Located in nice UES neighbourhood with many restaurant options and 2 mins walk to subway”
I have travelled to New York for 6 to 7 times and had stayed in a different area every time I came. First time staying at the Upper West side and absolutely loved it. There are many restaurants, coffee shops, bars nearby. Subway station is 2 minutes away on foot. Room is spacious for NYC standard and the hotel gives out a free alcoholic drink voucher when you check in. Staff is polite and always wears a smile. Room is neat and clean, and provides 2 bottles of water everyday. There’s a bar and lounge area on th G/F with good vibes. Central Park is 10 mins away on foot, and you can reach Times Square in 30-40 mins by walking if weather is good and if you don’t mind some walking. Overall speaking I’m very happy during my stay and will return in the future.

This is a great value hotel”
150 bucks to stay in the Upper West Side, I cannot complain. I love the location - Central Park just a couple of blocks east, two short blocks to the 1 train, great bar that makes a knockout gin and tonic, really cosy entranceway, and the attached restaurant makes a thoroughly hooverable eggs Benedict. Staff, I found, were really helpful and friendly. My only gripe is that the rooms do not match the impact of the entranceway and looked a little worn and cheap. But, the bed, a genuine king, was really comfortable, and this Englishman was able top make himself a proper cup of tea with the included amenities. Next time I am in NYC I almost certainly will stay here.

almost great”
wonderful location if you want upper West side. nice space and cool vibe. Large rooms. Only issues we had were not being asked if we wanted a Handicapped room and the fact that when the hot water came on in the shower it sounded like a jack hammer going off. This caused our 20 yr old to wake up every morning when my wife and I would try to take our morning shower. We did explain this to the hotel but it never got fixed. They did provide us with a credit upon our departure. Gotta say it was the most quiet and spacious room in NYC I've ever been in.

The location is excellent we had shopping restaurants bakery’s everything we would need”
connoisseur Our stay was marvelous at the hotel, it was our first time in New York and we everything we needed at walking distance. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The bellman helping with our luggage to making sure we had our ride to the airport. I love that they took care of our luggage while we waited for our flight in the evening, that gave us time to shop and eat! The connoisseur Teddy was exceptional very informative and friendly he even showed us how to take the subway to the Empire State Building! Our stay was wonderful I already recommended the hotel to family and friends! Thank you nylo for making our stay feel like home.

Back in the hood”
Had a great stay for the 3 nights being back in the city I used to live in. Nicele styled lobby and room. A shame that there are really no dining facilities in the hotel itself. Serafina restaurant is connected but not necessarily of the same feel. And whilst it was freezing had to go out at night to get a warm cup of tea. In most times of the year really nice that you have all breakfast, coffee, lunch etc options of the whole Upper West at your feet. Would totally recommend!

Great, affordable hotel on UWS”
Everything was great for our 5-day stay. Only two small concerns. The first was the lack of a service elevator. Or if there is one, it's not being used. The elevators are small and on the slower side, and the frequency with which they ended up in the basement and came back up with maintenance staff led me to believe they were being used for hotel business and not guest convenience much of the time. The second concern was noise-related. The walls are very thin - especially if you have an adjoining room - and we could hear full conversations next door. But otherwise, I would stay here again and recommend it as a well-priced option.

Exceptional”
I traveled to NYC for the first time with my teenage daughter. The only problem I had was finding the hotel. The address says Broadway but they are actually on 77th Street. My GPS said I had arrived at my destination but it wasn't there. I had to double park and go into a business where the address was and was told that the side of the hotel is on Broadway but the entrance is on 77th. Once I learned this it was easy to get to and the valet parking was wonderful. The staff was helpful and friendly and the room was spotless. I was seeing a show at the Beacon Theater and the location was ideal for me.

Ordinary service, extraordinary location”
Terrific Upper West Side location. Facilities and vibe were fine. Front desk staff and in-reservations team were good enough but not as strong as I expected in an upscale boutique setting.

solid on the upper west side”

Great location, great staff”
This hotel is amazing. The room is nicely decorated and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel bar and lounge area is perfect for pre or post drinks on your NYC adventures! The hotel is near the subway so you can get anywhere really easily. We bought the 7 day subway pass and travelled all over Manhattan and Brooklyn with easy. The location is relatively quite for NYC and when we were in our room you couldn't hear much outside traffic. The hotel is within walking distance of lots of lovely bakeries and of course.... Central Park. We would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Very Satisfied”
This was my and my families first trip to NYC and the NYLO made our trip very comfortable and memorable. The main lobby is a throwback to an earlier time; low lighting, beautiful design and vintage charm. The staff is warm and accommodating and answered all of my questions. The Junior Suite had a living room to one side and bedrooms/bathrooms to the other. The view outside was also spectacular to see historic buildings and beautiful sunrises. We had a fantastic stay; two things I wish were different *The bathroom has a frosted glass door that faces both beds and you can see right in. This made for some lights off during bathroom sessions since we were traveling with our teen child. A solid door with a mirror would have been a better design function. * The website advertises a corner balcony with views of the Hudson. Unless you book this room, you cannot get to this balcony. Instead, the balcony you can access faces north. It is a nice open balcony, just not the one we thought.

Clean, modern, convenient”
It is a good hotel if you are looking for clean, comfortable accommodations without luxury. Rooms are small, but it is NY. Good location, there is a CVS across the street, very close to restaurants, subway, Central Park, the Museum of Natural History.

Good hotel away from crazy city centre”
The hotel is about 45 min walk from Time sq but easily accessible from the subway, which we used with no problem. We liked the position of the hotel as you felt as though you were just off the main tourist route and so was slightly quieter at night. It was very close to Central Park and the natural History museum. The hotel itself was well kept, the rooms were kept immaculate, tea & coffee was provided in the room. It is not the cheapest hotel and there is a an extra charge per night to be made to the hotel plus taxes which made it quite expensive. I would stay there again but I would probably research other possibilities and check out exactly how much extra I was going to be charged on checkout. If this is not an issue for you then I would recommend a stay there.

On the Ave...and in heaven!”
Perectly located on Broadway & 77th, two-minute walk to Central Park. Beautiful, safe neighborhood. Staff was young and fun with great energy, incredibly helpful with all of our luggage and gear; which was quite a lot as we were traveling with a three-year-old. Parked our car for 24 hours, returned it safely. Let us check in early. Front desk staff helped us find where we wanted to go (from a very small restaraunt in SoHo to a specific area in Queens we wanted to visit) they printed out directions with no problem and were all knowledgeable about Manhattan and surrounding areas. Hotel lobby was modern and funky, even elevator was cool. Small, quaint, not too overwhelming. Got personality from quality and details, not size. 16th floor veranda was awesome. Great views, nice furniture. Special place all around. We are from a rural area, but felt safe sleeping there. Nice and quiet after touring the noisy city all day.

Boutique hotel in great location”
Hotel is very cool, comfortable and stylish and in a very nice location - away from all the hustle and bustle of mid town but lots of great places to eat nearby, including the two hotel restaurants which are both excellent. Several subway stops nearby so easy to get around, although plenty to see and do within walking distance, including central park, the natural history museum and the Metropolitan museum. I would definitely look to stay here again next time I visit.

Stay On the Ave”
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at On the Ave and would stay there again. We were on the 11th floor on the Broadway side of the facility. Next time we would try to stay in a room on the East side away from the main traffic. Although on 77th there is a Fire station just across the street and they do have to use their sirens on call outs. I guess it is just part of city living and we are spoiled by our home location.

Cute hotel ”
We stayed one night at Nylo - overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would come back again for a bigger room. Pro - excellent location, very friendly staff, cleanliness, two free drinks upon arrival, business/meeting center. Cons - very small room, loud heater/AC, small windows, no light bulbs/lamps in the foyer.

1st Time in NYC”
It's a nice and simple hotel that is a good walk from Times Square, especially during the time I was there. It was cold - the temperature ranged from 3-10 degrees Celsius. I'm not sure how good of a walk it will be during the summer, though. There are a range of restaurants, pharmacy, shoe depot and supermarket nearby. The subway station is 2 blocks away from the hotel, which is quite close. I think I will stay here again next time I'm in NYC.
