Best location and good food
Pros - best location- it's just a distance of walking to the cable car station, good dinner, nice public bath Cons - water pressure was not good (the day I stayed at the hotel was a quite crowded, it might be the reason)

Great location, could do with some work
The good: the hotel is very well positioned for the ropeway, the rooms are a decent size and the buffet was decent for two nights, the onsen is nice (loved the child sized robes) The bad: with the exception of the front desk staff, who were all smiles, the buffet staff are not the jolliest; the bathrooms in the rooms are rudimentary with comical shower attachments which spray everywhere except where they are meant to. At 85,000 for two nights, we have an expectation of some luxury in the bathrooms. I might go back, but I think I'd prefer to pay more and go for La Vista down the road (even though the location isn't quite as convenient).

Not the best place to stay during summer
During Summer, rooms were extremely warm without a thermostat to control the AC. Food was satisfactory and they cook the same dishes every night. I would not stay for more than 2 nights if I was planning a trip there.

Stale Hotel
Only a handful of hotels within the proximity and I booked this only because our first choice down the street was fully booked, so we had to settle for Bear Monte. Our service staff at check-in counter was fairly young and don't speak much English. Cigarettes smell lingers from the previous hotel guest but I had requested for a non-smoking room. However, the front desk did resolve this by changing my room immediately. Thumbs up. AC doesn't work properly and there's no thermostat to control the room temperature. This is particularly a problem after we used the in-house onsen, when we were still sweating in our hotel rooms. This explains why electric fans are available for hotel guests to be put inside the rooms upon request. Bear Monte was the hottest hotel our family stayed at in Hokkaido and this is not a compliment. Food was relatively okay at the dinner buffet. Main course was Steak in the 1st night and grilled prawns on the 2nd night. Most of our prawns were mushy at 1st bite meaning they were not fresh so we didn't even bother returning them. Overall, it wasn't the best hotel experience I've had in all of my previous Japan visits.

Close to Ropeway
The hotel was located close to the Ropeway. You can enjoy the first walk on top of the mountain.

Convenient to Ropeway Station
Two minutes walk to ropeway station, where the bus terminal is. Very good dinner provided. Polite staff. Location is such that it is peaceful and travelers can find serenity in staying here.

LEISURE
NICE HOTEL. STAFF ARE POLITE BUT DON'T REALLY SPEAKS ENGLISH. EASY ACCESS TO TOURIST SPOT AND ESPECIALLY LIKE THE ROPEWAY WHICH IS JUST A FEW MINUTES AWAY FROM THE HOTEL.

Good choice for Asahidake
Wonderful tranquil mountain setting. Good breakfast & dinner buffet. Above average onsen. Rooms cleanliness need some improvement.
