely great as well. I did not like the dinner course as much as I expected (especially for the price we paid) and the chef could not explain what each dish was in English very well. It was worth a try for the first time, though. Next time I visit I will probably just go to the town to get dinner.

Excellent”
Pros: private onsens were great, shuttle to the town and back made things so easy, good food, English speaking staff, clean rooms, authentic Japanese experience, private dining room assigned to our room, fantastic kobe beef hot pot with the kaiseki dinner, huge and delicious breakfast Cons: not really a con and not the fault of the property but we booked a superior mountain view room with single western style beds but got a Japanese room with city view instead. but in the end it all worked out and the Japanese room was just right for us

Very good experience”
The staff was nice and the room was excellent There would be shuttle to pick you up anywhere at anytime in Arima Onsen. The private hot spring was very good too!

Prefect Services and Comfort Hotel”
Good room condition, excellent service, enjoy the private hot spring with family. Hotel located in high level of the hill, so good view but not convenience. Free shuttle to hotel as the Arima information center.

Exceptional”
We really enjoyed our time here. The facilities were very clean. The room was comfortable and spacious. We had the traditional room and it was a good experience for us. The staff was also attentive to our needs. Although they know some English, there were still some miscommunication and difficulties. My husband needed to speak Mandarin a couple of times to communicate with the staff. Luckily, my husband was able to communicate with them or else there would have been a lot of misunderstandings. Other than that, we recommend this place. The view is gorgeous and the downtown area is quite quaint (even though we didn’t have the time to explore it too much). We recommend getting to the place early since the shops close early and you would want to reserve the private onsens quickly as they are popular. The separate public Onsens were also nice and my husband and I both noticed that there were hardly anyone in the public Onsens, which is good for those who are feeling a bit shy!

Superb service and facilities”
The service there is amazing. The staff are all very helpful and considerate and can speak different languages including English and Chinese. Very prompt email response before our stay. Warm welcome when we arrive at the hotel with tea and sweets. Great free 45-minutes private onsen session available. Breakfast and dinner are delicious, and the staff there explain each course in detail. Awesome experience - would definitely recommend to anyone who would like a full japanese experience at an onsen hotel.

Exceptional service and lovely private bath ”
Wonderful keiseki experience and comfortable setting for a one-night stay with private onsen experience! It was absolutely enjoyable. Staff were attentive and the dinner was delicious. Would have liked to have been able to decide when the futons were laid out in the afternoon, so we could rest earlier. Other than this, with highly recommend a stay at this ryokan!

Luxurious experience of the Orima onsen”
Ladies, expect a little princess experience right after you checked in to the hotel (won't tell you what as not to ruin your surprise). The hotel let you sign up for time slots to enjoy 1 of 6 private onsens with your spouse. In the morning, there's a very interesting performance of rice cake making and tasting afterwards. You also get a little gift for staying here. The only cons during our stay is that the bathroom (toilet room) in our room smelled a little, other than that, we're really happy and satisfied with our first onsen experience in Japan!
