We had a wonderful time at Mr. Charles hotel. It is very centrally located. Rooms are simple but comfortable. Good breakfast and most importantly, staff are very friendly and helpful. We did two tours with their tour agency and both were great. They rent bikes and provide a ton of useful information. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful Place ”
Breakfast was one of the best I had in Myanmar. Well served in a charming dining room looking out to the flower gardens outside, the breakfast is simple but delicious, with hot tea or coffee to start your day in a mountainous region. Owner and staff very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are good size with TV, wifi, in room coffee pot, and safe. They have a bathtub and shower in a nice size bathroom. The atmosphere is very relaxing and there are a lot of places to eat nearby. I highly recommend staying here if you are going to Hsipaw.

Great hotel/ guesthouse”
I only stayed one night because I’m rushing through My final days in Myanmar, but the service was great, the staff were helpful and polite. Free pickup from the train and the food was incredible, it was buffet breakfast for both hotel and hostel visitors and it was by far the best I have had in Myanmar. A little more pricey than other hostels but for the extra price you pay, you get in food. Definitely worth it and recommend to all!!

Central Location and Helpful Staff”
Mr. Charles seems to be a popular spot for foreigners visiting this area. I appreciated the convenience of location and advice on what to do. They were able to get someone to take me up to Sunset Hill on their motorbike at the last minute, I really enjoyed renting a bike and riding down to the Mr. Charles Riverside location (which would be a nice place to stay as well if I had more time and wanted to be more secluded). They got me a private taxi to Lashio (there were no shared taxis they said, which made it pricey, but I opted not to go via bus or train b/c they left to early in the AM). The double room in the hotel was totally fine, but as a word of warning, the wi-fi connection is pretty unstable. I usually use my hotspot from cellphone in Myanmar anyways.

Ok hotel. Biggest business of the city”
It's the biggest business in the town. They have a guesthouse and right beside it another big house which is a hotel. They also own a lodge by the river. We stayed at the hotel which shares common areas with the guesthouse since they are together: restaurant and breakfast area. We rented a motorbike for 20000 kyats and were told to return it at 5 pm.( Expensive in comparison with other places we later learned) On the second night we got food poisoning with their vegetable tempura, spent all night very ill and so had to ask to stay another night. 1) when informed about the food poisoning none of the employees seemed to care. 2) Asked for higher pricefor the extra night for the room we had. We had to stay there another night because we were too weak but next day as soon as I felt better I changed to another place. They do organize trekking. They don't always turn the power generator on which means during dry season (40°/100F) it gonna be very warm in your room. Generally speaking it is an ok hotel but Mr Charles looks very cheap on some details.

Internet is not the best (I understand that in all Hsipaw it is like this) the hot water is waiting a few minutes, but then it goes well (we also understand that in all places the same thing happens) in the reception room you can use a desktop PC . Free hot / cold water service at all times We recommend and would stay here again.

Comfortable hotel near Namtu road, central market ,near riverfront. ”
Fluently speaking english, the staffs are very helpful. Breakfast is served on the ground floor With western style and Shan style. Disadvantage is wifi connection , only good spot at the lobby.

Convenient location, great room at the hotel, great breakfast, staff spoke very well English, and we can book bus tickets and rent bicycles directly at hotel! our room was quite noisy tho with the water pipes and some other sounds from utilities, and some stains on the bed sheets.
