A pleasant stay at a great price”

I've stayed at Sunshine Hotel and Residences a few times in the past, and I have never been disappointed. The hotel is located right on Soi 8 in an ideal location. The location offers easy access to tons of nightlife options on Soi 8, Soi 7, and Beach road. It's also just a short walk from the hotel to the beach and to shopping venues such as the nearby Central Festival shopping mall. Further attractions, such as walking street, are a short baht bus ride away. The staff here is always friendly and accomodating, and offer service with a smile. The room is standard fare. It's a little small and spartan, but about what you'd expect for the (very affordable) price. While the hotel can be a little noisy until late at night, that's something you just have to expect with a nightlife-oriented hotel. Rooms that do not face Soi 8 are probably quieter. The only fault I can find is with the hotel's taxi service. Transportation into Bangkok is 1500 baht, non-negotiable. Next time I'll just walk up to Second Road and find a cheaper ride. All-in-all, I'd recommend Sunshine Hotel and Residences to anyone looking for budget accomodation in Pattaya.

A Sunshiny experience!”

Sunshine is beautifully located, just off the Beach Road, so you do not pay beach front hotel prices and you still have easy accessibility to the beach front. The complimentary breakfast had an impressive spread for the reasonable tariff. The famous Walking Street of Pattaya is a leisurely stroll away. The Central Festival (Mall) is practically next door and there are fun events there most evenings. For the bar mongers, the choices are unlimited in the area. Located in Central Pattaya, it was easy access to all fun things happening in North and South Pattaya too. Maintenance issues I had in the room were quickly attended to. The staff is very friendly and courteous and room service took about 5 mins to deliver fresh hot food, every time, even at 2 a.m!! There is a travel agency right outside that has the most friendly staff ever, too. Great place to stay!

Fun Place for Fun Travelers”

The Sunshine Hotel and Residences are great for travelers who want to be in the heart of the entertainment district in Pattaya. The Soi 6-8 blocks were fun and safe to roam around and check out the nightlife. In addition, pick-up taxis run cheaply and continuously along Beach Road toward Walking Street and it’s an easy stroll over to the street that runs parallel to Beach Road for your return to the hotel. The mall is within easy walking distance and has nice cinemas and there are numerous places to eat or have a drink or two while observing all the casual lunacy.

Fantastic Hotel great location”

Stayed at the residence wing of the hotel after a friend recommended this to me and he didnt let me down,spent two weeks at the sunshine and residence hotel and loved every minute of it,great location near the top of Soi 8,and central for all other areas,including walking street,very friendly staff,room was spotless and cleaned every day, fresh bedding every day including two free bottles of water daily,good sized swimming pool,and a great breakfast each morning,for a budget priced hotel you cant go wrong here.I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will definetely book here again next time i come to Pattaya.....ps girl friendly as well.

Mid-summber Break”

We travel to Pattaya every year on a golf trip. Decided to try a new hotel this year. Booked Sunshine hotel residence wing through Agoda on a very good deal. Booked residence wing which was slightly more expensive based on advice. Staff were the best of any hotel I have stayed at in Pattaya. Very helpful and friendly from concierge, to reception and housekeepers. Room was adequate, well air conditioned with individual controls that work and quiet all of which area a huge bonus in Pattaya in the middle of summer. The only down side was that there was no view form my balcony as it faced inwards on the hotel but this probably contributed to the quietness of the room. Overall a very good stay and we will probably return next year.

A Great Value!”

I stayed in the residence wing of Sunshine Hotel and Residences on both of my two recent visits to Pattaya. The hotel is centrally-located on Soi 8, with easy walks to the beach, Central Festival Shopping Mall, restaurants, and numerous bars and clubs along Soi 8, Soi 7, and (a little further) Soi 6. Walking Street is quite a hike, but a songtheaw or motorbike taxi gets you there or back quickly. The staff is super-friendly, and the rooms (while a little on the small side) were spotlessly-clean and comfortable. Room service is offered, and each room has a minibar and the ubiquitous two-complementary-bottles-of-water-per-day. In the residence wing, all rooms have balconies with views of the courtyard and Soi 8 beyond. Sunshine Hotel and Residences delivers on its promise of cleanliness, comfort, and value. I'll definitely be back!

Sunshine Shines”

This is my second one week stay at the Sunshine Hotel in Pattaya Beach. It is centrally located in the heart of the Soi 8 action and is the nicest hotel on the street. The staff is helpful and provide anything you need. Room service was quick and correct. The room rate is very reasonable when compared to any American chain of hotels. The rooms have a balcony with table and chairs. The All Day Café in the hotel has good food, great prices and friendly service.

Stayed at this hotel many times.”

I've stayed at this hotel many times, always in the Residence wing. This time they 'upgraded' me to the new Tower wing. Pros for the Tower wing: two elevators, modern room decor, free WiFi Internet access. Cons to staying in the Tower wing: smaller rooms (as compared to Residence wing rooms), no drawers to store clothes or whatever, *Very* poor lighting in the bathroom - made it difficult to even shave, smaller balcony (as compared to Residence wing). I still enjoyed my 3 week stay with this hotel, but next time I'll stay in the Residence wing. Because of the late night bars in the area, the noise level can be quite distracting at 4AM in the morning. I would not recommend this hotel (or any hotel on this street or adjacent streets) for families with young children - families would be better off staying at a hotel on Jomtien beach (just south of Pattaya).

I recommend this hotel to single travelers, take the best rooms at the resort building, not hotel building. I wanted to extend my stay, but prices at the reception were surprisingly much higher than booking through agoda.com (double in my case). So althouth I was still in the hotel, I booked the extra days online, but the availability was not the same anymore, and I had to change rooms going to next building. the hotel rooms are cheap, but there is no balcony and shower instead of bath and most important, in my case I had to walk a long way from the elevator, and not very easy to find or remember the first days. the location for me was excellent, many bars nearby, motorbike rent, currency exchange,farmacy and minimarket just a few steps from the hotel. the beach road is near and walking street about 15 minutes walking. Some of receptionists were not very cooperating and friendly, but some others OK. there is no extra charge for bringing guests (ladies) in the room. ( I have been also in a couple of other hotels in my previous stays in Pattaya, but I think I will go again to Sunshine residence & hotel.

another great holiday at Sunshine”

this was my 3rd stay at Sunshine in Pattaya. I would never consider another hotel. The nighttime is very lively around Soi 7 & 8. so this hotel is in a great location in the middle of nightlife and very close to the beach. I always book the residence wing for the larger rooms and balcony. The All Day Cafe is very handy for a quick bite.

Pleasure stay experience”

This is my second time stay at the Sunshine Residence. When I checked in, the friendly staff gave me free upgrade to the Sea View room. The room is really spacious and facing the sea-side. Although there is a building construction in progress next door, but if you close the door you do not notice the noise. Access to the beach side is convenient. Overall, it was great stay if you prefer a location in the center of Pattaya.

Good for the price”

I have stayed in Sunshine Hotel and Residence (residence side) numerous of times. Each stay has been enjoyable. Hands down, for the price you can't beat the location and the quality service the hotel provides. I would highly recommend it to friends who plan to vist Pattaya for a long or short stay. Sunshine Hotel and Residence will be my first choice for future visits to Pattaya, Thailand.

THE Sunshine Hotel ans Residences”

This was my first stay at the Sunshine, and the only reason I booked it was the location and the price. I was genuinely, and pleasantly surprised at the level of service, and the really nice room. I went down for breakfast on the second day and I was very impressed with the neat, simple and beautifully laid out dining area. Location is a mixed bag, but in terms of Overall location, in my opinion its spot on. Of course as soon as you step out there are lots of little bars, and clubs full of 'very friendly' females(in the evenings), but hey! This is Pattaya! The Central festival mall is located on the next road, which I really like. The mall has seven or eight movie theaters on the sixth floor. There are a few really nice bars and restaurants within walking distance.

stayed in the sunshine hotel three times now everytime i come back they always remember you very friendly staff the porters are very helpful with bags and things the rooms are always kept to a very high standard and the hotel resterant serves excellent food cooked fresh as you order the location is excellent if you like to party right in the middle of all the action so dont exspect to get much sleep i would recomend this hotel to anyone i no who was thinking of travelling to pattaya always had a awsome time and will be back next year

Great view, large room, great staff”

this was my 4th time in pattaya, 2nd stay at sunshine and it is my favorite hotel so far. the location is great for easy access to soi 8 and 7 beer bars, agogo's, resturaunts, beach road and 2nd road. the front desk, housekeeping, security, and ancillary staff always greeted me with a smile and went out of their way to make my stay better. the hotel lets you have an overnight guest for free as long as an id is left at the front desk. they always call to make sure everything is ok the next day. had the best massage of my life for bhat right next to hotel, can't miss it.

Soi 8 is a very noisy place at night time, and yet even though Sunshine and Residences is right in the middle of it you wouldn't know once you are in the room with the doors shut! I have stayed at the Sunbeams down the road and friends have stayed at the Eastiny hotel and Areca Lodge in Pattaya and they all agree that Sunshine was the best yet.

Sunshine hotel Pattaya is very, very good! Position - everything's reachable by many ways, three pools, kind and helpful staff, tasty decorated. Everything's functioning, or being quickly corrected. Step to excellence (nevertheless - this is 3-stars hotel with corresponding prices): WI-FI. Some nagging elderly lady in reception is a usual fact, which could be ignored!

If you want a location in the middle of the bar and massage area, 1 minute from beach then Sunshine Residence is ideal. Hotel is across from 7/11, Subway 50 metres down road, 1 minute walk from Central Festival shopping area. Hotel has 3 swimming pools, breakfast is great, big selection and good egg station. All Day Cafe does good variety and reasonable price. Wondercat Bar across road has very cheap drinks. Sailor Boi Bar near Subway has very good cheap meals and drinks with no hawkers allowed in bar and free wifi.Be aware that King Bar opposite hotel plays loud music from about 7pm to around 2am. Didn't bother any of the 3 couples in our group all in their late sixties. Would definitely stay again.
