Location is really good to walk around Otaru city. Within walking distance, you can also find a good sushi restaurant. Most sightseeing places are nearby. Hotel is clean, staffs are kind.

nice hotel good location ”
The hotel is not new judging from the key to the room. I think the hotel is in the business for a very long time. Although,what I have mention the hotel room is really nice the buffet room on the top floor has a perfect view of the city and the location is super near to the main city center where you need to visit Otaru Highly recommend. very perfect for me and my family with kid due to near by there is a public area or little park that the community make a snow slope for the children to enjoy for free, which is a lot of fun. ( I visit during March : Snow season)

Old hotel but location good”
If u don drive and taking the JR, then Authent could be a good choice because it’s in between the JR & Otaru Canal. Staff also provided fantastic service. Other than that, the hotel is really old (imagine using normal key instead of card key).

The hotel is old. The toilet in the room was not clean. Not worth for money. Recommend staying at a newer hotel around Otaru station. Anyway, the staffs are kind and helpful.

Nice hotel”
Authent hotel otaru is located near key spots of Otaru. It is like 10 min walk from the station. Very nice, friendly staff. The hotel is quite old but the price is really affordable so it is not a problem. Breakfast was real good. There are two types of breakfast offered, and I chose the western type. Nice&fresh ingredients all fetched from Hokkaido. Bread and dairy was good. The bar at the top of the hotel was not bad. Cozy atmosphere. Overall I want to visit again someday.

Very Comfortable Stay at Authent Otaru”
Excellent location, very close to almost everything in Otaru including Otaru Canal, Otaru Station and Sakaimachi Dori. Authent's staff were very friendly and helpful, and I mean all of them, from housekeeping, restaurant, front desk and concierge. So, thank you very much for that. Room was very comfortable and we can control the temperature. Another thing that we like about the location is that when raining or snowing, we only have to walk from station to the entrance of the covered shopping street (Miyako-dori). We won't get too wet to get to the hotel. Thank you very much again Authent staff for the fantastic service.

This is my second stay at Authent Hotel side 2015. The location is very convenient, only a few minutes walk to Otaru station. The room is nice and clean but the most impressive for my stay is the staffs. My mom lost her beloved watch (that she has for a few decades) in the hotel on our check out day. When the staff had found the watch, we were already in Sapporo. Front Office Assistant Manager, Cheong and his team did every effort to ensure that the watch was delivered to us at our hotel in Sapporo perfectly. We really appreciated all the effort and love the way they were so efficient ;) We definitely recommend this hotel!

I stayed at Authent Otaru when Otaru Snow Light Path Festival's being held. The hotel is located in the middle of Otaru's tourist attractions. Near from Otaru Station, Otaru Canal, market, and so the place where the Otaru Snow Light Path Festival held. The room size is large with comfort bed big size

Good location, quiet area, nearby restaurants”
The hotel is about 7-10 minutes walking distance from the Otaru train station, depending on your walking speed. Best way to get to the hotel is through the shopping arcade, you can get to the hotel while looking at shops as you walk on. From the hotel, you can get to the famous Sakaimachi Dori street which is about 5 minutes on foot. You will also find the Otaru Canal Terminal which is actually a bus terminal, from which you can board buses to other attractions; e.g. Otaru Tenguyama, Otaru Aquarium, etc. A bit further down is the famous Otaru Canal. Food-wise, we tried the restaurant at the top floor of the hotel. We were the only ones there, don't think they get many customers. Still, service was top notch regardless. Food was good. If you want to eat sushi, there're lots of sushi restaurants just a few minutes away at Sakaimachi Dori. All in all, the hotel was well worth the money. Good location (if you don't mind walking), convenience just minutes away, and the staff were great. I'd recommend staying here if you're looking to explore Otaru on foot or by bus.

Great hotel, great staff”
About 5-7mins walk from Otaru train station. 10mins walk and you'll reach the famous Otaru canal as well as Sakaimachidori. Before those, you'll find the bus terminal where you can take buses to the aquarium or Tenguyama mountain. As for the hotel, it's my 2nd time staying here. Clean, well maintained, still looks new, rooms are great, nice views too. Staff are wonderful. Special mention to the waitress working at Casablanca restaurant on 29th Jan. She probably felt bad for initially saying not allowed to eat the birthday cake we brought up to celebrate a birthday dinner. But she made up for it later by helping get lighter for the candles and then offering us saucers and spoons for the cake. All in all, love the hotel. Will return again in future.

Great location, nice hotel, double room too small”
Otaru is a superb small town in Hokkaido which offers a much nicer surroundings than nearby Sapporo and therefore a better option to spend the night. The authent hotel is a pleasant hotel within walking distance from the station, bus terminal and tourist areas. It was a very good choice.

This hotel is great! clean and spacious room compare to standard Japanese room size at the same price range. The room rate is reasonable, strategic location 5 minutes from Otaru station and also 5 minutes walking distance to Otaru canel. Lawson sotre just opposite the hotel very convenient! We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Hokkaido.

Comfortable night in the middle of town”
We'd a comfortable night at Authent Hotel Otaru, which located in the center of town. We could walked to the canal, shopping street and train station. The parking costed JPY1000 per night (14.00 - 11.00); it took about 30 minutes waiting on queue for picking the car in the morning.

A good hotel with a superb location near to station and everywhere else ”
Good hotel with a superb location... nearly all Otaru can offer is within walkable distance - Otaru Canal, Market, Supermarket, Le tao. The staff at the front desk are friendly and efficient. We were offered early check in at 11am which was great. Rooms are small but good enough for 2 with big luggage. Temperature in the room is comfortable despite the -2 degree outside... water pressure in the room is excellent.

The hotel is very centrally located, close to the famous sushi street, within five minutes ' walk to both JR station and the canal. Staff are attentive and polite, hotel is very clean. The room is in simple and modern decoration which makes you feel very warm and comfortable. The price ,as to its location and service ,is not expensive. Will sure come to otaru and stay in this hotel again.
