Good hotel with exceptional service”

110% service attitude of the staff

We stayed in Art Hotel Athens for 5 nights with interruptions ( excursions to Greek islands). For us the price rather than the location was important choosing this hotel. The location is still quite convenient and we even walked to Monastiraki (about 20 minutes), despite a subway connection at Omonia (7 minutes). The area around the hotel is not the best and looks a bit dodgy. However, we never felt unsafe or threatened even at night. We stayed in three different rooms and the standards are different depending on what room you get. The first night we had a nice, big double room, which was great cause we had a lot of luggage. When we returned we got a smaller room and asked if we can change. The staff is very helpful and gave us a triple room for one night. We changed to another double the next day, but noticed that the bathroom in the previous room was obviously newer than in the new one. During our trips we could leave our luggage in the hotel, which was very convenient. Free wi-fi was provided in any of the rooms. The staff was exceptionally friendly at all times and extremely helpful with any information we needed (especially during the strikes). One lady speaks Spanish, English, Italian and Japanese so no communication problems. Breakfast was included and the buffet offered plenty of choice including great Greek yoghurt. It was available from 7-11AM and good for us getting up late every morning. We were offered a welcome drink everytime we checked in and even offered a small gift upon check-out, which was very thoughtful. One day we wanted to wash our laundry and the hotel staff arranged it free of charge the same day. The only thing I would note under cons is that some of the older bathrooms were not so clean (the newly renovated ones were though). Would come back anytime and enjoy the great hospitality.

Very considerate staff”

Good: The location is only 5 minutes walk to Metro Station 'Omonia' Very friendly and considerate staff: We had to leave early in the morning and the hotel offered us breakfast one hour before official breakfast time (7-10 am)! Rooms have very high ceilings and sleek minimalist design, while art works are displayed in public areas (lobby, dining room, etc.). Bad: The location (Omonia) looks a bit run down (like much of Athens)

Very gracious and kind”

The staff here were so welcoming! We appreciated many thoughtful gestures, and also enjoyed being in a place with original, interesting art all around. And the breakfast was above and beyond -- eggs, meat, excellent yogurt and honey, fresh bread and jam, tea and coffee... it was delicious. The neighborhood is working class and not touristy, but I felt safe and enjoyed getting more of a "real life" sense of Athens. Thank you very much for an excellent time in Athens.

Very cute and nice hotel owners”

Owners are very nice to us, providing us with detailed information about Athens and Greece

Very nice owners who really mak us feel like living at home. Without even asking, the owners came to us and provided us with great details of Athens and the places we want to visit. The hotel's decoration is very lovely too, although in the picture the hotel looks much more bigger. It is quite near Omonia Square where there is a metro station, so it is easy to travel around. The hotel itself is a little hard to find because it has no big and obvious signs. One time a taxi driver went pass by the hotel a couple of times and still did not see the hotel. Overall, the hotel is very nice and it is a great place to stay in Athens.

Good accomodationa nice personal

The district is close to centre. Its really close to the centre and you can walk to all sightseens but not in night time, i not sure about nearby blocks but it seems to me that some getto is near. At the same time Parlamient is in 4 blocks walking. I liked everything not including this. Anyway its not the problem of the hotel but of Athens allover nice blocks are separeted by bundocks randomly.

Friendly service

This fairly cheap hotel is located close to the touristic center of Athens. Its best feature is the friendly check-in staff who took a lot of time to talk to the guests and explain sights and attractions of the city.

location, designed for artistic appeal, comfortable room

This hotel must have been lovely when first opened but, in common with much of Athens, there is a slightly run down atmosphere. Rooms are of reasonable size and well designed. That said, everything was fine and I recommend this place.

Absolutely excellent ”

I loved it. Saw the previous comments and thought it sounded a bit midrange, but we were all pleasantly surprised with how wonderful our stay was. The woman at the reception desk was superb. She checked us in with so much warmth and attention and guided us with great tips on what to do. She even gave my mother some tape to seal a package from our trip and gave her some soda to water to drink (on a tray!). She even arranged for our taxi the next morning and had a special breakfast prepared at 5:45am so that we could eat before our departure (we had to leave before breakfast started). The room was clean and beautiful. We even had a balcony! And the hotel is safe and easy to get to. Shower was amazing, bathroom was huge, everything was clean.

Art Hotel Athens”

Nice accommodation and friendly staff.
Airconditioning wasn't working as they weren't expecting it to be so hot, so early. Had quite a lot of traffic noise so couldn't open the windows.

When we arrived we given a welcome drink and sat down with the receptionist who went through a map and highlighted all the sights to see and how to get to these. The staff were very helpful throughout our whole stay, especially when we were stranded due to the protests - very accommodating. The hotel had a nice breakfast, had a lot of choice. Even though the area wasn't very nice, the hotel was beautifully decorated.

Nice but not as expected”

Nice but a bit far from centre

It was a bit disappointed as it has a bit different from the picture shown. The time we reached there was night and the hotel was dark from exterior. We were a bit shocked to see that as we never expected that. Secondly, it was a little far from centre, but it is still within walking distance. It takes around 10-15 minutes to reach somewhere we can take a tourist bus. Moreover, the interior of the hotel is a bit old, even though the cleanliness was still accepted. I would say it is not very good, however, it is still an acceptable hotel to stay in.

Disappointed!”

The Art Hotel was well decorated, but most definitely not well taken care off. The room was very old looking. Things around were misplaced. The service was poor, they were slow and seemed very confused! When we checked in they allocated us to room 204, when we opened the door there was someone inside, it was already occupied, then they allocated us to room 304. They were unable to assist me in booking a tour. #Very disappointing!
