Good location hotel that yo can find everything ”
This is a returned trip to stay at Asia Hotel for me, which i was very happy with the hotel location and value for money since my last stay in Apr 2013. I stayed in higher floor this time and enjoyed the views at the balcony. Breakfast is simple yet good. staffs remembered me and were very friendly, loved it! I strongly recommend this hotel. Will return in my next trip to Phnom Penh
Great budget hotel”
Firstly, the price you are paying for certainly exceeds the value of the hotel room. I particularly like the spaciousness of the room and this hotel really has a lot of rooms. The lift is from a Japanese company, so it is high-tech and safe compared to other budget hotels. The breakfast buffet is good, with varieties of noodles, rice and bread, you can be spoilt for choice, not forgetting the beverages and fruits to go along with. The room features LCD TV, so I was particularly happy with it because the previous hotels are still using the old types. The hotel is located in a good area actually, it is just 5-10 minutes walk from Sorya shopping centre and Central Market. Certainly a strategic checkpoint to get around Phnom Penh. Interestingly, some staff can actually speak fluent Chinese, so Chinese-speaking tourists should be able to conserve with some of them comfortably. Some cons: About the gym featured, not a good idea to visit.
I have been here for close to 2 weeks and keep extending. The hotel is clean, well appointed, friendly staff. Good aircon in the rooms and a balcony, excellent WIFI, fridge and minbar, LCD TV with 30-40 channels. The beds are very comfortable and there is also a full sized bathtub should one desire a soak. The only negative I see is the breakfast which is so so. The coffee is not very good and they never have OJ....Fanta Otange is not OJ! But, they have a good selection of Khmer food, noodle soups, eggs/omelets on demand, toast, margarine, preserves. If they had a decent toaster, good coffee and OJ...I would rate it as better than average. I recommend this hotel. It is alos nect door to the Sorya Bus Station, Sorya Mall, Central Market and an easy tuk tuk ride to anywhere in town as it is really central to what there is to see and do in Phnom Penh.
Lovely hotel, great location & service with smile”
Recommended by a friend who had worked here for 3 years, we chose Asia Hotel which is beyond our expectation in term of money worth, clean big room with modern setup and facilities such as flat TV with satellite channels, fridge was stacked with different type of drinks (no alcohol) and biscuit, 2 free tooth brushes and paste, cupboard, long bath cum hot/cold bath, good restaurant providing excellent free buffet breakfast, many hotel assistants plus receptionists to help one going around especially tours...and 3rdly, the location is just right in the shopping area and central market where one can experience different atmosphere and people making living, working and doing businesses. Prices are reasonable. Currencies used are US $ and riel - above US$1.00, US $ is used and below USD$1.00, riel is used as smaller denomination (notes are 10000, 5000, 1000, 500 & 100), about 4000 riels = US $1.00. Prices are reasonable on food, electronic items with latest version.. Getting a "tu-tut" transport is plentiful, at every corner/junction/business centre/shops/hotels...not a problem at all, in other words - so long there are people around, sure tu-tut are there. To illustrate the numerous tu-tut around - one doesn't have to look for one, you will be greeted everywhere by the drivers asking, "tu-tut' (means, do you need transport) even though you had just step down from a tu-tut. Of course, taxis are there also, though not as many but still readily available. Another convenience transport is motor-cycle (as in Bangkok, Thailand) which is the faster way of getting around.
excellent location with kfc in the lobby”
this is my x-number of visit to phnom penh and most of my stay were in asia hotel. first, the cost is cheap, staff are friendly and english is considered good. the morning breakfast are buffet style, but limited choice. other than that, wifi is free and the speed is extremely fast. occasionately run of the electricity, but come back fast. overall, good.
Too close to noisy traffic”
Great and cheap hotel located near markets and shops but too close to very noisy traffic in Phnom Penh. Situated on one of the busiest road in the Capital city. Staff very friendly and helpful. Unfornately stay is spoiled but constant beeping traffic.
Old Hotel but Sufficiently Comfortable”
Located near the Central Market and is easy to get around Phnom Penh since the hotel is located by the main road. A Circle K is just 1 minute away. The air-conditioning is a little weak since it's only 1 small unit to cool the reasonably big room. Buffet breakfast has a wide variety.
i have no comment about the room and the toilet. even the bath tub was dirty and the toilet was not clean, the room is quite spacious for couple traveller like us. but on my last day at phnom penh, i hired taxi from hotel. i paid USD40: s21, russian market and aiport. cannot hore taxi because of big luggage and i need to rush to the airport. on my way to airport, hotel called me to wait for them somewhere near the road. why i need to wait for them?? i asked many times but they dont want to tell us the reason. stil i asked the driver to send us to airport, im rushing for my flight and i dont want to missed my flight! when i reachead at airport, hotel called me again and asked me why i didnt wait for them?? what?? there some misscommunication here and there over the phone and i think its about they want to change my car (pajero) to another car.. what?? i paid already for the car! bad experience for me i guess on hiring taxi straight form the hotel.
Nice hotel and near to the Central Market”
Quite a big hotel. The toilet is clean enough. Easy access to the KFC which is halal on the ground floor. Only walking distance to the Central Market and near to the Sorya Phnom Penh bus station.
The staffs was very friendly and the environment was good with all the restaurants, supermarkets and the only market in phnom penh city.
Reasonable price, reasonable hotel”
not the greatest hotel in phnom penh it must be said but reasonable for the price. the room was immense, so much so that it looked under furnished despite have a full coffee table, sofa, dresser, bedside units, en suite etc. staff were helpful especially w.r.t. to the tours,
Its a nice hotel thats nearby to all the locations”
I have all good thing to say about my stay in Asia Hotel, and been a regular visitor to the city i will return for stay in the future. Only thing perhaps do be careful when you display photos of the hotel rooms do make sure that they are the correct description of room types offered to customer.
best breakfast in asia....”
i slept in very many hotels in asia but this place have so good buffet breakfast at i can t remember when i got last time even near this one. people who work in this hotel are very kind and they smiling. absolutely good place to stay and location is alomost perfect.
Fun place no matter what you'e interested in.”
This is a nice hotel- especially if you are Chinese of love KFC. In the heart of China town Phnom Penh (I guess?,) there are a plethora of Chinese restaurants and markets. Good location for shopping if you want the tourist version of the other market or night bizarre. The internet was good but I had to call many times because it bogged out a lot. Also I had to ask for a towel and soap, I've never heard of that at a $4 backpacker place. Also this hotel beat out a Indonesian one for worst breakfast ever.
Busy trip, well planned but lousy room!”
As usual I like the location of Asia hotel, as its situated near to shopping and super markets. surrounding plenty of restaurants too. Only trouble,as always I am given wrong room type (Agoda please check their standard double can be a small 10 sq metres room without window, not mentioned in booking stating 30sq meters and with balcony!) when asked about the room type they always tell you no room and tried to just get away!I am getting a little bit tired. Imagine I have to change my room for three times before getting an ok view 5 floor room (as for quuen bed but always run out too) without balcony. Room 521 I was given is reasonable but internet is hopeless I have to use my own phone as hot spot! The three nights I stayed experienced internet to be completely hopeless! I urge whoever booking do be careful as the hotel supervisor always denied your room type and never bother at all! I have been staying so many times and they still do the same to me! The usual word from them : Oh we are very full and no rooms facing the main road with balcony available! I booked so early and they don't bother to do rooms allocation at all!
nice experience with good breakfast”
Very nice experience! Nice view from the balcony to the busy street at daytime, but silent in the night! Very close to the bus terminal Sorya (1-2min walking). The breakfast was very good, even everyday the same food. Sometimes not very hot - but normal in Asia. Quality very good!
Indeed a Great location.”
The hotel receptionist was very attentive and was efficient. Instead if standing by the counter, was invited to have a seat and handed me my key and passport when he was done. Thought that it was very kind as I am over 70 yrs. Door staff was also very attentave and though a little of a sales man was helpful, not pushy. There are 3 computers for guest use and pretty fast too. Rooms were average in size and basic in ammenities, fridge, water boiler and large LED TV with many channels including CNN, HBO and even Channel News Asia. Aircon was a little small and noisy. Window unit which is now seldom used. Breakfast was just OK. Instead of juices there were 4 large bottle drinks(Coke, sprite etc), which I thought was not really good for the breakfast. Yes, would like to stay there again.
Great Location and Nice Services”
I came back to this hotel after my Siem Reap(Angkor Wat) trip, certainly for its good location and nice services. I have seen some poor comments here about this hotel, just to remind that this is a 3-stars hotel with very resonable price, should not judge based on 5-stars hotel standard. However for transfer to airport, the hotel charged $10, tutuk is much cheaper at $4 since the distance is not far (about 10 minutes). I will still come back to this hotel again.
Fabulous hotel with great amenities”
This hotel is totally awesome! It's just a walking distance to some tourist spots and shops/restos. The thought of being in an "Asian" hotel excites and it didn't disappoint me. The staff were very accommodating. The hotel amenities are great! The room is so Asian, and also the lobby. It's equipped with everything you need. They have other tour services too like taxi, buses, etc to other tourist destinations. The room is so spacious & comfy. The foods are great! I'll definitely come back here!
Good location but useless staff”
location of hotel is good cos very close to surya bus station & central market where you can buy clothing, footwear, jewelry, flowers & even a wet market on one side. found one shop selling clothes, souveniers etc. which many malaysians visit & some people in the shop including the lady-owner, can speak the malay language quite well. (malaysians take note). prices are good but you must bargain to half or may be even less as they know that you are a tourist. food is good & prices are reasonable & i can't really say expensive compared to prices in malaysia & phnom penh being the city. phnom penh is crowded compared to siem reap & has heavy traffic with quite a lot of motor bikes. i saw 2 motor bike accidents within a few hours (not serious accidents) as traffic flow is not in a proper order. (if you are fast, you can beat it). if you are interested in live shooting (live ammunition), you can try your hands on many types of stuff in phnom penh. killing fields is a must visit for all. i believe you need to spend 2-3 days in phnom penh to see the place.
