Nice hotel in good location, but oh those stairs!”

We stayed at the Mix Bangkok Boutique Hotel for two nights in March 2013 having previously stayed there for four days in February 2013 and for a week in December 2012. We liked our large room at the back of the hotel, away from all the traffic noise on the very busy Sukhumvit Road. The room was described as a Deluxe Garden View, but the garden has gone and there is a large building under construction with some daytime construction noise. The nights, however, were quiet. There is a stop for the excellent BTS skytrain line right outside of the front door of the hotel, which makes it very convenient for getting around Bangkok. The only negative about the hotel was the lack of an elevator and the absence of front desk staff to carry our bags up the many flights of stairs to our room on the fourth floor. We only have carry-on sized bags now, so I pity anyone who has a larger heavier case to lug up those stairs. Apart from this it was good value for money.

Nice room, great location”

I stay in this hotel for 3 nights with 3 others friends in deluxe garden suite. It spacious room for us with a lot of baggage, very clean and quite room, not noisy at all. There's little kitchen with stove, microwave and other kitchen tool if you want to cook/warm some food. Even more you get some light breakfast too (toast & fruit). What most I like from this hotel is the location is so great. Just a few step away from BTS Phra Kanong. But you should prepare to get some exercise because no lift at this hotel and my room is on 6th floor. Overall : Great value for money for The Mix Bangkok Boutique Hotel

Fantastic Hotel, you never expect the unexpected”

Although the hotel is a quite a distance away from the city centre and shopping heartland such as Siam and Chit Lom area, the location is super convenient as it's 10 steps away from the exit of the staircase of Phra Khanong BTS! I feel that in Bangkok, it's important to be staying either near bustling streets or steps away from a train station, and avoid hotels that require you to walk into dark alleys as it can be quite dangerous, so The Mix is definitely a good choice for budget travellers! A couple of staff at The Mix can speak fantastic and very fluent English, especially a long hair girl by the name of Mae. They are also very helpful. Mae even gave me directions by writing on a piece of paper with details on which BTS to drop, what shuttle bus to take and what's more?! The location in Thai language! Just in case the driver does not understand English alphabets! She even gave me her number so that in case I'm really lost, I could get the locals to call her and she can give them directions directly. Now the rooms. It's huge, clean, neat and tidy! Basic amenities are available, TV has many channels, coffee, tea, kettle, hot bathing water, toiletries, safe. But there's no refrigerator or bathtub, but I guess it's okay for budget traveller who don't really have time for these luxuries too. The entire setting of the boutique guesthouse really feels like home. The second storey is a living room with TV, computer, internet, simple breakfast. Complimentary wireless internet throughout the entire guesthouse, fast and easy to connect. There are also 2 convenient stores just on both sides of the exits. Turn left and go to family mart; turn right and head to a 24hour supermarket, with lotza food, drinks and what have you! Cons: A 5 storey guesthouse without lift, so only for those who can climb the stairs (or request for level 3, as I stayed at level 5!), a lil noise from the streets, but if you're really tired, nothing can wake you up.

nice accommodation at a reasonable pice”

we were three friends travelling to bangkok for the first time. we had a very pleasant stay at the mix - the hotel staff were very accommodating, breakfast was included in the hotel price, there was a common pantry equipped with a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, bread toaster, and water dispenser available for use of the hotel guests. the mix also stored our bags before check-in and after check-out at no extra charge. however, a refrigerator inside the hotel room would be well appreciated. thank you very much the mix!

Smart rooms with nice amenities”

thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the mix bangkok boutique hotel. proximity to bts station makes for easy access to the city. the hotel reception staff were exceptional and extremely helpful. i would recommend this hotel to family and friends alike.

Clean hotel, huge rooms, great location”

We stayed in the mix Boutique hotel for 3 days. It is perfectly situated right next to the Skytrain which brings you everywhere for little money. This hotel is definitively worth it's money. The rooms are huge, very clean and well maintained. Great beds and bathroom. There is a simple free breakfast and staff is very polite. There is no elevator, which was no problem for us. It is worth walking a few steps. We took the Garden view room as there is no traffic sound at that side. highly recommended. Next time in BKK we will stay here again!

Clean, non-smoking, well-equipped but no lift”

This hotel is best for healthy adults who don't mind carrying luggage up the staircases. Please note that it has no lift. It is orginally 2 shop houses and converted into a hotel. Though it is cozy and with chic decor and with friendly staff. It is not for those who needs lift. The first floor is half taken by a shop and thus the lobby is inside. You need to walk into the corridor to get to see the simple lobby. The second floor is converted into a lounge and a simple kitchen area with a microwave and a mini bar fridge. The lounge has 2 PCs and free Internet service. All rooms are located on 3th floor onwards. The room was so spacious and clean and well-equipped. I was surprise to see washing basin outside the restroom. I used it for washing clothes and dishes and also preparing milk for my kid. The big room I took has a leather sofa bed with extra pillow in the cabinet underneath the wash basin. So if you travel in a group of 3, take the big room and you will like it. I love the attitude of staff. They are helpful by nature. They are not the type of the service providers who help out just for tips. I booked 2 rooms for 4 adults and 1 toddler. My husband, my helper and I liked the hotel. My aged mother disliked it because she had a hard time walking up the stairs. However, no one can deny that the hotel has cleanliness and non-smoking quality that is so rarely found at this price and this location (Sukhumvit Road right next to Skytrain station). If I travel with all healthy adults, I would come back to this hotel for sure. Wonderfully convenient and valued for money.

Small but nice!”

Was the perfect place to stay between destinations. Would recommend it as a base to use while you hop around the country.We stayed in a room facing Sukhumvit Rd, so was pretty noisy. Also you can hear people walking on the wooden stairs so next time would request a room higher up and away from the main road. Wasn't a fridge in the room, which is a bit strange for a modern designed boutique hotel.

Lovely rooms and lovely staff - Lovely Hotel”

My partner and I were staying in Pattaya and travelling up to Bangkok to meet with a friend and go out for a few drinks before we leave. We had been in Thailand for 6 months and were off to Oz, so although we wanted a nice big room to get ready in, with easy access to BTS or MRT, our funds were limited. For all those things and more, we couldn't have chosen a better place! I had seen the room in the picture and really liked it, but having stayed in BKK a few times, I know that these pictures can be somewhat misleading. In this case, it was not. The room was big, shiny, clean and had a very new feel about it. There was a nice big desk with a bright lamp where us girls could do our hair and makeup. A nice big flat screen tv for the boyfriend to watch whilst we were getting ready. A fridge to store your bottles and a nice big window for natural light to ensure you wake up in the morning! The BTS is literally outside but we did not have any problems with noise on the garden view side. I would say however that if you are after a nice view then this is not a good choice. It is just a building site. But unless you are willing to pay a lot more and stay in one of the big expensive (well for thai standards) high rise hotels, you are never going to get much of a view in BKK. I read many complaints about there not being a lift but our room was only up 2 short flights of stairs so it wasn't a problem for us. I was very happy with our stay and for only 1,358.5 baht in total (under 453 baht each) we were more than happy. I was even more happy when, after checking out and later that evening, I realised I had left a brand new maxi skirt at the hotel and went back to see if it had been handed in, there was a different member of staff on the door and he allowed me to check the room, when it wasnt there he checked various store rooms and then phoned 2 of the cleaning ladies, one of whom had out it in a bag for safe keeping and so I got it back.

Small but decent hotel”

The hotel is small, I mean real small so you will probably have to have the taxi driver speak with the hotel to find it. The hotel is clean as are the rooms, which are simply furnished, but good enough for the price and location. Super easy to get around as the skytrain is directly out the front door of the hotel. Only con about it is no elevator and the deluxe rooms are on the top floor, but since this is a small boutique hotel this means only 4 floors.

Great location and area”

We were 3 ppl staying in one room; the room was large, nice decoration just like the pics showed on the web. Internet access at the room which we barely found in other hotels in Bangkok. The staffs don't talk too much but very intensive and nice when we ask for help. They don't really have a lobby but mostly we enjoy our time at the room so we have no problem about that. The best thing about this hotel is skytrain station right at the front door; very convenient after a long day of travelling and walking around the city. If there is any chance we could come back, we will ask for a room not next to the street 'cause the noise of skytrain and the highway. Anyway, will definitely book this hotel again next time; we found it worth our money, great location and peaceful area in one of the busiest cities in Asia.

strongly recommended budget hotel with good price ”

it is still new and the room condition is very nice and good, just like what you see from their picture. if you are looking for budget hotel with nice and clean room,perfect location (just next to the bts station), and good price, the mix bangkok is definitely strongly recommended. also, thanks a lot to the helpful staff who helped us to carry all our luggages to our room on 4th floor..it doesn't have a lift..

lovely hotel and convenient”

Excellent hotel for price clean and tidy, very friendly staff great service Carolyn was very helpful for things to look at as we have never been to Bangkok before. First night there we had a problem with the hot water but they quickly got someone out the very next day. Skytrain was literally at the front door great for shopping and sightseeing. Skytrain was an excellent way to get around with connections for river boats and subways and cheap. We had a Deluxe Garden Suite not much of a garden but that didn't matter as we didn't spend a lot of time in the room we had room 302. Internet had full service in this room. Very happy with this hotel for price and service would stay again.

Good hotel, close to skytrain”

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and while we didn't enjoy Bangkok we enjoyed our hotel and being able to shut the door to the city after a long day. When we arrived in Bangkok our taxi driver could 'not find' the hotel so beware of this and maybe have a map print out to they cant try to rip you off. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I would recommend asking for a room at the back of the hotel as the skytrain runs in front of the top floor of the hotel.

Good Hotel with Great Location and Superb Service”

At a first sight, i'm not sure it's gonna be a good hotel. considering it's outter looks. After check in at front desk, going to the room at 3rd floor by stair (no elevator provided). but when i get into the room, wooww.. it's nice and spacious room. good bed and bathroom. The room it's clean everyday and they make creation with the new and clean towel every single day. Not to mention the location of this hotel which just a downstair from BTS Station. So, you don't have to walk far and you can save your energy for travel. Overall, i'm sooo satisfied with this hotel and when i come back to bangkok, i definetely will stay at this hotel

Great location and large room”

the hotel is located just below the bts skytrain, which is great to travel in bangkok. the room for 2 adults and one child is big compared to the bathroom. the service is very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good with personal service for eggs and sausages. this hotel has a very good price quality ratio!

great location, friendly staff, and nice rooms”

the mix was a great stay. my wife and i stayed there for 10 days and were thoroughly satisfied. the location is phenomenal as you are literally between the two staircases up to the bts. the staff was very kind and welcoming. the rooms are fairly good size too and are clean and modern. we had complimentary breakfast daily and free bottled water, tea, and coffee in our room. for the money, i doubt you could do better than the mix.
