Location, Cheap and Clean”
My stay in Asia Adventure Lodge was perfectly fine. We were 3 friends who travelled to KK and we initially booked a 2-night stay but ended up staying 2 more. Shiela, the manager of the lodge is very accommodating and has been a huge help in helping us secure tours and itinerary in KK. Everything is great except the occassional lost of water. It's location is right smack within the city. A few meters walk from Pezzo and it's really worth the money. Thanks!

Nice people, no rats, no problems”
This place is pretty sweet. The rooms don't have windows but who needs a window? A window is just a hole in your wall that wakes you up with sunlight in the morning. Forget windows. Come to the darkside. I slept in longer at this place than I have in any other place I've stayed in my 5 months of traveling. The people who run it are pretty nice. The older lady laughed every time I saw her. I think she thought I was funny looking but I don't care -- as long as she's happy. The locations is great. The taxi drivers might not know it but tell them to take you to X-plorer Backpackers (it's right next door). Around the corner you'll find a restaurant on the corner that makes amazing Islamic food. The fresh roti is worth converting to a muslim and go Jihad all over the place for. I've totally digressed. Asia Adventure Lodge, or AAL as I like to call it, is a great option in Kota Kinabalu, or KK as I like to call it. Internet, breakfast (toast, jam, and coffee) and a shared bathroom with hot water. What an adventure... Asian style!

Budget hotel right at heart of KK”
We arrive late night at KK and take a taxi (cost RM30) to the Asia Adventure Lodge. The hotel is not easily located since it's a small budget hotel not on the main road. It has a clean moderate facility room. The sharing bathroom is not that bad neither since it's kept clean by worker there. Next morning, we can simply walk to anywhere for needs from the hotel due to its location right at centre of KK town. There's Milimewa for shop and grocery, few banks around corner, weekend market, nearby malls and even to jesselton point to take ferry. Overall, it was a pleasant stay apart from having less privacy for going to bathroom.

You Get What You Pay For”
We were looking for a budget room and Asia Adventure offered exactly that. For this price, I expected something a bit on the rough side and it was. That is not a criticism. In fact, if the place had been more luxurious I would have expected to pay a bit more, so I was in no way disappointed. The bathroom could certainly use a cleaning. Our room was painted in two different colours and the walls were covered with two incompatible wallpapers. The WiFi was so bad as to be unusable. I bought data for my mobile phone hot spot. The location is very central and we were delighted with that. The owner is a delight to chat with and very helpful, too. The price was low. We are away for a short trip now but we will go back again.

Good Enough”
We stayed for 2 separate nights and the rooms were fine(we stayed in Room 5 then in Room 1). The bed is big enough and the A/C is working good. The wifi internet is free but a bit inconsistent. The shared bathroom for all is kept clean. The towels provided don't seem very clean so we did not really use them. Breakfast was fine - toast, butter/jam & coffee. Overall, we're fine with the place and the owners were really nice! It's a bit hard to find at first but the location is actually perfect, it's only a few mins walk to the bus/taxi station going to Mt. Kinabalu Park & there are food establishments all around.

Conviniently Located”
We only stayed here for one night. The rooms are adequately clean, the bathrooms are cleaned every morning. The walls are quite thin and you are able to hear everything that goes on outside your room. The breakfast is simple and there is parking space outside the hotel for those who drive. One thing to note though, please contact the owner, Sheila, before your arrival if you are booking through Agoda. She had told us that she does not check the Agoda bookings and have on one occasion placed the group that came to her sister hotel a few shoplots away. Apart from that the owner is very friendly and if you are planning to take tours, she offers a good deal.

Great location and big room”
Great location (in the middle of town) and the room is huge. However it will be good if the AAlodge could add toilet paper and soap in the shower/toilet. The lock to my room is broken, I hope the lodge can get it fixed before the next customer check-in. One has to climb 3 storey of stairs to get to the rooms (bad if you have heavy luggage). Other than that, its a nice short stay lodge.

Very great!!! Nice Staffs”
I'm Bien from the Philippines, I just had my stay last June 5 to 9, 2017. I can say that the staffs are very friendly and accomodation. Sem, Cy, and Sheila are very great staffs! They will help you also to reach the location you want to go. Sheila can also speak fluent Filipino (so it's a plus) haha. The location of the hotel is very near to everything, restaurants, malls, mosque, Jesselton Ferry Terminal. I will recommend this hotel to my friends here in Manila. Clap clap! 👏👏

Among best location in Gaya street”
If you only mind a place to sleep yes this place is for you. Sharing toilet concept and most important is proper working flush. Simple room with Queen bed, double bunk bed and 1 'meja solek'. There is a rule of no shoes in 1st floor so if your wearing expensive shoes better bring extra shoe bag. Ample parking space area.. cons.. The rooms is sound proof but not the door. So you will hear live music until midnight. Owh ya..

Great service with best pricing”
They provided me a lot of useful local information since I am a newbee for travel alone. With a very cheap price, the C/P ratio is quite high. Great location that I can walk to most restaurants or malls in a few minutes. A/C is working & helps me to survive from heat.

Bedbugs everywhere and the owner doesn't care much”
We found after few hours in our room a bed bug on the sheet and got a new room but it was the same problem and just an hour after we got our new room someone else checked in in our old room. The owner then confessed that she is not doing anything against them because it costs so much and according to her few days later the bed bugs come again. Apart from that the place is falling apart, everything is dirty and the showers don't deserve to be called shower, water heater doesn't work and in one of the two showers you have to shower with a bucket. We stayed for the last few months travelling in Asia always in budget places but this place was the worst. The owner is nice person though but how she is running the business is questionable.

Yes for the price, no for the comfort”
I needed just a night to stay with my girlfriend before flying off the next day. I figured why bother to stay for an expensive place where we’d stay less than 24 hours? It was a good value for money but I wouldn’t be back anytime soon. The shared bathroom was horrifying, the room was a terrorizing sight. The carpet smell like someone bleed to death on it. And also I went for a night out with my girl just to be phoned and told the place is going to be locked (it was around 12.30 am) and I was shocked a place where I was staying had a curfew! The staff were helpful and friendly, he was just doing his job. But perhaps the lodge ought to provide guests with keys to the main doors to avoid asking us to come back early. Imagine if I didn’t answer my phone, I would had to stay out all night. Won’t come back again but yeah, if you want a cheap place to stay for just a night probably recommend it to you. More than 24 hours? Find somewhere cleaner.
