Great Value for Money
This boutique, mid-range hotel is located within a recreation club. While the rooms are a little small, they open on to a large communal terrace with fantastic views, especially at night. The breakfast is extensive, as are the swimming, work-out and sporting facilities. The meals served in the different restaurants are all very reasonably priced and generous (though you may not always get exactly what you ordered...) It's about 2 mins walk to City Hall MRT. There is a dress code (especially for men) within the Club, so you'll need to be prepared to dress up abit. The staff are friendly though some would benefit from some customer service training. All in all, great value, facilities and location. We'd stay here again.

Good position near the centre of town
The hotel is easy to get to from the airport and the view from our window was excellent (the football oval) although the view from other rooms may not be so good. The place is really just rooms attached to the recreation club and does not really feel like a hotel. The facilities would be as you would expect from a sports club. The staff were efficient enough and the rooms were a reasonable size for Singapore and clean enough although probably in need of a make over. What let the whole place down was the breakfast which was very ordinary and had no vegetarian options except fried tomatoes, a very unsympathetic staff and restaurant manager, and a coffee machine which broke down on every second cup of coffee. All in all I would rate this hotel as good but let down by the breakfast.

Great location! Big room!
I've stayed in Singapore many times and I always try to stay in hotels that cost less than $12o (which is not easy in Singapore). Of all the hotels I've stayed in, this one had the biggest rooms and the best location. The Esplanade Theatre, Raffles Hotel, the Art Museum and the City Hall MRT Station/Shopping Mall are all within a 5 minute walk. Boat Quay, the Asian Civilizations Museum and the Merlion are within a 10 minute walk. It's a 5-minute MRT ride (with no transfers) from CityHall MRT Station to Orchard Road's shopping. The rooms are clean and well-kept and reasonably modern. The breakfast buffet is in an ugly cafe, but the food is great (if you like a Western breakfast): eggs made to order, 5 types of fruit and about 10 kinds of bread and bakery items, 3 or 4 types of cereal, and a similar number of types of fruit juices, cheeses and yogurts, bacon and beans with your eggs, and a few Asian breakfast items as well (fried rice, congee,..) The views from the Central Business District-facing rooms are GREAT, since you look over a football/cricket pitch directly at the CBD. There a few (minor) complaints: internet is not fast; quite a bit of outside noise gets into the room (i.e. noise from other rooms; noise from other floors; noise from the hallways) and not all taxi drivers know where it is (so you need to carry a map that shows its location). There are very few rooms (20 or so, it appears), so check-in and check-out are quick and you don't have to worry about the hotel being filled with tour groups. I'd definitely stay again.
