This was a ryokan that I wanted to stay at for a long time. This time, we visited with my parents and daughter to celebrate my parents' 77th birthday. The staff were very polite and we were able to spend a very pleasant time. The meals that we were looking forward to were also wonderful, and my usually small-eating father ate a lot because it was delicious. Personally, I liked the bath in the basement of the Hachiban-kan. The premium lounge had a variety of drinks and also had rusks, so tea time was a good time. The maple rusk was delicious, so I bought a lot at the shop. As for the room, my elderly parents used the beds. The room had two TVs and the amenities were also excellent, so we were very satisfied. My daughter couldn't sleep because the pillow was too high, so I contacted the front desk in the middle of the night and they brought pillows of different heights, so I was able to sleep soundly. We also went to karaoke, and the staff's consideration was wonderful, so I definitely want to visit again. It was a one-night stay, but my parents were also happy and it was a very satisfying trip. I plan to visit again in the autumn. I think it's a ryokan that I can recommend.

Exceptional”

This was my fourth stay at this hotel, but my first time staying in a Japanese-style room. Each room has a unique feel from the moment you enter the door, which adds to the overall experience. The room was a clean and relaxing Japanese-style room with intricate tatami flooring design. The use of charcoal as an interior decoration was a nice touch that added to the Japanese ambiance. I feel like I was able to experience the charm of Asaya Hotel even more by staying in different types of rooms.

Great hotel”

Great hotel- the rooms were spacious and clean with a river running below. There are three onsens which we amazing and relaxing- a must do! My kids loved the play area and breakfast/dinner buffet- great selection of food for even picky eaters. Parking was spacious and easy and the staff friendly. Only con was it was a bit of a drive from central Nikko but it was close to some tourist spots so depends on your preference. We were also able to buy some discounted tickets for local spots at the hotel. I would stay here again.
