Basic but brilliant
If you want a taste of Ubud without doing it in luxury - this is your place. It could do with a couch however if all you need is somewhere to sleep and shower, it is perfect.

this is an extraordinary place, never stayed in a hotel like it. Not sure what it used to be but there must be some history.

Close to the Central. Kind staff. Good service.
Close to the Central. Kind staff. Good service.
Amenity is minimum, but staff here is very kind. They are happy to help you during your stay in Ubud in any way.

Would recommend exploring other hotel options
Large clean room, high speed internet access, large tub
Artini 1 was the second hotel I visited while vacationing in Ubud. The concierge was a bit pushy in having me sign up for excursions - I had only just arrived and had not even had the opportunity to set my bag down. The whole transaction was a bit impersonal so I tipped the concierge after I finally was allowed to enter my room. This changed his disposition and he became friendlier there after. Unlike the first place I stayed in Ubud, Artini 1 was quite loud in the morning. I wasn't prepared to be woken up at 5:00 AM by the sounds of screaming children running around the compound.

Unpleasant staff
location is ok
Bathroom disgusting 20 years old age... They bring your breakfast with knife and fork dipping in the palm sirup...they don't care about you and we feel it. We rented a bungallow with aircon and electricity stoped in the middle of the night. We asked for a refund on the extra aircon and the manager accepted after many dicussions to refund only from 2.00 am to cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good advice: go away and find something better it won't be so much difficult.

Comfortable and great location
Peaceful surroundings in the heart of town, friendly and helpful staff, discounts for activities
Loved the architecture of the place, felt like I was staying in a peaceful temple. My favorite part of it was the private patio. It became my habit every night to sit outside with a drink for an hour before bed. Breakfast is also served directly to your patio! Beware the fan (Bale Baru) room however. My first night was a nightmare because it's an open air room so there are lots of bugs and a caged rooster started crowing incessantly right outside my bathroom window from 4:30am. I asked for an upgrade the next morning and the friendly, polite staff, most of whom speak pretty good English, put me in the a/c room which was much quieter, so the rest of the week was much more pleasant for me. But the windows can't be closed, they're only meshed and curtained, so sounds travel very well throughout the home stay. You're staying with the owner's family, so if you don't like crying babies and playing children, you're better off somewhere else. Location on Jalan Hanoman was fantastic. I was attending classes at Yoga Barn and it was only a 5-7 minute walk away. A pleasant 15-minute walk in the other direction takes you to the Ubud Main Road (Jalan Raya Ubud) where there is lots of shopping and eating to be had. The hotel can also book activities (whitewater rafting and eco-biking tours) for you at a discount because of their contract with the service providers.

Artful hotel
strategic location, nice verandah
nice hotel with pretty good service..except couple room is a bit too small unless u're always not around then should be okay. The verandah is my favourite spot. For honeymooners, privacy's considered lacking for the couple room. Swimming pool is not inside the compound, has to go down the road. Breakfast is minimal and not many choices unless u're willing to pay extra.

Superior Room

autentieke locatie kamer naast huistempel.
