Consistently high standards of service by staff”
This was our second visit to Chiang Mai in last two years, both time staying at Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel because of its ideal location to Old City and Night Bazaar. We compared quality of service and accommodation, and concluded that we will come again to this hotel in the near future because of consistently demonstrated quality of service and convenient location. Their swimming pool is an excellent place to rest after daily excursions to various attractions which one can book in this Hotel's Reception area. In their neighborhood there are several places for excellent massage at modest prices. Hotel's interior is glamorous in Thai style, offerings live traditional music in evening hours, as well as western style classics for relaxation beside the bar. Popularity of this hotel has risen significantly since our first visit two years ago. This time the hotel was a "heaven" for hundreds of golf amateur players from China and Japan who obviously selected nice city and nice hotel for their stay. The only negative comment is about this Hotel's Gym. No treadmills, no elliptical trainers, only two bikes and outdated weight lifting devices. But this is easy to correct. All in all, this hotel is a very nice place to stay when in Chiang Mai.

Prime location for either leisure or business trip”
My friends and I were staying at Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel on 22-23 DEC. I know this hotel since 1985, after checked-in, this hotel made me big surprise as it is not like hotel with 30 year old age. Rooms are well maintained and furnished. Room size is big and window is wide that make us enjoyed the panoramic city view. Breakfast is fantastic for this 4 star hotel, we were firstly disppoint of the buffet line in the breakfast room but suddenly when we went out to the restaurant's corridor we were again enjoyed of many fresh cooked items including of Chinese doughnut, eggs station and Kanom krok. The corridor of the restaurant will make you more tasty in winter time. Hotel is just 2 blocks to the famous Chiang Mai night bazaar and if you arrive Chiang Mai by train like us, it is just 10 minutes drive from Railway station. Also with the same distance to Bus station.

Very Good Hotel”
The Chiang Mai Plaza hotel is one of the best we have stayed in over eight years of traveling in Thailand. We were upgraded to the VIP floor and had a large and comfortable room. The lobby is GRAND. Reminds me of what luxury was like 100 years ago. The breakfast buffet was great for a foreigner and fairly good for an Asian. There are two tour desks in the hotel. The prices for a massage were very expensive in the hotel spa while just across the street was a very nice massage place with very reasonable prices; and very good from personal experience. The staff from the entry, to the front desk, to the restaurant to security to housekeeping were very helpful. The night bazaar is very close, withing walking distance. All in all a very good experience at a very reasonable price.

Overall Good Enough, Great Value”
The hotel and the rooms are so tired and dim, not very very clean. I booked deluxe room but was quite disappointed to see that the room is just like an ordinary standard room. But that's all I don't like about this hotel. There are so many other good things that overall I would recommend this hotel to other travellers. Great Price. I made my booking on agoda for 3 nights and as I recall, it's around half of the standard price only. Buffet breakfast very good with variety from western to Chinese and Thai and there was something a little different on each day I stayed so I didn't feel bored. The hotel is of large scale, area occupied huge, lobby area very large with Thai decor and water flow. Gardening around the entrance and car park good. Swimming pool and gym looks good and clean though I didn't have time to try. Room spacious, bed comfy, provides all you need, blackout curtains. Location stragetic, 5 mins walk to night bazaar or Ping river. There is a hotel shuttle van leaving to airport at every sharp hour at B120 or if you like to manage your time better (only 15 mins drive is required to airport), you may book a taxi at the front desk at B150. Yet, I think the taxi available outside is cheaper (it's only B110 as the official price I paid from airport to the hotel). Staff good, they will greet you whenever seeing you. The shopkeeper also nod their head and gives a smile from their shop. You may book a tour here (I was arranged to join "jasmine" travel company). I have joined a one day tour to Chiang Rai with long neck village (from 7:30m to 8:30pm). I enjoy. Price good (perhaps it's because now May is low season). The van is new and clean, guide not too good though (not bad guy, but just not so informative and attentive). Overall I had a good time in this hotel. With this great price, location, large scale and breakfast, what better can you ask for?

Great location, nice hotel”
We stayed at the Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel on a short break away from Bangkok. The hotel has beautiful architecture and decor and a very large lobby with loads of couches/seating areas if you need to wait around for connections etc. There is a bar on the same level but not open during the day that we saw. My husband wanted a coffee while I was using the wifi in the lobby . The wifi in the rooms was weak as it would only connect in the entry near the door, so I went to the lobby to use each time. The service was excellent and some of the reception staff spoke English, which was helpful. Didn't get to see the pool as it seemed like a long way to go and through a grand room which looked like a ballroom. Breakfasts were nice with sufficient variety to choose from. There is a nice outdoor garden area to eat breakfast in also. Our bed was very hard and a little uncomfortable. I couldn't have slept on it for longer than 2 days. The view from our room was nice overlooking the town. The hotel is right across the road from the night markets which are fabulous and a short walk to the river. The ride to the airport in a taxi cost 300Bht for a 6am pick up and took only 10-15 mins. Apparently we had to pay that much as it was too early for taxis! We arrived in plenty of time for our 7.10am flight. The hotel does offer a bus transfer that leaves at 6am also. All in all a nice stay in a lovely hotel.

Well Maintained Older Style Grand Hotel Best Value”
My husband and two adult sons (17 & 20 years) stayed for a total 5 nights at the Chaing Mai Plaza Hotel. After 3 weeks in Thailand, it was the last & certainly the best value hotel we stayed in Thailand on this trip. Initially apprehensive as the price per night seemed too cheap to be true, my apprehension faded away with a hotel that gave amazing good value to tourists. The buffet breakfast was fantastic - better than many of the other far more expensive hotels we had stayed earlier. Certainly the rooms were dated, however clean and well maintained. From our room the view over Chiang Mai at night was very special and something I will remember well with fondness of a lovely stay.

Great location with a great breakfast!”
we stayed at the chiang mai plaza hotel on new year's eve. the hotel was very busy due to the holiday, yet they handled the large amount of people very well. the rooms were very nice, although we had a smoking smell at first. great location, we walked to the night bazaar and even walked to thapae gate. breakfast is the best, lots of great food! pool area was very nice as well. great place to relax and hang out. if you bring a family, be a bit careful of other foreigners around the pool without proper swimsuits on.

Chiang Mai Plaza”
We found this hotel by looking at other guests feedback and as these were so positive we felt confident in confirming our booking. The Chiang Mai Plaza is about 300 metres from the famous open air night market so an easy walk either way. The hotel has a fantastic foyer and the staff are helpful. The rooms are great with all the major channels on the TV, good aircon, and free bottles of water each day which is always important. Our biggest surprise was the amazing breakfasts with something for any culture or taste. The hotel has a very large pool which was never crowded. Of course with all this on offer ie great location, room and food one wonders about the price. Well we were amazed at how affordable it was and it put the hotels in Bangkok to shame. Very easy to book on the internet.

Awesome”
Fantastic front desk people - especially Nittanya Joompa. "Ann" arranged all my tours and helped me tremendously with tips and how to get to places, fair rates for red cabs and tuk tuks. Excellent service with kindness as an undertone. Housekeeping outstanding, pool wonderful, breakfast was over the top, music in the lobby, good location - close to the night market. I really enjoyed my stay. I had stayed at another guest house before checking in at the CMP and the services and room far exceeded what I experienced at a smaller guest house, while the price was cheaper. I would highly recommend the Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel.

Very Convenient Hotel”
The famous night market is one minute walk from the hotel, and next to the hotel, we have a money exchange which offers the best rate(from $ to Baat). One Seven-Eleven store is located just in front of the hotel. Chiang mai Plaza is famous hotel, and so almost all taxi drivers know where it is. That's very important in order to enjoy our stay in Chiang mai because we don't have subway or BTS like in Bangkok. This hotel also has great restaurant which we used mainly for breakfast. I used this restaurant also for the first dinner in Chiang mai because I arrived at arround 10pm, and I didn't want to go out. Honestly, I had not expected delicious food in this restaurant but my order stirfried chicken with basil turned out to be the best dish in my stay in Thailand.

Got to Love Chiang Mai”
Got to say that from the moment we were greeted at the front entrance of the Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel we were delighted with our good fortune. The hotel exceeded our expections and for the price has been one of the greatest values we have found through Agoda. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. The facility is top notch in every respect. The included breakfast had a wonderful selection of both Western and Eastern types of foods. The only drawback we found was the "wifi". The only place it wanted to work was on the 6th floor up and in the lobby. Wish they had told us this when we bought our access time. Sighting in the hallway doing our emails was not what we enjoy. Other than that, things were great.

Good value”
The Chiang Mai Plaza hotel was a very good choice. It was located right next to the night market and a close walk to other stores, restaurants, internet, etc. The lobby is very impressive and the in hotel travel booking service was reasonably priced and very helpful. The room wasn't amazing, but it was very comfortable. The hotel has a very nice breakfast that's included and there are several sizes of security deposit boxes in case you have large camera equipment or other valuables.

Lovely hotel in great location”
the chiang mai plaza hotel is very comfortable. our room was very large and clean (except for the bath mat). there is a large swimming pool with lots of long chairs and umbrellas on the second floor. the restaurant offers a good buffet breakfast with a good selection of asian and western food. the hotel is situated closed to the night market. one inconvenience was that there was no safe in the room and you had to use one at the reception. there is a good travel agency in the hotel that can help you book your excursions such as elephant riding and cooking classes.

Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel”
We could not recommend the Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel more highly. The hotel lobby is magnificent and a cultural experience in itself. There is a tremendous feeling of space throughout the public areas and the rooms are large and beautifully clean. The staff cannot be faulted, they are friendly, polite, unintrusive and willing to help in any way. The restaurant was good, food well presented and very cheap. The hotel is brilliantly located, one block from the night markets and a few blocks to the entrance of the old city. We certainly would stay there again.

Very nice four stars hotel, close to Night Bazaar”
It is our second stay at the Chiang Mai Plaza. It is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are big and comfortable. Large swimming pool with many chairs around. The buffet breakfast offers a great variety of food, international and thai. It is located only 5 minutes walk from the Night Bazaar. The only negative point is that the WIFI did not work in the rooms that we occupied the two times we stayed there.

4 star hotel- great value”
The CNX Plaza, is exactly what you'd expect for a large standardised 4 stars. It's a safe and reassuring bet, if there are any problems then of course the staff will immediatly sort /change rooms. The Hotel is well maintained and clean to international standards, as with hotels of this type it is a bit impersonal and lacks. The standard rooms are a good size, good bathroom with great fast hot water and good bath tubs. The housekeeping staff where very discreat and effecient. I preffered The CNX Plaza by far compared to THE EMPRESS Chiang Mai(4*) because this hotel is friendlier, and slightly better kept. The hotel staff are all very attentive and helpful. The rates are obviously dependant on timing but if your offered a compartive rate it's great value for money. The location is great for those visiting Chiang Mai for the first time. Take advantage of the shopping and Resuturants; whole earth nxt door, riverside resturants. Enjoy- It's a safe bet.

Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel ”
We stayed in Chiang Mai Plaza Hotel for three days in March 2009. Excellent location, 5 min work to night bazaar where you can find good food and nice souvenirs. Great value for money you pay. Nice swimming outdoor pool with refreshing cold water where you can relax during hot day. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Absolute must!!”
Stayed in 4 hotels in Chiang mai and Chiang Mai Plaza was clearly the best of Dusit Princess, Duangtuwan and Mandela house. Mind you, all were good. Facilities are superb, pool is fantastic (pool at Duangtuwan was freezing) and the location fantastic being only 300 metres from both the night market in one direction and the river in the other. The main foyer lobby area is postcard material for the authentic Thai layout and recreation of the Chiang Mai ornaments and old city. If you stay anywhere - make it here. It was fantastic

A large hotel that caters well for comfort.”
I felt very comfortable and relaxed during my 3 night stay at the Chiang Mai Plaza. Large foyer, attractive and interesting with very comfortable seating . Dining area good, good variety breakfast, outside dining very pleasant and peaceful. Very comfortable bed. Plumbing has room for improvement. Housekeeper was very efficient and friendly, attended to a problem immediately . Although it is a large hotel I was impressed how quiet and peaceful the atmosphere was. Walking distance to shops, markets and restraunts, good location. Great value, I will return.
