Visiting a friend in the Hospital. Location was perfect and also easy to uber out for shopping and meals. Staff very friendly. Lovely sunny, clean room overlooking the park. Staff kindly gave us an upgrade. Will definitely be back.
Great hotel as near as you can get to the hospital! ”
Was working at the Children's hospital so it is as close as you can get! Nice gym facilities available to you as well. Not much around in terms of restaurants. but I didn't mind the walk to Fitzroy for dinner.
Nice stay and great park!”
We were greeted by a friendly staff member, our room (albeit a bit small) had a great view overlooking the Royal Park and our daughter enjoyed the nearby playground. All of us enjoyed tuning into the yoga channel and taking a mornng yoga session - great idea! Easy underground parking with plenty of space due to the hotel being connected to the children's hospital.
Good location, superb customer service! ”
Thanks for the kind hospitality. My partner and I enjoyed our stay at your hotel - The staff at the reception are friendly and helpful (i.e. Melissa). They were able to answer all my queries and provide really useful recommendation during my stay in Melbourne. The location was situated close to Queen Victoria Market (about 10 - 15minutes walk) and accessible to most places in CBD area via the tram. One thing I notice was the toilet in the room, It would be nice if there was something to keep the toilet warm during the shower. It tends to be pretty cold especially when you are going for a shower at night (also suggesting to cover the showering area in full as the water splashes out and wet the entire floor). Nevertheless the stay was enjoyable and I really love the room, the bed, especially the staff. Thanks once again and I will def come back again in the future! :)
Great bed. Silent Room, though there were no other guests in the rooms next to ours. Great style.
This is exactly what I am looking for a Hotel in Melb. Good location, next to the big park and away from the crowded CBD but no to far away. Got on-stie parking so easy to drive in if you have a rental car. Inside the hotel, we liked the theme of Arts and all these small pieces of decorations which give you a unique character and presentation throughout the lobby, lift, room hallway and inside the room. We had a room with park facing, such a good view especially afternoon or during the morning. Room size was enough and bed was good. Definitely recommended this one and will stay here again next time we visit Melbourne.
Stunning boutique hotel”
Staff were charming & extremely efficient. What a gorgeous lobby, room & artistic space. Very comfortable stay. The bed so unbelievably comfortable that we’re considering purchasing one. Handy location with trams at the door. Only downside was we were above the gym & couldn’t work out what the rhythmic noise was. Not enough to bother us. Had room service & was a limited choice, but delicious food.
Hotel is good but the location really is far from city center with poor transportation”
Good hotel but really far from the life of Melbourne. Huge park next to it but that really is the only good thing around. Hotel is located in a hospital for children, maybe good for someone visiting relatives there.
Tastefully designed rooms”
This place is simply amazing. The decor was top notch, rooms were immaculate, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. There is a park right next to it which makes it perfect for families with young children. Limited street side parking available outside the hotel and you can park at RCH located right next door if you can't find any.
Stylish, convenient, comfortable”
My room at the Larwill was exceptionally pleasant and made for a good place to work and rest. Amazingly convenient to the Children's Hospital, where I was doing some work. The adjacent park was an added bonus, and I loved being within walking distance of the Melbourne Zoo and Melbourne Museum. Staff were the friendliest and most helpful I've had the pleasure of interacting with. I would definitely stay at the Larwill again next time I'm in Melbourne.
Cute little art hotel.”
We stayed at the Larwill Studio last weekend after I stumbled upon the hotel on Agoda. The hotel is attached to the Royal Children Hospital but it does have a separate entrance both from the road and into the building. The twin room facing the park was nice and had enough room for 2 adults and 1 child. There is tram to city stop right outside of the hotel and underground parking. Just make sure you book the parking prior to arriving. There are short term street parking along Flemington Rd. You could rent a bike or a smart car from the hotel if you haven’t arrange any transport but we didn’t use any of these services. The Smith + Singleton cafe was quite nice and def handy. Otherwise there are many other cafes around. Location wise, it is a bit further out from the city but not bad if you’re after somewhere a little more peaceful. We had a pleasant stay and will def stay there again next time.
Great hotel only a short tram ride to the City with tram stop a few minutes walk from the hotel. Quiet area, very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Have stayed here twice and would stay again.
Great staff & location ”
Location great, staff great, room basic but good
Our family had a great stay at the hotel!
Excellent decorations and good service”
My friends and I checked in at about 22:30. The reception is nice and polite. When we went up to the room, the decoration within the room was really interesting and creative. We will recommend this hotel to our friends and families.
Absolutely amazing! Probably the best hotel I’ve stayed in Australia. Everything was perfect, bed is INCREDIBLE, spacious room, nice decoration, very clean, nice view on the park. Definitely recommend it and will be back next time I’m in Melb!
A surprisingly good value hotel so close to everything ”
So it might seem a bit odd to stay in a place connected to a Children's Hospital, but the Larwill is a hotel that wouldn't be out of place in the centre of the city. Because it isn't directly in the centre, it benefits from having heaps of space and it's connection to the well-designed RCH mean it has easy access to a mini-mart, massage place, small food court and tram stop to take you right into town. The rooms also have great views overlooking Royal Park, which is a lovely green belt that adds to the unique atmosphere. Nice toiletries by Evo and easy parking in the World's Cleanest Underground Carpark ($25 per day) made it all really easy and an enjoyable overnight staycation.
Quirky hotel. Get the park view.”
Had a room with the park view, which is quite scenic. The Larwill Studio has a quirky funky design, right down to the toiletries. The toilet is very clean. The staff are helpful, cheerful and even left a note for me because I returned to Larwill Studio after a night at Yarra. Location is not exactly near to Melbourne city central. However, it is about a ten min cab ride to the city central. It's just right next to the children's hospital. No swimming pool. You can rent bicycles and two seater hatch back cars (cute!) from the hotel.
Great Stay ”
I had a parkland view, which was beautiful in the summer. Great for travellers who prefer something close to the city but quieter and with a Creative vibe. There was a tram (lines 55, 59) that brought me to the city, and a small supermarket within the same complex, a min's walk away. Staff were lovely - friendly and helpful and rooms were well-made.
Comfy and cosy”
Beautiful designed hotel. Beds were very comfy, also very good pillows. Nice views to the park, very quiet and calm. A bit far away from the city centre, nice district, but far. You would need to rent a bike/Smart for the day. Coffee/Water in the room should be for free.
