The hotel is big, I mean really big. The reception is on 11th floor which is on top of 10 stories of parking garage. The rooms are situated in 3 towers (A,B,C), and go up to 30th floor. The pool area is just outside the reception and is nice and a bit breezy so you won’t feel the heat. The rooms are big but a bit retrofitted – and I don’t mean they have been made in retro stile. The breakfast is really good and offers something for everybody’s taste (from toast to salads, Thai and European and sweets). It is about 30 minute walk from Khao San and it would cost you from 60 to a 100B to get there by tuktuk. You’ll find one or rather they’ll find you as you get outside. Food market is on the other side of the canal. The hotel’s downsides: - For a hotel this big, I expected the staff to speak much better English. - The information desk is mostly for Russian tourists. They might help you, but unless you are one of them, the conversation will be brief. - The tour desk in the lobby is appalling. First of they speak poor English (I mean my tuktuk driver spoke better English) and what they offer is pricy (ie.: a private car to Safari 3500B – on the street you can get one for 800B/day easily). - And the worst part for me was, that internet wasn’t free. Not only it wasn’t free, it was about 600B/day – come on this is not 1997)

old hotel, centrally located
location
It is old hotel, but quite well located in the center of Bangkok , next to one of the market. In general age is very well visible. And if main areas (lobbys, restaurants, pool) are quite well maintenanced, so rooms are not and age is very visible - dirty walls, broken parts of furniture ect. (at least at suites tower, as we had apartment with 2 bedrooms) And only quite competitive price and impressive lobbys ( a lot of them ;) can have a positive impact for your decision to stay here. Breakfast is ok, with quite a good choice of asian and international dishes, but unfortunately Staff is horrible - not friendly, not customers focused. It is also visible when walking around hotel - it was very uncommon if a Staff member decided to tell you "good morning" or even make a smile... - strange for asian hospitality. There are 2 outside pools and this on 10th floor seems to be nicer to spend your spare time. In general - good location, good price but old rooms and not professional Staff.

large room but service is basic.
1. large room 2. quiet 3.lots of taxis outside hotel
Peaceful. Good - pool rather quiet, lots of taxis, near to shopping and tourist sites. Taxi using meter will cost you less than 100B Inconvenience - to go back to our room, must take a lift from L1 to L12. walk 3 min from L12 to another tower. then take a lift to your hotel room.

Stay somewhere else
Nothing good really
I always stay in resonably priced hotels in Bangkok and normally around the Sukhumvit area. This time, I wanted a hotel with a nice pool and so chose the Prince Palace.. What a mistake. Service is poor, rooms average. Pool is average. The worst thing is the location. It's simply dreadful. Cannot get to it easily and far away from the skytrain. Never again ! There are much better options in bangkok than this. You even have to pay for wifi.

Hotel good for 6 persons
1. Close to boat transport without jams 2. Close to low end shopping 3. Good to relax in the hotel
A big old with noisy air-conditioning, swimming pool closed too at 7.30 pm during weekend, good to have 6 persons in one suite, very close to fashion whole sale market and can move around with boat transport without jams.
