Very esthetic Resort with great comfort”

I stayed 1 week at Buffalo Bay Vacation Club. It is one of the best Resorts of the Island... If not The Best! The private beach is very calm and so nice for swimming and with lot's of small fishes arround. You can swimm there only at high tide but I did not have any problems with it. All bungalows take place in a very nice garden with lot's of nice singing birds and it's only 1 minute to the private beach. Also the restaurant offers a great choise of very delicious food... By the way made my the boss him self. The stuff is always very helpfull and not defiant at all! Some people wrote about lot's of mosquitos.... But this depends for sure the weather... We did not have lot's of them and as there are mosquitonets at all windows and doors it's very easy going. I would always recoment this Island and this resort and if I come back to Thailand for sure I will go there again. They offer also trips for snorkeling or diving but I didi not use this service. If you don't like to rent a bike you can walk easily to next supermarket or some nice small restaurants. Very recomented is the restaurant and cocktail bar Krug Khun Kao... Leaving the resort and going up in direction center, at the first cross to the right... 20 min walking distance only. Buffalo Bay Vacation Club is the best place for relax! Walking at the beach during low tide you are in 10 min at a nice Rasta Bar. You will see the Bob Marley flag! Also very nice people!

Enjoyable stay at well-located beach resort”

I stayed for 3 days at Buffalo Bay Vacation Club and was most impressed by the surroundings and staff. The restaurant offers an extensive menu with delicious and affordable options. The bungalows are well-equipped and spacious. The staff are very attentive and helpful and keep the rooms and surroundings in impeccable condition. The beach is very quiet and a great place for rest and relaxation compared to other beaches on Koh Phayam. Despite this, it is only 5 minutes from the ferry. This resort is particularly suitable for couples or families. I have no hesitation in recommending the resort to others.

Beautiful resort on a expectional island”

Koh Phayam is a beautiful island. Buffalo Bay Beach is more quiet than Long Beach. BBVC It is a great resort to relax. The rooms have a very good standard and you get a good value for the money. Make sure you have your ferry or speedboat to the island organized.

Very nice stay at Buffalo Bay Vacation Club!”

Dimitri has been a fantastic host and very patiently assisted my family of 5 with three young kids with any request. Communications before and upon arrival were smooth and he even cooked a birthday cake for one of us. The food was great (a bit expensive but everything need to be carried on the island so not surprising) and the family room was very big with two bunk bed and a very comfy king size bed. The beach was fantastic and even at low tide we enjoyed resting in the shade or walking on the beach spotting crabs and other creatures. We rented Dimitri's kayaks twice, once to adventure in the river nearby among mangroves and another time on the opposite side of the large bay for snorkeling. I was initially worried about the bad reviews on this resort but I must say that I was amazed by Dimitri's kindness and the beauty of his place. We loved Kho Phayam and if we are ever going back we would definitely book at Dimitri's place. Thanks a lot!

We are a couple staying here for a week on November. We really appreciate all good service mind from staffs. They're very welcome and friendly. Moreover, the resort just connects to the beach (Buffalo Bay). We felt like we had our personal beach so near! One thing I would like to complaint about is the cleanliness of bed sheet in my 1st day. I think it's because of long time no usage room due to the low season. And another thing is food at the resort is so expensive,so I suggest you to eat other restaurants around the island.

Located directly on the bayside of the island. With high tide the sea is perfect to swim because there are no waves in the bay. low tide gives you the opportunity to walk around the mangroves and rocks. We rented a kayak at Buffalo Bay and rowed into the river where you can see and here the birds and enjoy the beautiful and quiet environmen. The food at the restaurant is very good with a lot of choice and the staf is very friendly. Renting a scooter is a good idea if you want to see more from the island.

Good place to stay”

We stayed in the cheap bungalow for this trip, we had previously stayed in the top room which was very nice. But since this was an extented trip we saved money where we could. The room is clean and livable, this is one of the best resorts on Koh Phayam and I recommend it highly. The mattress in this room was not very comfortable but I guess you get what you pay for.

Very nice beach + decent food”

Buffalo Bay Vacation Club held everything it promised, the food is generally good although most things "cheese" will be cheddar as is the case in most of Thailand. We were a little irritated though, all the bungalows looked pretty much the same, we had booked the "honeymoon bungalow" which supposedly was special? We didn't find anything special about it other than the price being higher. With agoda's last minute deal we didn't pay much more than the normal fare though and the bungalows were clean, warm clean water, AC and so forth was all there so all in all a nice trip.

Great stay on Phayam! ”

Wonderful location on buffalo beach! Central to all other beaches. Very clean modern bungalows. WiFi was so so in the room, but worked quite well by the beach. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Beach is beautiful and even saw the bioluminescent plankton in the water at night! We extended our stay because we were enjoying so much. Did not eat at the restaurant so cannot speak to that. Will have to come back next time and try!

Superb place for relaxing vacation!”

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Everything about it was great. The room was beatiful and comfortable, the restaurant on the resort was amazing. Great menu, and reasonably priced. The location was great, right on the beach, very quiet, lots of activities to do from the resort or to find on your own on the island. The staff were very kind and helpful, made the vacation very relaxing and a special time for us. The owner takes good care of the place, and runs one of the best resorts on the island. I look forward to visiting again.

We had a really nice stay at Buffalo Bay. Despite the reports that Dmitri displays little to no concern for his guests, we found that although he had little interaction with us he was generally friendly and relaxed. Perhaps because it was low season and his work schedule in the kitchen was more manageable, but he was always pleasant and courteous. The wait staff in the kitchen are indifferent generally to you concerns, but if you smile through it and laugh at their attitude you will have a nice time. The curry we ordered was very good. Overall a very nice spot.

Cosy cabins, quiet and near beautiful beach”

We stayed at Buffalo Bay for three nights. I liked our bungalow very much. It was cosy and very well designed with all the right touches. My only issue was the bed. It was too hard and I couldn't get a good night sleep. After two frustrating nights, I asked the owner for an extra blanket to add as a buffer. He got very defensive and told me it was a standard room and that I should have ordered deluxe if I wanted a better bed. (I talked to another couple in a deluxe who said the bed was just as bad). Anyway, I was reluctantly given the blanket but it kinda turned me off staying there. We left the next day. Too bad as I liked everything else. The restaurant had excellent coffee, although I wasn't impressed by the food.

Not recommended unless you are club member!!!!!”

The internet site is misleading. We expected a warm atmosphere including child facilities but we were received in a very formal way, with minimum of friendliness! There are NOT at all child activities in the resort as mentioned in the site! We noticed during our stay that when that especially Russian guests where warmly received. We wondered why?? we searched on the website in ABOUT US (what normally people don't pay much attention) and we realised that it is a MEMBERS CLUB, for guests mostly Russians. The owner kind of ignored us, the food is nothing but Thai food and the rest of our vacation with our daughter we spend next door. Before booking Buffalo Bay we recommend you to read first the reviews and the website CAREFULLY. THe bungalow was good but still too expansive for what you get.

The resort is quiet and away from most the fuzz. I was looking for that. The resort is also very clean and so are the rooms. Daily room service and friendly stuff. Just ask and you will get it. I even got upgraded for long stay at least that's what I thought. Sadly the villa was infested with red ants. The stuff did its best but for me it was over. I can recommend this place if you want a quiet time and not connecting with people. If you look for that that place is not good. Although I have to say, without the amazing agoda deal I got I would say, that resort is a bit overpriced. But I enjoyed my time and if you get a good deal go for it

Good time in the lovely place”

Nice place, tasty cuisine, clean comfortable and well equipped cottages (they have even aircon but for the extra charge. Mention this advantage as it's not typical for the island since they have very limited electricity supply). As to the host - in many reviews Dima is described as a gloomy guy who is welcome only for Russians. I do not support this opinion. He is just Russian we Russians are like onion, we have lays All in all I can recommend this hotel to everybody.

Rustic villas but great value for money”

The villas whilst a bit dated are well maintained and are well spread out over the property. The more you pay the closer you are to the beach. we had a villa with fan only which was spacious inside with own private balcony. - villa 17. The staff were all very nice and yes the Russian owner is not the most natural of hosts but he runs a tight ship and leaves the day to day front of house to Ann and her very capable staff. Good coffee in the morning Food not bad if you prefer Western food. Buffalo beach at this end is great when the tide is in but when out it's too far to swim. To get around the island you will have to hire a scooter.

I got a very good deal with agoda at this resort. The stuff is very friendly and you can ask them anything. Very quiet which was important for me to get some sleep. The best thing I thought was, that the bungalows are very far away from each other and good positioned. So when you sit on your porch, you still have your privacy. All of them are concret houses which I find better than the traditional ones. Privat beach on one of the nicer one, fresh water every day and the hole resort very clean and the fresh coffee is just amazing. Just ask and you will get it. It is a little bit off the main things but I don't consider this as a bad thing. I really loved it here.
