Resort Hotel under extensive renovation”
The resort was recently bought over by Chinese Investor and is undergoing extensive construction and renovation to add Casino and more rooms. At this point of time, this resort should reduce the room rate as it has nothing much to offer apart from seafront resort room.
Resort is nice, however restaurant's price is not value for money”
Avalon beach resort has a relaxing ambience, and offers a comfortable stay. However, note that there are mosquitoes, so they provided a mosquito net. It would have been better if the hotel provided also an insect repellent device. Bring your off-lotion or insect repellent spray to be sure. The room were nice as we took the room with partial sea view, but we were upgraded to a full sea view accommodation. (courtesy of the resort) Food in the restaurant was a bit pricey, I would not recommend eating here. Place was quite far from the market, so you have to ride a tricycle to go to a better restaurant. Since the place is not quite developed for tourists yet, if you go out at night time, you would have to hail a tricycle for a fixed amount, around 200-300 pesos, from and to the resort. Resort was a bit far from the port, which is your starting point to explore the island.
my friends and I enjoyed our bonding
Hotel in a poor state”
Was unpleasantly surprised to be welcomed by the sight construction ongoing on hotel premises when we arrived. Rooms have signs of wear and tear and the split type airconditioning broke in the middle of the night. Supply of water in the toilet and bath was interrupted a couple of times which is terribly annoying. Staff were friendly and nice however.
We were accomodated at 10am even though the check in time was at 2PM with no extra charges. The staff were very kind, hospitable and polite. They very very generous to our requests. The rooms were big enough for a family of 6. Clean and comforatble place. It was an amazing experience!
Spacious villas Nice Ocean View”
The room is as pictured and even exceeded our expectations with regard to size. It is not new but it is well-maintained. The staff are helpful and courteous. Con: The food in the restaurant is expensive and not very good. Beware: some of the items pictured in the menu might be way different than the food that will be served. Overall, we had a great and relaxing stay at Avalon.
The Hotel was good and the beach is so nice specially the view at sunset...
We were supposedly upgraded to a larger room upon check-in. We were able to notice, though, a very large brown mark through the covers. We asked if the mattress could be flipped. There was, however, an even larger mark so we asked if they had another mattress. They didn't have any and so we just had to ask for a thicker bed sheet. The bathroom wasn't also as clean as I hoped it would be. I had made a mistake in my first booking so I had booked an extra night, which was to a different room. The room we had moved into was smaller than the first but a lot cleaner. If we were not "upgraded" and if we had moved into a clean room the first time, we would have been more satisfied. Their staff, however, was friendly and was willing to accommodate requests as much as they can. It was very convenient that they have a restaurant since restaurants in the area were limited during Holy Week.
It was a pleasant stay. The place is peaceful, the staff accommodating and patient. The faucet/shower water's weak, though.
Nice sunset view. Food was exceptionally delicious. TV only has 2 channels. Some wood works of the room are a bit old. And the door of the rooms are kinda weird with space that you can still go inside without opening it.
Nice place to stay”
If you are planning to visit Palaui Island, this is a good place to stay its just 10mins drive to San Vicente Port going then you just need to rent a boat going to Palaui Island. When it comes to facilities the water in the shower is not so strong, when we complained the reason is there is a lot of guest using at the same time, they don't have a private pool, but maybe soon as they are having a building extension. When it comes to food you may try there Avalon Pizza its very nice, though the next day when we try to order they don't have it.
The place is so relaxing, but the sand is not white. It's okay though because we went to swim in Anguib instead. But, the food. Superb. Their Butter and Garlic Crab, to die for. So delicious!
The service was very good throughout our stay. The staff tried their best to accommodate our requests, especially when we needed to pack our lunch very early in the morning. They would give complimentary bottles of water whenever we leave for a trip. All personnel were very polite. I could only rate their service as very good and not excellent yet for cleanliness, for me, is a major part of a great service. I really hope that they would be able to improve the cleanliness of all rooms. During our first two days our upgraded room had visible stains on the covers, mattress, and mosquito net. The toilet in the bathroom had skid marks. Upon the 3rd day, though, we were transfered to another room. Before the transfer, I had requested the concierge to ascertain the cleanliness of the mattress and bathroom. The concierge did a wonderful job accommodating this request.
View is relaxing and Service is Superb”
The view is fantastic and facade is so nice. Room is clean and spacious. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Their faces are full of smiles and answered all our question about the tour with willingness to help. We came there couple of hours before our check in and they allowed us for an early check in. They are so flexible on our request like they set up a table in beach front for our dinner. Jane was the friendliest among the staff. We call her Andrea as she looks like one of the local celebrity. Though the only downside I experienced was the flow of the water in the shower is not strong and they dont dessert on their menu but Andrea said they are working on it. Overall our experience is great and we will give all our thumbs up for the place and staff. Will definitely come back and will stay in this hotel again.
Nice scenery bad location”
Really nice place just a little difficult to get to. I guess I shouldn't say that difficult if you're used to traveling in the Philippines but if not it's a 4 hour drive to the nearest airport
Value for your money”
The resort is very well maintained. We went during low season so there weren't many guests. Staff were very, very attentive and professional. You can tell they have gone thru extensive customer focused training. We had a Sea View room. It had 2 queen beds plus a day bed with a trundle. Air conditioniner worked well but we didn't really need it because there was a brisk breeze. Wifi access was hit or miss but that was OK. Bathrooms were fully stocked. They provided great amenities like full sized soap bars, toothbrushes, toothpaste and shampoo. However there were only bath towels, no hand towels. The bathroom lacked bright lighting. The hot water in the shower was also hit or miss. There were spots of mildew in the shower room. I would come back with family and friends. There was construction going on during our stay but it did not cause any inconvenience to us. It wasn't noisy.
Very relaxing place”
Staff were very friendly and accomodating. The entire resort was nice and very relaxing. Too bad the weather did not cooperate.
A very good place in Santa Ana”
Very friendly and helpful personnel. Nice and quiet location at the sea. A place we will visit again.
Only Good Hotel in Sta Ana”
Stayed here in May 2016 and is the only good resort in Sta. Ana. Very nice facilities and they said they are going to have a pool and casino by the end of the year. Overall good except for the beach it looks dirty but you can drive to Anguib Beach for that.
Til next time
