I am deeply grateful for their kindness.”
There were not many hotels to choose from in Pretoria. I wanted to book the Tuna Bay Resort but it was hard to book a room. As a result, We chose Arwana resort. It was very pleasant and good than I thought. But the pool view was not good. I was a balcony ocean view. If you wake up in the morning, you will see the sea. The stars are full. (When it was so hot, I lie in the resort and saw the sea.) This has been a very valuable experience for me. Also, the staff always responded with a smile and was very happy. I needed ice because I took vodka before I went to the island, but at the resort bar, I gave a packed ice pack of 5 ringgit. I am deeply grateful for their kindness.

Bad organization”
We requested a transfer from the airport to the hotel. What we got, only for the car ride. Then we were dropped off at the "port" after the last boat ... with no one to take us to the island! The staff's explanation: our flight arrived too late! In this case why did we say yes for a transfer? It's the same to leave, leaving early, the taxi was not at the port at the time indicated, we were lucky not to miss our plane. The team makes the minimum effort and is not understanding. Regarding the restaurant, the choice is very limited. The good thing is their breakfast which is really diversified and good. Their diving club is also very good, the team is very nice.

Good location for families with kids, but be carefull of the big monitor lizards!”
The biggest hotel at Teluk Dalam with its own jetty, so no worries of getting your trolley bag wet upon arrival. Great for families with small children as the hotel comes equipt with a large pool (when they get bored of the sea). Our room was huge and the staff were very friendly. I booked the chalet facing the sea, but they didn't specify that the room was actually on the second floor and throughout our stay (3 days / 2 nights), housekeeping never came to clean up the room or atleast take out the rubbish. Overall, I would go back to the hotel, just don't bother taking full/half boarding because the food is so-so and there are other cheaper alternatives that are within walking distance. Also be carefull of your little ones running around because there are huge monitor lizards all around.

Great Hotel”
The hotel was really good value for money. The beach is nice, not suitable for swimming during low tide but perfectly fine during high tide. The hotel staff is very helpful and extremely polite. The pool is cool. I would highly recommend the pool and sea view chalets. The hike to the other part of the island is quite fast and easy. Taxi boats can take you all around the islands. The snorkeling trips organized by the hotel are also good value for money, don't miss Rawa Snorkeling trip!

Old resort but well maintained, great scuba operator”
The resort is understandably been there for many years and the hotel team tried their best to maintain its condition. For the inexpensive price, we get a big room with comfortable beds, hot shower and strong aircond, good variety of breakfast, friendly and hardworking staffs, clean swimming pool, that's more than we could ask for. On top of that, the scuba operator Leisure Dive has a team of professional divemasters and their equipment are pretty new and well maintained. Would recommend anyone learning to dive or just diving leisurely to stay here.

Pros: 1. Quiet environment & super nice seaview. 2. Cool air-cond & hot water function well. 3. This hotel have own jetty just right in front. Very convenient for guest. 4. Very helpful hotel staff with always smiling face. 5. A lot of nice & cheaper cafés along the beach. 6. Swimming pool is wonderful 7. Hot drinking water is provided for free 8. Chalet have place to hang wet cloths Cons: 1. Hotel restaurant food still need a lot of improvement. 2. Many flies, especially in hotel restaurant. 3. Chalet room need some internal renovation, i.e. Glass door is broken, toilet door lock is spoilt 4. Air cond with annoying sound if turn high the temperature. 5. No wifi in bedroom & lobby 6. No TV in room

Very good location of the hotel.”
Good location, big pool and friendly staff.
I can say I like this place very much, staff was amazing - they were always smiling and helpful, I like also staff in the kitchen and their really fabulous chicken curry. You can refill you plastic bottle with drinking water - it is for free just behind right corner of front desk. Pool is great but often there was a lot of people, if you want swim in the sea - the best place is on the right side of the beach. There are two tracks thru jungle - one 15 short but steepy and one longer 30 mins in more flat terrain and you can get to the other sides of the island. Be prepared for thousands of mosquitoes in the jungle! Snorkeling trip arraged by hotel with two funny guys was also fantastic - we saw really huge turtles and small sharks :) I can recommend this hotel to everyone. One more thing - the office providing transportation for hotel from Kuala Besut to Perhentian Islands is located very close to the pier in Kuala Besut.

NIce and cozy”
Pool view, close to the beach, large and clean room
The chalet I got is next to the swimming pool, which I can easily view from the balcony. It was a real surprise for me to get this room, and I think it is well worth its value.Although I prefer a beach view hotel, it is already the best I can get, seeing me only booking this room in last minute. The staffs there also are friendly and very attentive, although the food there is quite expensive and slow serving time.Other than that, everything else is fine, clean beach, clear water and I regretted for not staying for one more day.

Perhentians are incredible”
location, location, location
i've stayed here twice and love it - first time was in the older, low priced fan rooms in the back, second time was in a new room with a/c in the front. i was very happy either way - to be honest, you don't really need a/c at night, most of the time, a fan is just fine. it's hot during the day in the perhentians, but you aren't going to be at the hotel during the day, you're going to be hiking or snorkelling or lounging on the beach. this hotel is conveniently situated in the middle ofthe island, so you're about equidistant to the beaches on both sides (maybe a 3 minute walk in either direction?) really nice staff. the monitor lizards and monkeys are no extra charge :)

a big swimming pool
compared with the other hotel on the coral bay, the hotel is worthy for the price. The breakfast is good with egg and sausage, the swimming pool is big and nice. the hotel is located on a nice beach with a big lobby. Wifi is free of charge. Buffet for dinner is worthy of trying.

Good hotel full of service with a smile”
Great location but old structure, friendly staff
the hotel staff was friendly. as soon as we arrived, we were given welcome drinks. the person at the reception explained the hotel policies and services provided in detail upon check-in. what i really like about the staff is that they wear a smile in their faces whenever you see them. this maintains a warm and welcoming environment within the hotel premises. the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable to sleep on. it also has a balcony (used mostly by our friend who smokes) with a view of the forest. a tv was provided but you cannot really watch anything as the channels are not in english language. upon arrival, we were warned that when there will be a 5-minute power outage when they switch generators, but it was not bothersome as it was a 5 seconds outage. the building structure is old though. the flooring was squeaky. i was not a fan of the bathroom. it has a hose-looking bidet and the shower was giving out little water. the only good thing is that hot water can be set in the shower. the location was great as it was situated in the bigger island of perhentian. it has a long stretch of white beach and you have the beach to yourself as the there are few people in this section of perhentian.

Friendliest staff, great facilities, good food. Exceeded all expectations ”
I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The staff were extremely helpful and efficient. The pool was great and the ice coffee were to die for. We were a group of 7 bagpackers and our expectations were completely exceeded. Rooms are a great size and the breakfast was lovely. The atmosphere was really nice, good vibes for both family and for adults who want a relaxed vibe. You can easily visit other islands and would recommend scuba diving while there. Esther and Mr Tann were delightful and super encouraging despite some initial fears. The resort is near the jungle trek which is also lovely and there’s plenty of places to eat nearby. Really good value for money and would definitely stay there again.

With a mosque on site it doesn't serve beer and the breakfast is expensive if not prebooked. The staff do their best but cannot cope with the volume of customers at breakfast time. As for Internet, forget it unless you wake up at 5am!

Nice Location, Friendly staff”
Came here at short notice since most resorts were booked out. The location and the appartment were nice (having a sea view appartment that is), also staff was friendly and helpful. In general the resort could need some renovation, at the backside of the sea view bungalows is a pretty nasty pond, where some monitor lizards have their lovely home. Breakfast was ok (mixed asian and western continental), apart from that i would avoid the restaurant, which we found lacked quality. But then again compared to the mainland food at the whole bay wasn't the best we had during our trip.

The location is fabulous but this hotel is shabby and uncared for. We had a leak in our bathroom and the room was in a bad state of repair. This hotel represents poor value for money, which is such a shame because if it was a little better maintained it would be full every night.

The place was good”
I spent half of my holiday on Arwana side of the island and I felt a bit secluded at first after the more lively time spent on the other side of the island. But soon I got used to more quiet pace and enjoyed my time. KK beach can be reached by a nice sweaty hike or by boat and strolling the beach in fron of Arwana is peaceful. Hotel was abit empty and rooms needed a bit of refresh but it was still Ok. Breakfast was good. Staff very nice and friendly.

Poor room and very unfriendly staff”
We staid for 4 days in this hotel. The room is very poor and the beds are hard. But we liked the pool and the location of the hotel, it is at the beach this is very nice. The breakfast in the hotel is dissapointing, there were a lot of flies in the restaurant and on the food. Fortunately there is a great place on the beach B'first where the food is great and there is Jim's bar for great cocktails. We also had a discussion with the manager of the hotel. When you book this hotel with agoda you also pay for the boat transfer , but we could'nt find the boat who belongs to the tickets and the hotel. So we booked the tickets again. We told this in the hotel right away and they reconigzed this story and they where going to give us a refund with agoda . But they told agoda it was our own mistake and they wouldn't give us a refund. Agoda showed us a great service and they refund us half of the costs but we were very disappointed in the manager of the hotel. If you don't want to give a refund then don't tell us.

Very satisfied (zeer tevreden)”
The reviews did scare me, however we wanted to visit the Perhentian islands and we had no alternative. I must say the the resort was wonderful. Let me start with the room (we booked a superior room in the main building). The beds are more than ok, however the shower and toilet (both in the room and the one are the reception) could use some updating and that's an understatement). The breakfast is for malesian standerds very good. You can get toast, all kinds of pastry, fruits, cereal, and Malsian style breakfast. Moreover, you can order eggs (prepared in all ways: omelette, scrambled etc). The menu of the restaurant has enough choice. We also had lunch in other places, but I must say that the restaurant in Arwana was very good. The chef (Abdulrazak) is very kind and even gave us some Malaysian chicken saté. For diner they also have a very good bbq or fish steam boat. The best plus of the resort is the swimming pool. It is cleaned every morning. It is a shame that they do not invest in a good filtering system (you don;t need to clean the pool in the morning so in the long run saved you money and the pool isn't dirty in the evening). This is the largest swimming pool on the island. Is very useful if you have small children (and indeed for adults :-). The hotel has also it's own small pier. This is very handy if you need to carry luggage. You don't need to drag this over the beach to you resort. Another big plus it the diving school at the facility. For people that have no experience...the pool is very handy for learning the basics of diving. We took lessens and found are very satisfied...other schools go to shallow water witch is very hard due to the waves. Finally, the staff is very nice...although I believe this hold for most people in Malesia. I also took some din
