An overview

Located on historic Chapel Street in the heart of Penzance in a Grade 2 listed Georgian mansion, Artist Residence Boutique Hotel is a fun and friendly boutique hotel with individually designed rooms and apartments. The artist rooms feature murals painted on to the walls by local artists, whilst the house rooms are eclectically decorated in a vintage style with Farrow and Ball paint, reclaimed furniture and limited edition prints.

All rooms have a flat screen TV, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and are en-suite.

Breakfast is served downstairs in The Cornish Barn, overlooking Chapel Street. The restaurant and smokehouse is also open daily for lunch and dinner, with a focus on using the best local produce and various traditional cooking techniques for rich and distinctive flavors - the ultimate Cornish comfort food! The bar and lounge is the perfect place to relax with a coffee, a hand-crafted cocktail or a good Cornish ale, and is open daily.

The hotel is just a five-minute walk from Penzance train station making us the perfect base for exploring West Cornwall.

Excellent hotel with each room being a unique design. Breakfast was fantastic Beer Garden was a nice touch, which included Fusball and Table Tennis Highly recommended

Quirky, relaxed and perfect location- great for heavy sleepers!!”

Staff are all young and enthusiastic but you wonder who actually manages the place. I loved the decor and my room on the second floor overlooking the street was charming and very comfortable. But noise is a big problem here. Poor soundproofing means you can hear every conversation and bathroom visit of those above and around. I had asked for a quiet room ( meaning not on the street) but unfortunately one was not available in my price range. As it turned out, the street was not the issue! That said, when I mentioned it on check out the girl was apologetic and admitted that they had difficulties with soundproofing due to age and listed building status. Be aware if you are easily disturbed!!

Absolutely Brilliant”

This hotel is magical. The decor is so so cool! The staff couldn't be friendlier, the restaurant fantastic, brilliant central location....just couldn't recommend it enough to anyone who likes things a little quirky as well as convenient, clean....just wonderful!

We really enjoyed our time. The rooms are uniquely decorated to a high standard. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The local restaurants and bars serve fantastic local food. The guesthouse has an excellent central location. Parking can be a challenge as the roads are narrow. But we always found a spot within a couple of minutes walk. We are looking forward to our next visit. A great location from which to explore the whole county.

rooms clean and well decorated.

Parking big issue. Staff say lots of free parking but as it is free the whole of Penzance using it. Expensive considering room only. check in 3pm check out 11am. Should be 2pm and Noon. Excellent pub the Turks Head just down the road.
