We stayed at Aukotan Place for 4 days. We really liked this hotel, price was great and it offersed everything we needed. Breakfast was very basic but it was still good. Room was big, clean, great ac, bed was clean/ comfortable, bathroom was also clean. For us the location was good since we didnt want the busy sairee area and we rented a motorbike to get us around the island. there were good restaurants 5-10min walking distance from the hotel. They provide shuttle service to/from the pier (they pick you up when you arrive) and also shuttle service to sairee beach area if needed. We needed to catch the 6am boat to head to krabi and they gave us ride at 5:30am to the pier! I wish it had a pool but other than that i would recommend it!

Perfect”
The beds were so comfy we ended up napping a LOT. Breakfast was continental, clean and tasty. They provide a shuttle from the pier, and then when we left to go nearer to the main beach, they took us right to our next hotel. Wifi is a little slow in the room at times however being people who work on the go, we worked in the communal area which was fine. It is located 15 mins walk to 'Freedom Beach' where you can chill and snorkel, please note this walk has a lot of hills so be prepared to hike a bit. Overall - Great stay, would 100% reccomend.

Free Taxi to and from Pierre / S Beach :)”
Friendly staff. Complimentary taxi to and from Pier. We were on the 3pm ferry and friendly staff allowed us to keep our bags there and still helped us with taxi to pier after check-out which is awesome seeing taxis are a rip off on Koh Tao. :)

One of the best place if not the best we went ”
Best place we went with that pricetag. Its very clean, the building looks new, the breakfast was included to our surprise, the manager was friendly and helpful... The only thing missing is a pool (oh and the building/decoration is amazing).

We arrived at the pier we were not aware we had a free shuttle bus waiting for us to take us to the hotel as no one had gotten in touch with me to tel me this. Once at hotel the receptionist realised this and was sorry. But we still had to pay money to get a taxi from pier to hotel when it should have been free. Would defo stay again though nice clean property with a great breakfast included

Good place to explore the island. You get free pickup from the pier, and there is a free shuttle in the morning and evenings to/from Sairee beach. Our first room had a broken AC, so we were switched to another room without problems. Here the AC also was not very strong, but at least working keeping the room temperature below 26°, so we could get some sleep. The staff was ok, although not smiling one single time in the 3 days we were in the Hotel. Breakfast buffet is included and also good, nothing special, but enough to get you started in the day.

Bummer place with weird vibe”
We really disliked it here and were shocked by the positive reviews. No window in the room, just an awkward wooden door out to a neglected balcony (if you can even call it that). Green turf (fake grass) inside for carpeting, super weird and uncomfortable. Very basic breakfast of just cereal, toast, boiled egg. Bed was actually comfortable. If you're looking for a place just to sleep that is on the cheaper side then this place is fine for you. In a pretty good location and the staff did drive us to the ferry when we needed to go even though it wasn't one of their designated shuttle times which was nice.

Great value for money”
We booked this hotel to be near to our diving school. It was just a 5 min walk to the diving centre / 2 more min walk to the beach! Spacious very clean rooms, nice hot shower, comfy bed, basic but good breakfast was also included. For Koh Tao Aukotan is a cheap option if you do not mind walking/driving or going by taxi boat to the beaches/other places of the island. Chalok has great food options: be sure to try p oys (just a 5 min walk straight ahead if you turn right from aukotan) for amazing curries! Highly recommended, would stay here again!

Very clean and value for money”
Pros - clean, very comfortable bed, excellent breakfast vareity, spacious room, free shuttle bus to hotel and welcoming staff. Cons - terrible wifi in rooms, showers do smell like egg and location requires hiring bikes or expensive taxis. Pros massively out way cons. Would 100% stay here again. Even extended our stay here. If I am ever back in Koh Tao, Aukotan place hotel will be my first choice.

Good value for money close to Chalok Baan Kao”
I stayed here for four nights. Very good value for money. Rooms are spacious and clean. Aukotan is walking distance (5-10 min) to the shops and dive centres in Chalok Baan Kao. There is also a small supermarket/general store downstairs with is very handy to purchase snacks and small necessities. There are also a handful of restaurants/cafes and massages shops in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The hotel is however on a quieter part of the island. Reception staff are very helpful and have a good command of English. They were able to provide early checkin and late checkout for me which was fantastic. They also offer daily free breakfast which is basic but welcome. There are some roosters around the hotel however which can start crowing as early as 4:30am which can disturb your sleep. The room I stayed in also didn't have hot water in the bathroom sink or a kitchen sink which would have been useful.

Lovely hotel”
Superb hotel, veen travelling all over Thailand for 6 weeks and this room (superior) is one of the best I've stayed in, I booked for one bite but stayed for 4, it's really clean, nice big comfy bed, good tv, nice coffee,cereal or toast in morn, it's only 5 mins down to Chalok bay where there is nice restaurants, worth getting a taxi round to freedom beach to watch the sunset. It's prob a 15 min ride to Sairee beach, i hired a dirtbike and toured the island some amazing beaches/view points, it's all easy to do from aukotan, enjoy

Highly Recommend”
Loved our stay at Aukotan. Rooms were good size and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is included in the room rate and was basic but very enjoyable - a mixture of cereal, pastries, bread, yogurts, tea and coffee. Not far from restaurants and the beach at Chalok Bay. A couple of slight downsides - although the wifi worked great when connected, we had to log in every time we unlocked our phones which was a bit annoying. Also, I had read in previous reviews that they had a free shuttle service that picked you up from the pier so when we booked I added a special request for pickup and told them what time we were arriving but there was no one there to pick us up which was a bit disappointing. Apart from that it was great, would definitely recommend.

Good place for your money. Rooms are simple but comfy and clean. Good service. Breakfast was continental and good. Not a traditional thai hotel but very nice and well situated near Chalok Baan Kao Bay, which is very nice (not for swimming for to hang out on the few reggae bars and restaurants around).

Great place, great value”
I really liked this place. The rooms are amazing : big space, big bed and air con. Great value for money. Plus breakfast included. Probably the best value for money hotel I stayed in Thailand. And there is a free shuttle going from the hotel to Sairee Beach (only one way though), twice a day. The South beach (Chalok) is only 5 mn walk from the hotel. And there are plenty of good restaurants around. I would definitely recommend.

Our room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom smelled a little bit moldy but was alright. We extended our stay and wanted to switch to a double bed but the other room smelled very moldy.. so we stayed in the first one. The location is great, in the south of Koh Tao, away from the touristic party area. By foot it’s 10 mins away from the beach. The beach is beautiful, many restaurants and bars but still relaxed. The hotel has a big supermarket. The breakfast is great and free. WiFi in the room was very bad but much better in the lobby. One thing was very upsetting: we booked the ferry and bus to Surat Thani airport at the reception. He told us to be outside at 5:30am and a taxi would bring us to the ferry (6am) for free. IT NEVER SHOWED UP. Was very lucky we still made it in time. Go to JT restaurant next to hotel :)

Friendly, clean and comfortable”
Our stay was amazing! The hotel looks even better in person than it does in the pictures. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and there is also a store attached to the hotel with everything you need. We would stay here again if we go back to Koh Tao! :)
