Augusta Hotel

This hotel was incredible. Not only did the property have a jaw dropping view and immaculate design, it also had an incredible attentive staff who made my stay one to remember. Located atop Cerro Allegre, this property is just above the main strips of shops and resturants that drive traffic to the impossibly cute barrio. Because it is a couple of blocks higher than this center, you get all of the conveniences of Allegre with almost no noise. Cerro Allegre itself is one of 3 primary Cerros (hills) that contain the street art that pulls people to Valparaiso from all over the world. The food scene was also great (suggest La Concepcion), but much was closed due to the pandemic & worker shortages. The property is boutique in all forms - tasteful design, 6 rooms, distinctly welcoming staff. This location definitely lends itself to a romantic escape or solo detox over a family getaway or weekend away with friends. The view was by far the stand out feature of this location. The property has 3 sea facing rooms and 3 that face the mountains. Book a sea facing room on the top two floors if you can. I was drawn back to my room every day to enjoy the view. The design also requires mention. The tasteful combination of both antiquities and modern design gave my room a distinct elevated utility while still holding some tether to the messy charm that lays below in the rest of Valparaiso. My room, like all, contained a kitchenette with all of the trappings, a table, a desk and a bathroom with a particularly good rain shower head. The center piece of the room is the full width sliding door that opens onto an equally wide terraza. Finally, the staff & service - again, this was above and beyond any normal standard. Each morning the included breakfast was delivered exactly at the time requested. The staff spoke English fluently and provided excellent recommendations through out my stay.

The view from the room is simply amazing and has large windows that face the bay. The room has a terrace and breakfast is served in the room and so we took the opportunity of eating it on the terrace, just after sunrise, which was a wonderful experience. At night the whole area is lit up by streetlights - again wonderful. The room is large, clean and well designed. The location is great and in close proximity to local restaurants. Many thanks to Karen and her team - we are coming back.

The owner of the hotel was SO helpful. She had great recommendations and was very welcoming. The hotel had a very intriguing but comfortable style and the breakfasts were always so delicious! The beds were comfortable and the bedding felt high quality.

We stayed on the entry-level floor and so it was a little bit noisy in the room as you could hear the comings and goings in the lobby. It is a building with beautiful high ceilings so the noise travels. It was not so loud that it was disruptive though.

The hotel Augusta is simply amazing. Well located on the main hill of Valparaiso but still on a quiet street. We had the room in the basement with a small garden. The rooms are spacious, decorated with a lot of taste and well equipped. The bedding is excellent so you will get a good rest. You get to chose among four options of breakfast (vegan one exists). It is brought to the room at the selected hour; very enjoyable. We were extremely well taken care of by the staff and got to meet the owner who was more than helpful with everything. Great experience, definetely recommended

Everything was very comfortable and well designed. The room was huge and with plenty of natural light and great reviews. All of the staff were very helpful, especially Karen who went out of her way to make us feel at home. One of my favourite places I have stayed in a long time.

the location was amazing, the interior of the room and bathroom well designed. the heater worked perfectly. the breakfast was super yummy and the staff very friendly and helpful. But the view was just exceptional. Bring binoculars if you book this room.

the hot shower took quite a few minutes to heat up but I found that quite common in Chile. the chairs on the balcony could have a bigger cushion.

The hotel was really well loacated. Near many coffee shops and restaurants, we loved walking nearby. The staff was super friendly. And the breakfast was amazing, natural fruit juices, artisanal bread, fruit, avocado. Delicious!

I like everything about this property, an oasis of calm, high on a hill in a vibrant part of the city. Staff including Pila n Roberto are helpful and friendly. Our room has a terrace with views of the sea n city. Comfortable bed with cotton sheets 😎
