Great location with a fantastic restaurant”
i would highly recommend the navalai river resort. the hotel is in a great location. right on the river at ferry stop 13 which means that there is easy access to the main temples and the grand palace. you can also get the boat down to the sky train which takes you to the malls. the hotel is also a 5 minute walk from khoa san road, the main tourist street in bangkok. there are plenty of restaurants, stalls and amenities just outside the hotel. we also stayed on sukhomvit road and had a 60-90 minute commute into the tourist area each day so location is a big factor when choosing a hotel in bangkok. the hotel also has a great restaurant right on the river.it nevers seems overbusy but i don't know why as it was the best food we had in bangkok. the rooms themselves are nicely decorated and well maintained. don't expect the same as you would get at one of the 5 star resorts but they are still modern and reasonably spacious. please note that a city view room seems to mean that you get a room overlooking the road which can be noisy with traffic and bars. the cheapest rooms (serene corner rooms) are in the middle of the hotel and whilst they overlook the next building they are much quieter. we actually asked to downgrade to get a quieter room so don;t bother paying the extra! if we went back to bangkok we would definitely consider staying here again.

A great place to stay”
I was quite pleased with my stay at the Navalai River resort. The hotel is conveniently located within a walking distance from major tourist attraction and right on the banks of the Chao Praya River. The staff at the reception was helpful and the check-in process took less tha 2 minutes. The lobby is nicely decorated and contributes to a welcoming atmosphere. The room I had booked, "Serene corner room" was also nice, had a decent size, a large balcony, nice furniture and a relaxing bathroom. I guess this type of room was a better choice than the ones facing the main road as my room was very quiet. Since I had asked for a room in the higher floors, the view was nice and the river could be seen from the balcony. I haven't had a chance to stay in one of the river view rooms but a great view could be seen from the top floor, where there is also a swimming pool. The price I got for the room with my online reservation was reasonable. Living myself in Thailand, I often go to Bangkok for short business trips. The Navalai River Resort will be my choice for my next trips.

My favorite Bangkok hotel”
The Navalai has become my go-to place in Bangkok when I come here to use the National Archives, which are located up Samsen Road. What I like best is the familiarity of the rooms: the design and quality of the furnishings is right up there with a good western hotel, but with a distinctively Thai flair. I love Phra Arthit Road's small cafes and old Thai mansions (several princes had houses along this road), and at nighttime it's quite the hotspot for local (Thai) hipsters to come and hang out. If you're not into that, the Navalai is nice and quiet -- at least, the "serene corner" and "river view" rooms are. :-) The restaurant downstairs has a lovely river view, and the breakfast buffet has really nice variety on offer. Typically the spread includes ham & bacon, scrambled eggs, various breads for toast, croissant and baguette, cold cereals, fresh fruit, and yogurt (not to mention an Asian breakfast option as well). Though there is tea and juice on offer, their fresh coffee can't be beat. When you are too tired from sightseeing to leave your room, you can room service, although it's a little pricey. (For cheaper drinks and snacks, try the 7-Eleven downstairs, or any one of the vendors down the street.) In addition to the 7-Eleven, there's an ATM in the front of the building, and a money-changing booth just up the street. Lots of buses and taxis coming along this street at all hours. Oh, and don't forget the riverside park next to the Old Fort at the end of the street. It's easy to get around town from here, too -- whether by river boat (15 baht will get you all the way to the Saphan Thaksin bridge SkyTrain station) or a taxi (about 60 baht to Siam Square, where you can also pick up the SkyTrain). The Grand Palace, National Museum and Thammasat University are very close by as well. Enjoy!

Great Hotel Great Location in Bangkok”
Navalai River Resort is a great hotel with lovely rooftop pool, good facilities and easy access to the tourist attractions we wanted to see. With the Phra Arthit pier out front we could catch the ferries to all the major tourist attractions, such as Wat Arun, Royal Palace, Recling Buddha, Chinatown and Asiatique, at a fraction of the cost of the Hop On Hop Off Tourist boat. The bus stop out front meant we could catch the num 3 or 524 buses to Chatuchak Markets and the S1 bus back to the airport at the end of our holiday. (all really cheap too!) The tourist travel agent across the road organised some terrific trips for us. And on a Sunday afternoon the little lane across the road is transformed into a Muay Thai Boxing stadium where top class fights can be watched for free as they are televised live on Bangkok TV as Super Champ Mauy Thai! A great hotel and great staff, not all who could speak English, but were all very helpful. Great restaurant downstairs too!

An excellent find in the Khoa San Area”
An excellent find in the heart of Bangkok backpacker district. We were looking for a place to relax in comfort yet venture out into the crazy backpacker area of BKK when we wanted. This is the perfect place for this. Navalai is a proper hotel with all the amenities you would expect including a great pool on the roof overlooking the city and the river. The pricing is very reasonable and you do get a bit more than you pay for. Our only concern was that the aircon in our room did not work; however after reporting this we were immediately given another room for the night and the aircon was fixed first thing in the morning. We highly recommend this hotel if you plan to be in the Khoa San area but dont want to backpack as it is a very short walk to the road along other great little back roads with awesome restaurants, massage places and shops / stalls. We have actually rebooked our last night in Thailand back at Navalai as we know we will be comfortable and we know our surroundings. We will; however check the aircon immediately on arrival. You can also catch the river taxis right from the hotel and arrange a longtail tour of the canals from the longtail guys sitting on the pier. The longtail tour was a highlight for us.

Best location and very welcome service”
This was the 4th time of us to stay in this hotel and we have never upset of the service we were granted. We arrived the hotel quite early in the morning, before the check-in time, but the front desk were really kind to us to let us wait for 30 minutes to get the room. The room, as always, was clean and nice. The only one problem was we couldn't control the temperature of the water in a shower, no matter how hard we tried. The temperature of the water was very swing!! Hot to cold, never had the medium range. Anyway, my husband up-graded our room the the river view side in the next day, still the temperature of the water in a shower of the new room was unchanged. I remembered that last time, we faced the same problem too. So if the hotel are reading this review, please solve this problem. All the things were nice, except this. If you are looking for the place that is comfy, friendly and very easy to travel, we would recommend you to Navalai River Resort. You will never be disappointed!

Fantastic location for sightseeing”
The area is definitely great for tourists, close to many of Bangkoks sights and to Soi Rambuttri and (if you must) Khao San Road. The Navalai River Resort is definitely a rare find in this area. With it’s location at the river it offers great views from the restaurant and the roof top pool. It has all the entertainment nearby without being too noisy. It is very stylish, clean and the staff is friendly. All that without being horribly overpriced. So, if this is the area of Bangkok you want to stay at, this hotel would be my top recommendation.

Nearly Perfect”
I recently had the pleasure to stay for 3 nights at the Navalai River Resort. Taxi from BKK was just over 400 baht, including tolls. I was able to check-in early. I stayed at a serene corner room and it was indeed very quiet. I barely heard any noise from adjacent rooms or the hallway. The balcony overlooked private housing next door; it was not scenic so I never spent any time on the balcony. Rooms were nicely furnished. Two bottles of water were replenished everyday in the in-room fridge. Breakfast was included in my stay; it is served from 6:30 to 10:30 every morning and offers a wide selection of hot buffet items, fresh fruit, pastries, and drinks. The rooftop pool is very small; if the pool is very important to your stay I would not recommend this hotel. Otherwise, Navalai is a fine choice in this area of Bangkok.

Pleasing Stay”
My first time staying at Riverside area. Riverside is close to KS and Navalai River Resort is a great choice. You can eat breakfast and catch the river taxi when it arrives. Inside the hotel you feel very relaxed. Hotel has a gym and sauna. The rooms are spacious and clean. I would avoid the city view room because their would be no privacy on the balcony and there is not much to see. Go for the river side view room and you will not be disappointed.

Charming and relaxing”
Navalai river resort Bangkok was a really nice meetingpoint to start my travelling through Asia. The rooms were lovely, the staff in the hotel as well in the restaurant were really friendly. The food was great When you don;t want to stay too long in Bangkok, this place is ideal because you can get easy on the boats at the pier and so you can avoid the hectic traffic in the town. I spend a great time here. I would go back.

worth”
I have booked Navalai River Resort Bangkok 3 months ago for the delxue river breeze room. It is because it has only 6 this type of rooms. It is great to enjoy your breakfast at the resturant downstairs as it just nearby the river. The buffet breakfast is delicious that we are so full, cannot eat our lunch anymore. Also, it is very close to Khao San Road but it is not easy for the taxi driver to find it. Overall, it is worth to live if u an book the river view breeze.

Great River Front Location ”
We had a very enjoyable stay at Navalai River Resort. The best feature of this hotel is its location which is right on the river front. The ferry/water taxi docks at the hotel which makes it very easy to get to the sky train and the tourist spots along the river banks. The hotel is also only 5 minutes walk from kao san road which has many restaurants, markets and other things of interest to tourist. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. I really liked this place and will return on my next trip to Bangkok.

Perfect spot for fun Bangkok weekend!”
I just spent the weekend with my boyfriend and a couple of our friends in Bangkok and do not regret choosing and staying at the Navalai!!! I did a LOT of research on this site as well as trip advisor because I really didn't want to end up staying in a dirty/seedy place. This is one of the few hotels in southeast asia that has actually lived up to the pictures on the hotel's actual website! It's situated right opposite Pier 13 and is in an easily walkable area. We hung out in Khao San Rd a few times as well as found it incredibly easy to hail a cab (and insist on meter) or tuk tuk (negotiate beforehand). On the first day, I walked to the National Museum, Grand Palace, and Wat Pho which was within 20 minutes and a nice way to take in the sights. The rooms are VERY well maintained and super clean. We each got a serene corner room and a balcony (the view wasn't great but not a big deal--I wouldn't even say getting the river view would be that much better since it's pretty polluted and overlooks some construction) The bed was SO comfortable and the curtains completely block out the sun in the morning so you could sleep in comfortably--also very quiet! It really did feel like I was staying in 5 star/top quality hotel but only paid about USD $60 (shared with my boyfriend so ~USD 120 total). The staff was awesome and very friendly. They tried to accommodate for us; for example, allowing us to check out an hour later than normal check out time since our flight was in late afternoon. Also helped me with directions to get to the various sites. If you want a good thai massage, I would just walk across the street of the hotel and not go to the one directly below it because it's only 180 Baht versus the 350 baht they charged at the hotel place. I think the one we went to is a couple doors down from a place claiming to be a "Lovetaurant" but I'm sorry that I forget the name--it's also immediately next to a street alley that leads you to Khao San Road. The pool is really nice.

Good Location”
We used Navalai River Resort as our home base while visiting Thailand. The hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. I would recommend getting the breakfast included in your stay, sitting on the patio restaurant is a nice way to start your day and the breakfast is substantial. The staff was very helpful with directions and helping us get a cab (cab drivers in Bangkok are selective on where they will drive you so getting one can be tricky. We were turned down by drivers on almost every first try to get somewhere). There are two things to be aware of when booking - Make sure you ask your room not face the main street as the open door bar across the street plays till midnight. If you need to store luggage other hotels do it for free this hotel charges per day.

Great Location”
Great compact little resort, very nice roof top pool overlooking Bangkok riverside. The hotel is situated right on the Phra Athrip river pier which is the starting point for the river tourist ferry. The ferry is 180 baht for a full day of hop on hop off exploring of the nearby piers. There is so much to do in this area you will not be bored. The hotel has a splendid breakfast included, The river view rooms are fantastic at night sitting on the verandah watching the many colorful dinner boats cruising the river. The rooms are not huge but are spotlessly clean and well appointed. One would not be disappointed staying here.

Great hotel in an excellent location”
Navalai Resort is a great hotel for a short or long stay in Bangkok. Its location is excellent, ideally located right on the Chao Phraya river and centrally located steps away from Khaosan Road. The nice and quiet Rambuttri road, with all its restaurants, is within 2 minutes walk. The room was clean and very spacious, with a great shower. Wifi is free, breakfast was nice and served right on the river, and the staff very friendly and happy to assist.

This is the 3rd time we've stayed at the Navalai River Resort. Its an excellent hotel, great location near decent bars and restaurants, right next to the river, easy access to the river taxi. Breakfast is great, can't complain about anything, will look to stay here again when we are next in Bangkok.

Stay at the Navalai in Bangkok - rivervieuw”
We'dd liked our stay in the Navalai River Resort in Bangkok. The rooms were very clean and beautifull and our room had a very nice rivervieuw. The location was very good due to two things : first of all there is that the stop of the rivertaxi who can take you through town stops just next to the hotel, second is that the Khao San Road-area with a lot of layback shops is in the neighbourhood, where you can do some good deals. There were some good, cosy and cheap restaurants on the other side of the road in front of the hotel , where you could eat Thai and Western food.

Great location and very good for the price ”
This hotel was in a great location and we were able to use the river ferries from the N13 stop which is literally right outside the hotel. For 14 baht each we could take the ferry down to riverside, china town and the grand palace/wat po (we were feeling lazy). The location is far away from the skytrain and also the central shopping district but a 100 baht taxi metre took care of that for us. The hotel itself was clean and fairly well appointed. The bathroom was fine and the shower good. The bed was very hard but king size which is always good. Free wifi made planning our bangkok itinery much easier. The pool area was lovely and overlooked the river for beautiful sunsets. Our balcony overlooked the hustle and bustle of the nearby street and there was a bar that was very popular among the thais and therefore quite noisy but we dont mind that, it didnt keep us awake. Also, we tried dinner at this bar and it was great!! The front reception staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous in choice and of ok quality. Overall, we would recommend this hotel for those whose main goal in Bangkok is not to hang out in the malls. Rambuttri street, although heavily touristed is a lovely place for a relaxing drink and foot massage (or both together ;)). Being so close to the ferry opened up a lot of the city to us. We would stay here again.
