Lovely and nice hotel”

The aurora resort is a beautiful place quite for take some rest. It's the nice place , big area ,clean and private. There is near the Keaw River. There is good service and the staff are very friendly. The travelling is comfortable to go to the sightseeing, the market and other nightlife.

This resort is about 18km from the city centre”

On agoda the address is given as city centre. The resort is about 18km from city centre and taxi into town cost 300 baht for one way. The mangeress said she would inform agoda the address was wrong. She was very helpful but my 3 days in kanchanaburi were no where near as enjoyable as i had hoped due to the waiting and unforeseen cost of taxis. The resort itself is pleasant if you want to be in the middle of the countryside miles from the nearest shop, bar or restaurant. I did not. Room was ok.

Nice hotel, nice people”

I enjoyed this hotel; the price was right, the bed and room were big and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. Free breakfast was good and was large enough to fill me up. Internet speeds were really fast in the room and the grounds were immaculate and really nice, and it's right on the river. Keep in mind that this hotel is about 12KM from the city center; not an issue for me as I had a car, but could be if you are only on foot as you would definitely need a taxi or tuk-tuk to go back and forth. Overall I would recommend this hotel and enjoyed my stay.

Good but in the middle of nowhere”

We booked this hotel as we planned to visit Erawan falls and this looked located a good way between the main town and the falls. It turned out it was quite a way from the main area an located with literally no shops or bars near the hotel so without transport there is very little to see or do. Sadly the pool was closed whilst we were there too which we were very gutted about as it was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. The bed was super comfy and the room was lovely though. The hotel itself was like a ghost town. We seemed to be the only guests and there was nothing to do really. There was free wifi in the lobby but not our room as again we expected, but overall if was a pleasant stay.

no frill but nice resort”

OK newer 3 star hotel”

Few english speaking staff. The cottages are nice to feel you are in nature, but there were mosquitos that prevented me from getting a good night sleep, and no mosquito nets. Its a nice place to stop if you want to get away for quiet time. We stayed in Kanchanaburi primarily to visit the Tiger Temple, which I was not impressed with and felt sad for the tigers with leashes on their necks made to walk and take pictures with tourists. However, we had a wonderful time at Erawan Falls, which I highly recommend! Beautiful falls/natural pools that you can swim and hike around, and made our trip there worthwhile.

Too bad the resort is not finished yet, but in one year this will be a great place to stay. you definately need your on wheels here...

Lovely quiet location but building work”

lovely location on banks of river kwai but isolated unless you have transport not geared for western visitors so language was a problem but staff very helpful and once open the restaurant produced a great thai meal significant building work was intrusive resort was less than half full so might be different if busier

To far from City Center”

Claims to be in the city center but is in fact about 7 km from the center. We had issues with hot water in the shower. Were there during low season. They were working in the garden during our stay but that didn't cause any problems. During our 4 nights stay we only once had a breakfast buffet. That was only because during that night a big group had arrived. Otherwise we had the option between American or Thai breakfast (soup). Friendly personal. But price to high considering the problems we had with location, breakfast and hot water in shower.

Needs a lot of improvement”

The resort is old and run down. The Deluxe Cottage is acceptable for the pre-paid price, However the condition of the garden and general area is not so nice. We also had a superior room for other family member and that room is not acceptable. The door is so warp that there is a huge gap. Bathroom door sticks. Pool is dirty when we first arrived. All and all quite disappointing.

River side , very qiet hotel”

Location: River side, not far from city but far from the dam. Breakfast: very basic for 3 (not4) star hotel

Good facilities but communication is a problem”

Good rooms, staff aren't that great with English. We think the resort was empty at the time which led to some delays with the kitchen during dinner and breakfast.

worst place in kanchanaburi ”

it was a horrible stay and i would never stay there again or recommend this bad place to anybody the rooms are run down , the showers was not working , the tv did not work eather very dirty swimmingpool dirty water and dirty areA missing maintance everywhere on check in we needed to change the room 2 times before we found the room where at least hot water shower was working , also tried to talk to the manager but in fact after he even said that we got discounted roomrates not regular price so no right to claim anything he even ask us if we not okay we can change the hotel anytime (without any refund) also the breakfast was included in room rate after first breakfast we not eat again have only old toast (cold) warm one can take only when preheated toast was finish security staff take the fresh toasted ones back from your plate !!!!! never seen before anywhere in the world or in thailand so breakfast was not used after one day we went out in the next city which is 12 km away to get breakfast
