Convenient place to stay”

Location, staff friendliness, free wi fi, reasonable parking fee, good value for money.
The bath room is a bit too pink for my taste, but functional.

I booked a double room for a very reasonable price, but had an 8 years old with us, thinking that we all might be able to fit in. The two beds in the double room was indeed too small for 2 adults and a child so we asked for an extra bed, for which we were willing to pay an extra fee. The hotel told us that the arrangement was not possible and offered us a much larger triple room without any additional cost. I thought that was very generous. The staff are also extremely helpful and friendly, which was not always the case for non-luxurious hotel. The hotel lobby and entrance looks like a five stars hotel but the rooms are more like 3-4 stars, which commensurate with the price. The room was not fancy but indeed functional and contained all the regular amenities one would expect. All is all, a very good value for money and good service.

It was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We booked a room for 4 and the beds were set up for us quite nicely. The room was of decent size and clean. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. We especially enjoyed the breakfast which had a big spread. Parking was also easy and we had no problem with it. Kudos to the Art Hotel Team.

Enjoy the great weather in Asahikawa. Hotel location is a little far from train station, easily 25mins walk. But hotel is near main shopping area. Very peaceful both at night and day. A place worth staying. A lot of eatery near hotel.

Ideal for a short stay”

cleanliness, location, ease of experience (no problems!)

We used this hotel as a stopping point on a trip to Furano and just needed a place to stay after a long day at the zoo. By car, it is really easy to access the hotel, and it is located near a great variety of restaurants and bars. There is a pedestrian-only street with a lot to offer just a block away. Access to the airport is also easy. With regard to the hotel itself, it met all of our needs, and there were no problems at all. The only thing that would have made it better was if breakfast had been included in this particular package. Overall, a good spot to be in for a short stay. Will probably stay there again if I end up in Asahikawa in the future.

Beyond Expectations”

Professional reception staff, from check-in, lift management etc. Clean and spacious room. Very innoative furnishings. Free internet line in room.
I thought it was a little stuffy in the room during Dec winter time. No adjustments possible.

You can never go wrong finding this place, Asahikawa buildings are lined up according to numerical streets and avenues. If coming from the JR startion, you just got to keep walking straight through the streets & when you come to 7,6, turn left and you will see Loisir hotel after crossing a street. Depending on the type of luggage, be prepared to spend about 20min walking. If you fancy some Asahikawa ramen, check out some as you approach 7-11 store before hitting the hotel.

A lovely hotel”

Like a 5-star hotel
the spa

This is truly like a 5-star hotel in Asahikawa. And it is very cheap (i got it at a promotion rate). The hotel lobby was huge and nice with lots of staff waiting to assist you. The room was big (i had the big room) and clean and neat. Toilet was nice. There were also many shops at the lobby where you can buy stuff. But the spa was disappointing. I didnt know that i had to pay for it. I thought it was like a regular onsen in other hotels. But i paid nevertheless as i was all changed into my bath rope. The spar had only 1 small tub with hot water!! the rest were cold water and mildly warm water. Couldnt even relax in peace as it was so noisy with all the pumps running at full power.

warm service

service of the staff surpassed what one would expect from this grade of hotel. check in was efficient and communication was no problem at all -- the English spoken here was better than most of the people in other hotels in Hokkaido. Room was big by Asahikawa standard, and everything was clean. My room did not have much of a view but it was an enjoyment to stretch oneself in a good size bed after the flight. Only real downside was with the internet -- it did not work.

Decent but overpriced hotel in a good location”

Cleanliness, Location, Standard

We chose this hotel as all the other hotels available were either even more expensive or too shabby. It is a decent hotel with rooms expected at this price. Rooms may be a bit old but relatively well-maintained. Facilities wise, they provide WiFi in the rooms with decent connection, as well as car park at 1,000 yen per day, though I've to say it may be a bit troublesome if you need to drive out frequently as it's a mechanical car park. Staff are not the most helpful, surprisingly given the standard of this hotel and their relative fluent English compared to those serving other hotels (and language was definitely not the factor, as we had a Japanese friend traveling with us, yet the staff seem rather uninterested in helping, or lack the knowledge to even the usual general questions). Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, simply because you'll be overpaying for your stay, and that there are better places in Asahikawa at this price.

Up market hotel near great Yakotori restaurants ”

Large Room, Internet, friendly staff

We chose Loisir because of the up market look and realised it was a few blocks from JR station, but taxis are not dear. We were disappointed that this was the first hotel in Japan where we had to pay to use the onset. That took the shine off our expectations. There is a nice restaurant at the hotel but to pay $20 for breakfast was a bit much. We ate mostly outside and found some 7-11 and Lawson shops close by that sell beer, wine and snacks at a great price. We were disappointed that the famous Zoo was shut for 2 weeks for seasonal cleaning!!!

Great Hotel ”

GOOD Very good room size, good location, premium feeling with average price. Wouldnt say bad, but great if they can be improved: - Parking to be charged at 1000jpy and opposite the hotel building - onsen/spa is payable.

Rowdy ”

I would say the hotel is quite dated, staffs are not very friendly, check in doesn't even require your passport or anything. They still uses key and my key actually broke when we were trying to open the door. Luckily it was not stuff in the keyhole, half of the key is still out so yeah... The area at Asahikawa Art Hotel seems a little rowdy when you go over at night towards the place that looks crowded. I would not know how to explain to you but you'll find out if your observant. The hotel staff can't speak much English when i called from some Pachiko place as i require to check in late. The staff from the Pachiko place near Ramen Village were really helpful and tried his best to help us out but no avail due to language barrier. Lucky i know how to say 'no worries' in Japanese thanks to anime. Everyone else here are nicer than the hotel staffs so................ Honestly i do not know how to explain but if you are not a picky person, the hotel room are fine. I don't feel quite safe there though. I would say the only friendly one was the uncle doing parking for the cars as they uses some sort of lift system.
