Its beautiful view and convenience location but got to climb few flights of staircases. Not suitable for elderly and young children and people with disability.
Amazing view of Wat Arum Temple.”
Great room and a great hotel. My room was beyond perfect, amazing view of the river and the Temple of Wat Arun! The hotel is also very close a number of other great sites to see. The area was a bit too tourist centric for me but the room was amazing!
Great place located right by the river where you can enjoy the great view of temple of dawn. Well decorated with oriental feelings. Good location, a few steps away from the Reclining Buddha temple. Very nice staffs. FYI. no parking nor fancy stuffs but is a very lovely place to stay.
The Arun Residence is a Bangkok delight. Close to several major tourist site on the riverfront over looking Wat Arun. The interiors are a teak masterpiece & the hotel feels like a large home not a hotel. The staff are all lovely. The restaurant, which also overlooks Wat Arun, is superb.
Stunning sunset view of Wat Arun from the balcony”
We booked a junior suite with balcony to sit down and relax to see sunset with Wat Arun view at front. The room was big and quiet. Breakfast could be improved with more variety of choices but the taste was good. Try the croissant.
A last minute booking and so glad that we chose this place. Not only is it so central to all the temples, it's literally right on the river, with an amazing view. Quirky room, lovely and clean, and feels like a home away from home.
beautiful view, difficult to reach, limited facilities / staff”
While the view is truly beautiful there was constant construction (and associated noises) starting early in the morning, our roof was leaking the entire stay with no attempt at resolution from the staff, and the entire residence is vaguarly damp. Adding to this it's extremely hard to reach the rest of the city from here though this is no fault of the hotel itself. Without access to the bts expect hour commutes both ways if going into the city (at least in our experience).
Pleasant staff.....always very helpful. The view of Wat Arun was magnificent and location excellent for all that we wanted to see. We would definitely stay here again. Pat n Pete New Zealand
Nice view with good atmosphere”
apparently, this hotel's remarkable point is the view Very worth the price. Breakfast also nice with some varieties. And, we could check out at 12PM also. Highly recommmended for vacay!
Lovely boutique hotel on the Chao Praya”
I’ve eaten at the Deck many times and always wondered what their hotel was like. I finally got to try it out. The room was great, on two levels; bathroom downstairs and bed upstairs. It has quite a traditional Thai feel to it, which I loved. I also have a nice view of the river from the bedroom.
Quaint and cosy”
Stayed one night for low-key birthday. Amazing views over to Wat Arun - cosy, spacious room with a balcony facing the river. Drinks at Amarosa are OK w wine buffet offer. Everything about this stay was nice. Not much by way of facilities, but a cute, atmospheric and romantic guesthouse w lots nearby to explore on foot. Would stay again.
We stayed in on off the suites and had an amazing view on the Wat Arun temple. The hotel is located in walking distance to the major sights in Bangkok. The dinner at the restaurant was also nice. The breakfast service and choice could be improved.
Everything was great”
Everything was great from start to finish. The service was the best I have received in Thailand. I booked the suite and it was beyond my expectations. I wish I would have stayed there longer. The room came with everything and was extremely clean. The decor is great as well as the view. I will definitely be back.
Romantic 2 night stay in the real Bangkok”
We have been frequenting the Amorosa bar since soon after the hotel opened, it is our favourite place to visit and take visitors to Bangkok. This was our first stay in the hotel overnight and it was pleasurable to wake up in the surroundings of two important temples. The breakfast was not first class but ok for a small boutique, though if you eat in the restaurant it is very nice. The room was lovely, we stayed in the Jasmine suite (I think that was the name) and it was very comfortable. The only downside is the noise from the restaurant above - but it comes with the territory of staying in this kind of old wooden boutique hotel so no issue but a warning for those not expecting that.
Direct view on Wat Arun from your balcony”
The rooms are not very confortable, you would rather stay at this place for its unbeatable view on wat arun from your room and the rooftop restaurant. the breakfast choice is small but of very good quality. employees are friendly and helpful, we even did not need to carry our luggage byself to the 3th floor (there is no lift). perfect location to see the surrounding temples (wat arun, wat po, wat phra kaew or to visit the chetawan massage school (learn thai massage or just enjoy one).
Lovely hotel in an interesting part of town”
This hotel is good for someone who want to spend time in the older part of Bangkok, around some of the tourist sites. Its an old, renovated building, nicely furnished and full of character. The neighbourhood is interesting and its good to walk around in. The Royal Palace and other monuments and temples are close by. There are some good local restaurants in the vicinity. Its on the bank of the river, overlooking Wat Arun, which is a big plus. It doesn't have much facilities (no pool, gym, garden, etc), its far from the major transport links and shopping areas and taxi drivers will not easily find it. The only readily available public transport is the river boats.
AC didn’t work in the suite. No one on the front desk after 11 pm so couldn’t get it fixed. Had a terrible night. The pictures are a bit misleading as well. The suite pictures are not the same as what room we got. For the price, you are better off staying elsewhere.
Staff is rude, facilities is old. ”
Reserved 1 room for 3 persons, there was no extra bed prepared when we arrived and I foundout it’s not the room that I want. Discuss with the staff (girl with straight hair shoulder length and with blue color lens and she even didn’t let me know her name) who was very rude put paper ungentally and ask me if ordered by Agoda (let me feel like worse room will be given to the Agoda client). She said she is the manager of the hotel and I ask for her name card, she gave me the hotel card with only Thai language on it eventually !!! Finally we take the room they offered. The shower tray didn’t work, water blocked and flooding when my daughter was taking bath. I was so disappointed and called the staff to check out, they just changed the bath mat which was all wet. Water blocked again when my husband was bathing, we called again... NIGHTMARE!!! Dusty all around the lights, ants on the table, understand it will have mosquitoes in country side, wondering no mosquitoes repellent provided!
Best bang for your bucks.”
It's very near to temples and ferry. Hotel staffs can talk english. The hotel can locate at the end of alley. some tuktuk drivers don't know the location. There's a 7-11 near the place if you need to buy something at night. Lots of restaurant and street foods around the place. Definitely, highly recommended!
