Ten minute walk to China Town
Good location in that you can walk to China Town (10min), Paddy's Markets (9min), Power House Museum (4min), George Street (12min), UTS (7min), Central Station (15-20min). That's a reasonably fast pace. Chinese takeaway (2min) walk away is good also. Corner store across the road has basic 7-11 type stuff. To get to this hotel from the airport you can catch a train (metro) to Central and then the light rail (tram) to Paddy's Markets and a bit of a walk up hill and you are there. Better than a hire car as parking IS NOT free. Walls are paper thin but the bedding was good. Elevators do not behave as they should but you get there in the end. Staff are very professional. The hotel started renovations on 18 July 2016 and could take until November 2016 to be completed. I paid about AUD$115 a night, and for inner-ish Sydney that's not too bad at all. With renovations the hotel will become a 4.5 star and no doubt be expensive, so I'd reconsider the location if the price gets up there with say Breakfree on George or Novotel Darling Harbour. Would I stay there again? Yes if the price is ok. If it gets to the AUD$200 Mark, then I will start to look at less of a walk. If you want to go to Sydney specifically for the Powerhouse Museum - this is your hotel.

OK, needs a lot of fixing
I dont mind staying at the Aspire, except each time I do the lifts seem to be broken. With a refurb, this place could be great.

Tired hotel facilities - Tired staff
The hotel rooms are tired and in desperate need of some repair. Likewise the staff don't appear to be very proud to work for the hotel and are in fact a little sheepish about talking to guests probably because they expect complaints.

Great Value
The front of the hotel is a bit tired but rooms were decent, large and comfortable. For the price this is a great find. We walked to Darling Harbour, probably took about 15mins, if that.
