We want a short vacation where: • We want to go shopping (at least for my missus) • Everything is just nearby • No hassle getting around • Nice accommodation • Air-conditioned comfort everywhere • Somewhere we been too many times to care what’s going on outside The answer: Mid-Valley Megamall and the St. Giles The Gardens Hotel and Residences This vacation is during the 1 week March school holidays. We booked a two-bedroom unit for us and another family (my wife’s sister). This time, we took a Malaysian Airlines flight from Singapore to KLIA. We then proceed to take the KLIA Express to KL Sentral. From there we took a KTM Kommuter train down to Mid-Valley station (it is just 1 station away). Total journey was ok even though we do get confused by the lack of proper signage at KL Sentral. There are actually 2 malls in Mid-Valley – the main mall where ‘normal’ stuff is sold and the Gardens Mall: an upmarket mall. When you reach the area where there are branded items and the crowd suddenly thins out…you know you’re in the Gardens mall. Mid – Valley Megamall has 3 hotels connected directly to it (as far as I know as I have stayed in all 3). The Cititel – a budget, training hotel; the Boulevard- a business hotel and The Gardens, their premier hotel. The Gardens hotel is easy enough to find, even though there are two lobby, one for the hotel and another for the Residences. It was walking in familiar surroundings. In fact, I think it’s the 3rd time we’ve been here. Probably 6th or 7th time we’ve stayed in Mid Valley. We arrived around 5pm at the Residence lobby. Checking-in was easy and very quick. There was no fuss. Only thing was there was no porter to bring our luggage. No big issue. No tips then! The room itself was nice. It has a master bedroom with a King bed and en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and wc A second bedroom with 2 super-single bed with an en-suite bathroom and a rainwater shower. I have stayed at St Giles Boulevard and apart from the pool, would put Cititel only a star behind 4.0 stars. But I didn't need a pool so Cititel was for me better value for money. The only issue was that we stayed during a public holiday weekend so the lifts were a wait but on a normal day, fine. Comfy and good sized rooms, great service from all the staff, courteous and with a smile. Internet was a bit slow as in most Malaysian hotels but they have a free networked computer that is quick for the important computer matters. Reason to choose Cititel and other Mid Valley hotels is the Mid Valley Mall. Apparently smaller than One Utama but personally better shopping and eateries at Mid Valley and easier for public transport as next to a rail. There may be a rail in a few years to One Utama but for now, Mid Valley.

There are 3 hotels in Mid Valley - rank from cheapest to most expensive: - Cititel Mid Valley Hotel - Boulevard Mid Valley Hotel - Garden Mid Valley Hotel So, Boulevard is the more cost effective - in terms of price and comfort, in Mid Valley. Traffic ard Mid Valley is very crowded and jammed. But, there's plenty of good shops - branded and non-branded with in Mid Valley Mall (less branded shops) and Garden Mall (more branded shops). Food choices are aplenty, with some till 12mid night. The air-con was not very cold in this trip (even after they repaired it), but was ok in my last trip. Service is good, 24hour in-room dining, comfortable room. The only real complain is their Internet - chargeable and rather slow. Location is about 20min to KL city, by taxi. In-between KL City and Petaling Jaya. If you intend to stay in Mid Valley, I'll still recommend Boulevard to you.

Hotel is new, beautiful and very clean. Excellent location with a link bridge connecting to the opposite Nexus Bangsar South Connexion Convention Centre where we attended a seminar. There are restaurants nearby at the Nexus opposite, and a 7-eleven below the hotel. Short cab/grab away to nearby Mid Valley Megamall for lots of shopping and food choices. Some hotel front desk staff are friendly, customer service level is acceptable, but can be improved for front desk staff. Breakfast spread is quite good. Read a few reviews on hearing announcements from the mosque, but we didnt hear so when we stayed at Level 8.

I was surprised by this hotel, it was like a boutique version of a Hilton. I found it quite comfortable and at a great price! I doubt you can find better for the price. I love boutique because of the romantic atmosphere and this was quite close. Caution! I made the assumption that this place was at Mid-Valley mall and it is not. It is located at mid-valley area, but not at the mall. You will have to take a taxi to Bangsar area where this place is located (and not all taxi drivers will know where it is because it's a new hotel). I didn't eat much here but I did order a "big burger" for room service and it was really good. The hotel is close to Bangsar which is really good for local food ($16RM by taxi there and back). I would definitely come back!!!!

Location is probably the only concern with no access to public transport but taxi is readily available and cheap in KL. Not quite in Bangsar area as indicated by the Booking Agent but only 10 minutes by car to Mid Valley if you want shopping. There's a modern shopping centre right next door with plenty of food choices and hotel breakfast is very good with reasonable variety to suit most. Room is spacious and clean with basic amenities, while no luxury but excellent value for money – good choice for commercial traveler, particularly if you are not working in the main city area. The best experience is the great hospitality extended by the hotel staff which certainly makes up any down-side of the offering.

I stayed in a twin room in this hotel, and I must be honest it has been a pleasant surprise! First and foremost, the location is one of the advantage. If you want to stay here just for the sake of shopping at Mid Valley Megamall, sorry to disappoint you that you can only take grab to go there. With that said, it is situated literally above Kerinchi LRT Station, which makes travelling by public transport very convenient. The bed is another plus point. For it's price, it's really really comfortable, and the size of the room is really pleasantly big too! It's reasonably clean as well, and there is a gym for you if you would love to workout over there. All and all, I'll definitely come back and stay here again in the future.

The hotel located at Old Klang Road which is near to Mid Valley. The hotel looks new and clean. It is well decorated. Poor WIFI connection. At the ground floor of the hotel, there is a cafe selling foods and drinks 24 hours. The foods and drinks are quite nice. There are no public transport access at the hotel. You may need to walk to Mid Valley KTM station. You need to cross some roads, highways and also some tunnels in order to reach Mid Valley. Recommended for those that have own transports.

The place was like a home away from home and we met the owner who was incredibly friendly and helpful. Whilst the place is very quiet, beneath you have the Tesco for foot and goods shopping and for younger folk there is a number of bars and clubs for night time entertainment. It is a little self contained so if your desires stretch beyond the immediate block, then a short Uber ride away takes you to the Mid Valley shopping mall with all its delights of shopping, eating and play areas for kids. Interesting place to stay if you fancy residing in an alternative part of KL to the more common KLCC areas.

The reason i had chosen this residence its because it's near to 4 big shopping mall which are bangsar village, bangsar shopping centre, mid valley city, the gardens mall. So, its will be very convinient for me to have my lunch around with my friends. Well, the room was superb clean and spacious which is another reason i had choose here. Most importantly the price are reasonable!

Love the place. It’s a loft so bear in mind that there’ll be stairs up to the bed. Stairs are a little steep but it’s a loft! Also there is no toothpaste for the place so bring yours. Otherwise all great!! Nice facilities. Love the sauna. Location is central and strategic. Easy car rides to mid valley. Check in was smooth. Car park was possible. Rooftop bar is there. I stayed on 12th floor so the view is nice too. Definitely will come back if returning to KL.

The unit I stayed in is clean, tastefully designed with practical use in mind. Feels like a home away from home. With well-equipped kitchen, air-conditioned living room - TV subscriptions over 100 channels, bedroom, 2 bathrooms and even laundry machine with detergent supplied. Truly well designed space - I had a mind to ask to be introduced to the interior designer. Convenience stores and food eateries are conveniently located at Ground and 1st floor of the building. Clubs and eateries opens well into the night for a supper/entertainment. However, the unit I stayed in is high enough that no noises reaches the floor and I had a well night rest. Will definitely be my first choice in future business and leisure travel to KL. Check in/out is very convenient and the staff were very kind and responsive. The concierge is from 9am - 6pm so its best to arrive during the working hours for smooth check-in or else to inform the staff well in advance of estimated arrival time.

Due to the location of the hotel , it took us more than 3 hrs to reach the hotel ( from LCCT) due to the heavy traffic jam around Mid Valley Shopping Mall. Another issue you might find is parking space, I am pretty lucky to able to get a secure parking in front of the hotel restaurant ( only can park one car). But once you step into the hotel you will be greeted by the friendly staffs ( don't be feel scare or offended by the loud speaking manager , he is in fact very friendly and helpful) and very modern design. We stayed @ the Amore Suite which is on the highest floors ( have to take the stairs but the friendly staff more than willing to lend you a hand with your heavy luggage . The Room size is on the small side but it make up by the design , cleanness, facilities ( TV has so many channels ) and good isolation from the traffic noise. Lastly the location is very convenient , there is a 7 eleven just next door and a nice bakery shop few blocks down. Finally it only will took a 2 min walk to Mid Valley Mall ( Shopping heaven ) . Highly recommend !

Convenient location with basic hotel facilities ( with wifi, air conditioner and astro TV) 2 Queen size beds and 1 toilet. I booked for friend. They were satisfied with the money paid. Which you couldn't find other places with such a good deal. Many kopitiam or cafe surroundings. Easy access to kl, bangsar, pj , Puchong or seremban highway. Cons are parking is a bit headache. With patience you will find one.
