Absolute Paradise”

anantara kihavah was absolutely unforgettable. my wife and i did many weeks of research before our trip - we had never been to the maldives before. kihavah got rave reviews, and all were well-deserved. the resort opened in february 2011 and is still sparkling. they have hosted roger federer and cristiano ronaldo and they treated my wife and i as if we were celebrities. the service is truly special. the general manager hosted a cocktail reception on the fourth night at one of the presidential villas. he has been in the hotel industry for many years, and he speaks with great reverance about kihavah (and for good reason). the owners took pride in making this a truly spectacular resort. our villa was huge and the outdoor patio and pool were great. we enjoyed the hammocks over the water, the day bed in the shade and the loungers in the sun. the views are amazing. the room is extremely well-appointed with a nice tv and stereo. the food was spectacular. the breakfast buffet absolutely surpassed our expectations -- there are so many choices, and all of it is top quality. the lunch options are limited -- stick to breakfast and dinner. we just nibbled on fruit and light snacks most days for lunch. for dinner, sea is a special experience. underwater with lots of fish watching you, and the coursed dinner and wine pairings are spot on. salt was a nice asian-themed restaurant. fire does a lovely teppenyaki. manzaru was really superb - especially the risotto. i will say, the prices are steep, but i'm sure it is costly to get the food/drink to this remote location! we did spend more than anticipated on food and drink (approx. usd over 5 days), so just go prepared. i can't say enough nice things about this resort. special shout-out to jenny in the dive center - she was a very patient and helpful instructor, and i'm now a padi open water certified diver!

Welcome to Paradise!”

Booked a 3d2n stay at Anantara Kihavah as a birthday treat for myself. Upon arrival via seaplane to the resort, we were warmly welcome and greeted by the staffs. Beautiful view, clear blue sea, fine sandy beaches, reef sharks around the jetty area, awesome house reef (Yellow wall) for divers! Each villa will be assigned a butler who will take care of you during your stay. My butler, Mujey, was an awesome guy who is friendly and helpful! Upon arriving at my villa via the buggy, i was surprise by the birthday decorations that they did it up for me. (although it was planned and requested by my partner prior to that) It's a sweet and nice gesture from the management. about the birthday experience at Anantara, i was given a free champagne at 12midnight on my birthday (sent over to my villa via the house keeping) a free birthday cake which taste very good and was given to me while i was dining in SEA restaurant for dinner. After my birthday dinner, when i got back to the villa, i realise that the management sent house keeping to redecorate the villa with candles and flowers which of course make everything very nice and romantic. kudos for the effort and let just say that it was indeed a very good and awesome experience. While i was staying at the resort, it seems like most of the staffs there get to know you by your name which is quite surprising. My booking was a full board inclusive stay. For breakfast we get to dine at plates (restaurant) for buffet, apart from the buffet spread being quite standard but large variety of food (i had 2 mornings of same buffet spread, was hoping to see something different each morning though), one good thing was we can order for some other food from the breakfast menu if we do not get what we want from the buffet section. Another plus point and thing to take note is that ONLY during breakfast you get drinks included. 1. Too much Chinese couples and families. Maybe due to the festival holidays, 'coz the last day when we left more than 10 Chinese couples/families left with us and the same sea-plane dropped many non-asian faces. Anyway, the island have leaned how to attract Chinese people and opens good policies. So many have came recently although it is not a low cost resort. Even we've been told that there was an private report to show how Anantara knows Chinese people. The traditions, customs, habits etc... In another way of thinking, it was a good thing. You can find Chinese speaking hosts of the room, servants and chef in restaurants, secretary in SPA center, and even coach in diving center. Here we'd give our special thanks to our host and diving coach, and so many other guys. In addition, all the Chinese guys on the island are very nice, even the kid are well educated not to make much noise. That helped a lot 'coz frankly speaking, we're a very noisy nation and sometimes it would ruin a quiet romantic honeymoon. The amazing thing is, we've made friends with lots of people unknown when sunset fishing, snorkeling, para-sailing, and in Yoga. Some couple in the same city still kept in touch with us. So, it cannot to be judged if too many Chinese people were good or unpleasant thing, although we planned to take an island with exotic experience at the beginning. 2. The thing that disappointed us a little was the PRIVACY. Beach is free to walk on, but anyone could see and hear the Beach Villa's movement. You can enter the rooms if you want to try. We didn't stay in Beach Villa bu one couple we met on island told us they felt not comfortable even believing everyone in the resort are educated man and nobody wants to enter their room to see what they're doing at night. And for the Water Villa, the opened design was great but, if your neighbor talked loud, you can hear them even you're inside of your room with door closed. The funn

Honeymoon Trip ”

Excellent! on the stay, services provided by the Villa Host and Staffs,they are friendly and helpful, will work out on your request. OverWater Villa is very nice for a couple , privacy space for two. Had a dinner at Fire, Japanese Teppanyaki, worth the price. The massage is so far the best I had. Due to the bad review on the over price of the lunch and dinner at the SEA, I just went to Wine testing for a hour, USD 85 per person (excluded taxes), One glass of wine per person and three titbits for two persons. I personally think is expensive, just pay for the experience and take few photos in,treat it like expensive aquarium ticket.

BEST HOLIDAY EVER!”

It was the best honeymoon stay ever. The waters were very clear and the staff were extremely friendly. Our villa host, Ishaaq, was the most amazing butler who fulfilled our every needs. We went snorkelling and saw beautiful manta rays near our resort. The over water villa was amazing and it was private, super comfortable and we didn't want to leave. We will definitely come back to Anantara again coz it really is a paradise on earth!

MISLED BY AGODA INFO - 'complimentary daily lunch"”

We booked Anantara Kihavah just a couple of hours before we got on the plane to Maldives. Due to limited time, we picked this hotel for its high score reviews and the benefits. Everything goes fine until we discovered that we've been misled by the hotel's website statement "Complimentary daily lunch buffet" which was actually an expired benefit back in 2012. So we gotta pay for the all the luncheons we consumed there. We asked for a waiver due to the misleading statement but was declined by the hotel although they admitted that the 'free lunch' was outdated. Nothing's been done as compensation whatsoever, a mere 'sorry'. DISAPPOINTED. Will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

Maldives paradise at Anantara Kihavah ”

We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed every minute! Everything went seamlessly and the facilities and staff were amazing. Our host Bronji was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble, in fact he thought of things before we even asked. The over water villa was everything we hoped for and more with a gorgeous private pool and the bicycles and buggies to get around the island were a perfect solution and a minimal impact transport option. I scuba dived several times and I found Flora, Maria and Bo very helpful and patient and they helped me make the most of each dive. The underwater restaurant was probably the highlight with spectacular fish life and an excellent selection of food and wine. Jenny often greeted us for our breakfast or dinner and she is an absolute delight taking extra special care of every need. The seafood at the resort (although not all local) was as good as it gets. Gorgeous with Superb Hospitality”

it was absolutely wonderful - the experience begun the moment we exited the arrival hall. we were sent by car to a private Anantara waiting lounge at the seaplane terminal. upon arrival at the resort, we were given a quick tour of the resort in a buggy. our room was absolutely wonderful - perfect view and had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. every staff always had a warm smile and greeting every time we saw them, and you can tell the staff are not just greeting you out of obligation. they were never intrusive and it felt like we had made friends by the end of our stay.

Heaven on earth ”

Me and my husband stayed this amazingly beautiful resort almost for 5 nights and it was very delightful. You have to get the sea plane from the Male international airport and it will take around 35 minutes to the most beautiful place you have ever seeing. Just like you picture heaven to be. We really enjoyed the under sea restaurant and food which was an amazing experience. All the staff were very friendly and at the reception you will always be welcomed by nice smiles and make you feel like home. Rooms were specious, clean and calm, out favourite was definitely the water villa. The Sunset view from sky bar was amazing, highly recommend. Highly recommend this resort. We were celebrating our honeymoon and it was like a dream, absolutely perfect. Will definitely return one day.

A very nice stay there, all staffs have nice smiles, they are very polite and friendly. Rooms is very big and comfortable. A lot of choices for the breakfast. Dinner in Fire Restuarant is very memorable. Enviroment is beautiful, trees, flowers, everything... Amazing water and on water sports which makes me enjoyed so much. Also need to thanks to Hebe, my nice host.
