Great place to chiiiilll”

It was epic trip with some excellent spots in Khao-Sok, BKK, Siem-Reap and Koh-Phangan. Here we stayed at Wattana in Chaloklum. Highly recommend classic bungalow in the first row - small, authentic and with stunning views. Yi(manager or even owner) is very helpful and smart. Kitchen is tasteful and not only for breakfast. Though there were some problems.. At first day we spent 2 hours and collect a huge bunch of trash and glass. So it's better to check the coast, especially with kids. And be careful driving rented bikes - they are cheap for rent, but we paid a lot for minor damage . And it's hard to negotiate. So just stay cool, don't expect much from this amazing small resort and drive safe))

very pleasant experience”

We stayed a few days at the Wattana on our second trip to Koh Phangan and we'll definitely come back again. The small resort is located at the end of Chaloklum Bay offering a very peaceful atmosphere and a great sea view. That's why we decided to stay for a couple of days more. Their restaurant is very good, and you can find more dining places in the nearby fisherman village. The owners and the staff are very friendly and helpful. You'll definitely have to rent a scooter, and they can do this for you. Also at the reception you can buy tickets for ferries, buses etc. They also provide transfer to Thong Sala pier and Haad Rin. Overall we had a great stay at Wattana.

My stay in Wattana Resort was, by far, the best! The staff is so kind and giving! Life in Chaloklum is very peaceful and I would recommend it to everyone! I will, one day, go back to Wattana Resort. I miss it already!

Beautiful bungalows looking out to ocean”

We had an AMAZING time at the Wattana. For the price we paid (fairly budget as we've been backpacking for 2 months), this was probably my favorite accommodation. It was great in all areas, bungalow was a nice size, bed was enjoyable, and room was clean and well-kept. Beautiful large windows looked out to ocean and every bungalow had a porch with a hammock and table with 2 chairs which was a great feature! The restaurant was steps away and had a large selection of food for very reasonable prices, as cheap as you would find at a restaurant in town. Service was also quick and the receptionist was very friendly, asking if we would like a taxi on our departure and then booked it for us. Free wifi was available in room and was the strongest signal weve had at any hotel. Overall, a wonderful stay.

Amazing quiet location”

Not the most beautiful beach for swimming ... but no problem as you will rent a motorbike (a must) for visiting the recommanded beaches ... leave it to you to find them out :-) ... better not to tell to much .., for the Wattana resort I presume it is already the case with as a result starting to become a France 🇫🇷 resort.. sometimes I had the impression to be in DOM-TOM. And we don’t like a too high concentration of 1 nationality :-(

Such a great stay”

Our stay at Wattana was amazing. The classic Bungalow was beautiful and clean, the bed was comfortable and looked over the water. The restaurant is surprisingly so affordable (60 baht pad thai) and very good. There are also a few restaurants and local stores nearby. The resort is on the beach and breathtakingly beautiful in the day. The receptionist was so friendly and helpful with everything. Free snorkeling equipment available at the resort. We would go back tomorrow if we could.

Pure serenity”

We stayed here for 12 nights over Christmas and New Years, and would go back in a heart beat. It offers great (non-inflated) value. The staff were passive yet friendly. The classic family bungalow has the best location right on the sea with a nice porch with two hammocks. The location of the resort is the best of Chaloklum; this opinion was substantiated by the locals of that area as well. However, it is a 10 minute walk to the village. It is a family run, well-oiled machine. The owner is very well respected in the community. If you want quiet serenity, this is the place for you.

We stayed 2 nights in Wattana Resort and really wished we could have stayed longer since we really enjoyed the place. The staff was lovely. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay there!

Quiet location”

This resort occupies the best location in Chaloklum. It is a 10-15 minute walk to town which can be done by the beach when the tide is low. Several locals told us that they recommend their friends and family to stay there. The menu is extensive, and even after 12 nights we never got tired of the food. If you are looking for pure rest and relaxation, this is the place for you.

Okay stay for the price”

We had a good stay at Wattana. The dog is friendly, the bay is beautiful, and all the rooms have at least one hammock. However, the bed wasn't too comfy, the sheet was ripped and our shower ran cold only (we stayed in a small classic bungalow, room 18). The staff are friendly enough but more distant than some. The hotel is in an absolutely stunning location and the village is about 15 minutes' walk. You can rent scooters there from 150baht/day. It's a long way if you want to go to the full moon party but worth it for the peace and quiet of Chaloklum.

Beautiful bungalows, staff, and food”

As long as you know to expect a Koh Phangan bungalow experience, this place is fantastic. The water nearby is pristine, it's private and in an area without a ton of tourists, the staff is always helpful, and the restaurant food is fantastic. Overall a great stay, we really, really enjoyed.

Great view Great food”

Good view and peaceful .We loved it. Location very good because not far to chaloklum village and we can walk to place for snorkeling . When we back to resort we good sleep in quiet place.

Great Bungalow on the Beach”

These are fine Bungalows at the end of a beautiful beach on Chaloklum Bay. Walk the beach into town to enjoy some great Seafood restaurants. If you are a Diver be sure to dive Sail Rock with Chaloklum Divers- spectacular dive site. This is a great place to stay and an extraordinary value

Highly Reccommend ”

located in the far corner of the bay this family run resort is a great place to stay. lovely little bungalows sit in a beautifully quiet location. Abundant wildlife, butterflies & birds made this a special place to stay. Our bungalow was was set back slightly from the waters edge & raised on stilts It had Air con and very comfortable bed. Pulling back the curtains sitting up in bed looking out to sea with the sound of Birds Of Paradise in the trees above was everything we could have wished for. Behind the adequate size bedroom and down 2 quite steep steps was a wet room. As with most places We have stayed in Thailand the tiles can be a bit slippery when wet so take extra care. Each bungalow had seaward facing Balcony with table and chairs and a Hammock. The staff were Friendly and Helpful. there is an open sided seafront Breakfast restaurant that cooked fresh food to order and seamed to be open all the time & the food was well presented. Access to the sea is right in front of the resort its very shallow and the bottom is soft sand and protected by a small reef about 150m but there is not much of a beach to sit on. The main beach is at the other end of the bay about 5min bike ride away as are the bars and restaurants. worth checking out is coral bay just 10m bike ride away.

a little Out of the way”

it was good stay but for that money you can definately get better accommodations in the island. Wattana is a continuation of Chalakluum Bay Resort, they just keep building on the land. This one has no amenities no pool or garden really and no beach. Yes there is water but the beach has large rocks where waves hit and so no place to lay down :( no sandy part. Go to the Malibu beach instead 2 doors down, it was fabulous white sand beach and free entrance so just a great place to relax. overall, you can look and find better. Rooms are OK, sort of new but basic, wifi doesn't hit all rooms so depends where you get a spot it's a hit and miss. good luck

We had an amazing time at Wattana. Great family run business. We had a beach front traditional bungalow. Very basic but we knew what we were getting. Very comfy bed and a view to die for.

Perfect place to relax”

if you are looking for someplace quiet then you probably couldn't do better. even during the holidays and full moon party this place was calm. not many people and those who are here were quiet and kept to themselves. pretty scenery, right next to the beach, amazing restaurant with a great view. you're slightly isolated from town but can walk in without much difficulty. there was no safe to secure valuables in, just a cupboard thing that wouldn't lock properly. but i felt safe leaving things in the bungalow anyway because no one was around. i would not ask them to arrange a ride for you anywhere other than the ferry at thong sala though. we tried to pay for a ride to the south end of the island and the hotel staff were ridiculous. charged too much, would not bargain down, kept complaining about "the bad roads" (there were none), etc. instead go into town by the 7/11 and share a taxi with others for 1/2 the price.

Peaceful location but kind of dated...”

We did not have an auspicious start at Wattana. We stayed in one of the classic bungalows on the property. It was in dire need of a deep cleaning. The bathroom was not up to par and had no ventilation at all so it was super smelly. We had a roach crawl out of our covers the first night and despite large gaps in the flooring and walls there was no mosquito net so we both got eaten alive. We asked to change to a different bungalow for the remainder of our stay and were moved. It was still a classic but newer - no cracks, ventilation in the bathroom and slightly larger, but it still had the feel of not being deep cleaned in a long time. Despite the stumbles with the bungalow the staff was very nice and helpful. The restaurant serves a good breakfast and it’s not overpriced. The views are amazing and the location is perfect if you want a quiet stay close to beautiful beaches. I would suggest the modern bungalows which looked really nice and checking the room upon arrival.

Peace and Quiet”

We came here for the end of our time in Thailand and it was perfect. Traditional Thai resort. Simple, clean and beachfront. There are better beaches but we still are happy we stayed here. Away from all crowds. Beautiful. Very very nice staff. Restaurant was also good. Super happy to be here.
