Charming resort across the river from Amphawa town
Quiet, cutely decorated, and a bit funky
This was an overnight trip to participate in Loy Krathong, the Thai festival in which little lotus-shaped krathongs are floated in a body of water as an offering to the water spirits. Loy Krathong is extremely beautiful in Amphawa with thousands of candle-lit krathongs floating down the Maeklong River. Amphawa is otherwise a very sweet place and its weekly floating market is worth a visit. The Banpeeaum Ruanpeetong Amphawa Resort turned out to be a series of small, charmingly furnished wooden bungalows connected by walkways over the partly flooded grounds. My bungalow had everything I could have needed, including mosquito netting (not necessary this time) and mini-bar. Breakfast was very Thai - possibly disconcerting for those not used to this cultural difference. This resort is twice as expensive as a local homestay, though, and perhaps not twice the value. NOTE: The resort is NOT in Amphawa Town as portrayed in Agoda's location map, but ACROSS THE MAEKLONG RIVER from the main town. This is not really a problem. It may even add to its charm. The resort runs a complimentary boat to a pier at the southern tip of the town to take guests back and forth whenever they want. But initially finding the resort proved to be a real hassle what with Agoda's incorrect map and a totally useless Thai postal address, and if it weren't for an extremely kind local lady who brought me to the pier in the rain, I would have been at a total loss.

Resort style in the heart of town
Great location and tucked away off the main street. Nice large rooms and lovely breakfast
The fitness center is well maintained. The breakfast has a nice variety. The rooms are huge with seperate living and sleeping quarters. The showers are oversized and they have a large whirlpool tub as well. Hard to go wrong with this hotel. The best value for the money that I have seen in Bangkok. You won't be disappointed with this hotel.

My Bangkok Oasis
Brilliant location, stylish suite, big pool, great breakfast buffet
This is something like my fifth or sixth extended stay at Amanta Ratchada and the salient points remain the same. Location is great, right beside the MRT station and Esplanade Mall, away from the tourist jungle but 15 minutes from Sukhumvit on the MRT. The suite is stylish and good quality. The pool is clean and inviting. The breakfast buffet has scrumptious Asian food every morning. One negative point, though. Right now (November, December 2012) a big building is being constructed next door and the overall noise level is unfortunately quite high. In particular, try to avoid staying in a City View suite in Building A, which is right next to the construction site. The noise level is OK in Builidng B, though. But the ambient noise level in the pool and breakfast area is unfortunately rather high. The construction starts at about 08:00 each day and ends at dusk, so it won't affect your sleep. Earlier, there were a lot of problems with the wifi internet connections in some areas of the complex. But now they've installed a router in every room and the speed and signal strength are ideal.

Excellent and comfortable apartment
Large spaceous apartment
We stay at Amanta every time we visit Bangkok which is 3-4 times a year as the apartments are outstanding and great value. Well fitted out with comfortable facilities it is a great place to stay. Just off the main highway in a quiet cul de sac - it is convenient to local shopping and within easy reach of the airport too as next to the metro

Big serviced apartment in good location
location, breakfast, room size
amanta ratchada is a nice serviced apartment and much bigger/private than a hotel. given its location (next to esplanade mall - basically a cinema with some restaurants/cafes - not much shopping) the price is very good. it's a 1-2 min walk to the subway and the new giant central rama 9 shopping mall is a 10 min walk (or one subway stop). the buffet breakfast is also good with a wide selection or food (cereal, western cooked breakfast, omelettes, rice, noodles, thai food, cakes/pastries, etc). it's not the best food you'll have in thailand but its decent enough in the morning. overall i'd recommend it and will probably stay again given the rooms are double the size of an average hotel (around 54-69sqm) with similar facilities (pool, gym, breakfast) at roughly the same price.
