Mediocre beach getaway ”

Aseania is a good resort for families. Pricey for Malaysian standard, and the food is average. But the rooms are very comfortable. Pulau Besar itself doesn't offer anything much, so you will spend most of your time at the resort. Might be worth spending a bit more for a comfortable space.

Fantastic Weekend”

We have just arrived back from Aseania, what a fantastic time we had!! The accommodation was quirky, clean and comfortable. The food was good and as much as you can eat. The entertainment was entertaining. The staff were incredibly helpful and the Resort manager made a point every day of checking in with all his guests to make sure all was OK....nice touch!! The boat transfer was efficient and speedy. The beach was in magnificent condition and the sea was beautiful. If you want a nice relaxing weekend without any frills then I completely recommend the Aseania Resort, we will be returning shortly.

Perfect short getaway ”

Spent my weekend in Aseania, was a perfect place to stay away from hustle and bustle. Country chalet room is a bit old but it was clean and tidy, even Astro Tv is provided. I like those facilities by the beach, the water is so clean and shiny. Speedboat schedule is very on time, our trip schedule went well as per our planning. Overall was satisfied, would recommend Aseania to my friends and family.

Kampong Style Homey Beach Resort”

Friendly, Kampong style, clean beach

i have stayed for 3 nights in this resort, it has "kampong"/traditional malay village style bungalow. the staff are very friendly and attentive on everything we need. the food is simply awesome (we took the full board package). the beach is good, there is small fishes around, and soft sands, the only backdraw is sandflies, which bite once in a while. beach activities need to rely on next door resort (i.e. d'coconut, mirage), but i heard from few stayer, aseania is the best in the area comparing the 3 resorts. overall, we enjoyed the stay in this hotel, even my wife and daughter already asking to return. i will consider returning for my future trips.

Island Paradise”

We need to go somewhere after the pandemic lockdown has been relaxed. And we found this place, an uncovered gem off the isles of Johor in Mersing. Just a couple of hours drive from KL and a mere 20 minutes boatride from Mersing Jetty A small, quiet place, enough facilities for us (clean water/electricity/airconditioning). A great place to unwind from the stress of everyday life. We simply love the deck on the beach, the view from our seaview chalet. Warm friendly staff and huge spacious chalet. Would be great if they have more variety on the food menu, though. Nevetherless, we will definitely will be back.

Thank you Encik Adam for you kind accommodation during the check in and check out time. It makes me felt home. The resort has its own beach and little lovely shelter and chairs where I used to lay down for sun and stars. Unforgettable trip, thank you to Aseania.

Great experience”

We had a wonderful 3D2N at Aseania. The beach is beautiful; the sea is crystal clear, with plenty of fish; the food is nice, especially the BBQ dinner at Sunday night. The only issue is that the chalet is not perfectly sealed. We were worried about insects coming in so we kept the aircon on all the time, which is perfect for my husband but too cold for me!

beautiful beach”

great views

the hotel was ok considering that besar is a small island and there are only 3 hotels there (aseania was the best one) bungalows are not for couple with more than 1 child since they are too small. the food was not too good; we had to go early to have something reasonable; the last 2 days we did not have buffet (as we paid) and they did not cook a la carte. it seems that the hotel was out of food. however, i made a special request and they did spaghetti and chicken. breakfast was pieces of bread, butter and omelet. you have to buy also drinking water. it's a good place for relaxing but only for 3 days. the hotel does not organize activities and there are things to do as trekking, snorkeling and they should offer massages or yoga at the beach. it was difficult to find somebody speaking english on duty.

Paradise”

Lovely clean beach hut, beautiful views, peaceful, great food, helpful staff, couldn't be closer to the beach

We had a fantastic stay. The island is stunning, and the resort very well cared for. We had sea views from our doorstep, and although the resort was pretty full it didn't seem busy. Breakfast a bit basic, but Malaysian dinner fare excellent- fresh and tasty. Have already recommended this place many times! Really didn't want to leave.

The hotel is OK”

Quiet and not a lot to do

When you go make sure you take cash as they do no accept credit cards,So when you come to settle your bill at the end of the holiday it may mean having one of the staff following you back to mersing to raid all the local cash machines, Although they advertise Internet you will be lucky if you get to check your email's no signal, The service can be very poor at times so unless you are sat in front of the bar and in view you can feel forgotten, Take your own medical lotions pills etc as there is nothing there, But on the whole it was a nice place and staff

Perfect for short gateway”

The good: 1) Staffs there are incredibly nice and helpful. 2) Check in and out was hassle free. 3)The country chalet was comfortable. 4) Jungle tracking was tiring but fun. 5) BBQ dinner is awesome. 6) Beach is so beautiful and clean. 7) sunset is remarkably beautiful. 8) Strix the nightguard dog is so cute. Need to improve : 1) Alot of ants in the room. 2) Instruction of ferry could be clearer.

Tranquil and relaxing”

staff, food and the surroundings

This was a family trip with 12 of us - young and old - and we had a great time, enjoying one another's company, relaxing on the beach, in the pool and during mealtimes as well. The staff were great - friendly and attentive, always ready with a big smile. As we only stayed for a night, we did not engage in the snorkelling trips etc, but merely enjoyed the basic amenities of the resort, which was enough for us for such a short stay.

Best place to bring small children”

great location, service by resort staff is the best (since we arrived until we depart). but maybe to MCO, food during breakfast not much choice. And for those who bring children, bring a lot of munchies (due to convenience store have limited choice of food.. No ice cream also).

Great place

this place is best of all resorts at this island. i would highly recommend this. very nice beach and cafeteria. i loved the chalets. only problem faced is lots of mosquitoes but this was resolved when hotel gave us a repellent. one more thing when we reached hotel they told us that return ferry ticket is nowhere included so we had to pay extra.
