A quick 10 day stop...”
I needed a place to stay and get get some well deserved rest and recoup time..away from my busy lifestyle... AVANI was just the sort of place I needed.. not a 5 star resort in my opinion...as many facilities were lacking, and what facilities were there, were not in good working order...e.g.. bicycles all terrible working order.. but the food was OK.. so all in all.. the object for me was to rest, which I got plenty.. If you are looking for a quiet place with out the facilities and any kind of night life or entertainment ( as boats canoes bicycles etc..) then this not your place, however for my purpose..quiet rest.. is served it purpose.

Disappointment ”
The landscape and overlook for the resort is ok. But the food taste at the restaurant there is very disappointing. The seafood is not fresh and the food is taste badly also. The restaurant ceiling even leakaging. If it is called 5 star resort, I would say it is over rating. Not worth for the value of money.

Swimming pool is good, but few safety measures need to take. 1. Stainless steel frame at the entrance to the pool need to be removed. 2. The underwater lights not fitted properly. Can be dangerous.

Let down”
We did not really enjoyed our stay in Avani. First of, it was a long country road way to reach the property. Be prepare to just stay in the property for the whole trip as there is nothing much around the area. The staff informed us to contact when we need free buggy service but it never arrives. The room was so warm, requested for a portable fan but the hotel does not have any however they did offer to send a maintanace man but we refused it as it was too late for the hassle so we woke up sweating in the middle of the night. Seriously need to improve the buggy serivce, was quite disappointed at that as there was a big group of rude China tourist forcing themselves on it without queing for it.

The awani kids not so impressive and clean. Nothing much can the kids do there. Would be great to have more activities for kids. Lots of flies in the restaurant and cafe, especially during breakfast at bila villa restaurant/cafe. Some food are not covered and flies are everywhere. Buggy services need to wait for quite sometimes though it is not on weekend.

NOT WORTH IT AT ALL!!!”
We reached Avani about 2.45pm on 27 May and queue for almost 30mins before manage to check in. My biggest complaint was that once we checked into our room at about 3.15pm, it was so hot, the aircond was faulty. We were inform by the staff to wait for 10-15mins for it to turn cold. We waited 30mins but still no difference by then most of us are already sweating. I called the call center at 3.30pm to lodge a complaint and they promised will send engineering staff to take a look. At 4pm still no one turn up, then I called again, this staff asked me to wait for 45mins for the aircond to be cold. I find this absolutely doesn’t make sense. How can you asked the whole family to be soaked in sweat? We have 2 young kids and 2 elderly lady with us, can you imagine the crankiness in kids when faced with this hot situation? I called the call center at 4.30pm again and received the same reply to wait and my turn will be the next one (after queue for 6 rooms). At 5pm I can’t hold it anymore, I called for the last time and told the call center we will cancel the room and check out if this is not fixed immediately. I demanded to see the Duty Manager and while I was going there the engineering staff finally arrived. Lodged the complaint to the Duty Manager and after wasted another 30mins with him, he finally offered us with a late check-out (problem is we already have prior plan to check out on time to catch for lunch elsewhere) hence I’ve declined his offer. We have wasted almost 2 hours sitting in the hot room doing nothing but getting ourselves all sweat up. We are paying for a vacation and facilities in Avani Sepang and definitely not for a sauna!!! Aside from the above, we also feel the overall environment is not worth our stay:- 1) Parking – we need to park far from the resort, although they provide shuttle but it’s still inconvenient especially if you have accidently left things in the car (2 points of waiting – to and fro) 2) There were so many flies when we were having
