Clustered Housing
I have to say that somehow, I ain’t too impressed. The villas were clustered together, as in packed smack to each other with no order of privacy. Our bedrooms wide opened faced the opposite’s and was visually separated by only a row of sparse flora. We had to keep our curtains closed at all times so that we can go about our own business such as walking around in my underwear or so that my wife could breast feed our baby. That said, all curtained up in their very small bedroom made it no different from staying in much cheaper compartmentalized hotels. They had a very large bathroom in comparison to the size of the bedroom. Why such a large bathroom and such a small bedroom that did not offered not much space to move around? You can easily put a dining table in their bathroom and watch your mother in law bath in the tub while you and your wife have candlelight dinner with your baby neglected in the walk in wardrobe. The pool, well that was the most pleasant bit, was located on the second level. That was where I spend the rest of my life while in Yaiya because I didn’t want to stay jailed up below. Again, no sense of seclusion at all, the pool of the adjacent unit was separated by a line of few trees from ours. I had no low visibility issues watching someone else’s mother in law in wet t-shirt played with their son and daughter in their pool. At times when I was left in peace and I tried to take a nap, my rest was interrupted by the noise of constant tile grinding, metal pipes falling, drilling and a symphony of every imaginable construction tools from the hotel next to this. Sigh… . . We were told by the friendly staffs during check in that there was a free mini bar in room. When we finished our stock of 2 Coke, we asked for more the next day. Was then told by the reception in fine printed speech that the concept of free mini bar meant only 2 Coke for one check in. First time in my travelling life I heard of such nonsense. My free mini bar experience had always b

Wouldn't recommend
Unfortunately, we had quite an unpleasant stay at Yaiya. So much even that we cut our stay short and left earlier than anticipated, this costed us $100 which we were happy to pay so that we could leave earlier. The manager still charged us for 300 baht to bring us to town, even when we left a day early and letting us py for the room! Although the staff is friendly, they hardly speak any English. This makes it hard to ask questions and communicate. The biggest downside is the distance to Hua Hin town. To get there you have to take a taxi which will cost you around 200/250 baht one way. The hotel will only call a taxi for 300 baht, if you explain them that you can pay 200 baht they don't understand because of the bad English. Quite annoying.. Construction on both sides of the hotel makes it hard to enjoy the calmness. You can only hear drilling, sawing and building noises. Beach is also not very clean and big bulldozers were busy next door. The rooms were not maintained well. The bed was very okay but the mosquito net was ripped. Also the shower was rusty. Of course this isn't particularly a big deal if you would have piad less for the room, however, this isn't the case. The amount of money you pay isn't in line with what you receive. Unfortunately making money is more important than making you feel comfortable. Compared to other places we stayed at in Thailand, this was definitely a bad choice.
