Away Koh Kood Resort is a perfect example of an island hideaway. Accommodations include bungalows and cottages with beachfront locations, and those interested in something a bit different can consider staying in a hut or island tent. The resort is also able to claim the largest activity and dive center on the island, so those inclined to forego rest and relaxation for things like snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and various sightseeing tours will find all of their needs met here. The property’s signature restaurant has a selection of international dishes, seafood, and Asian fusion creations on its menu. The resort is quite far away from the jetty Around 20 min driving but they have good systematic transportation. Staffs are super nice and welcome Room is good decoration and clean ,just only small tiny natural ant 🐜 bothers us sometimes. The dinner and breakfast are delicious and reasonable price. The resort sit nearby the beach and small bank which you can kayak if you need. There are free service for the guest. But the beach is full of the stones which you might not sit there, just only walk around and enjoy beautiful view is fine.Over all is great to stay.Thank you for our happy stay here.
Nice room, be clean & cozy. Lovely and friendly staffs! Super smashing grest!!!!!! Even they dont have private beach but So fun as we were padding kayak to the beach (in front of the resort). BBQ at Castaway is so good. Good breakfast alao.
The hotel location are convenient but the room and services are not worth the money. The water for shower and bath sink are salty like the use ocean water. I can’t even brush my teeth have to use bottle of water. Don’t feel clean after shower at all. We’re party of 5 so we’re booked for two separate room. My friends are staying at the duplex room which is at the back of the resort and have two floors. The second floor can’t feel the AC at all. I was hot and stuffy. They had to turn on the fan but it still feel the warm air. However, the hotel staff are not consistent because they replenish the bottle of water for them without asking everyday but my room which is Ocean front got nothing. Their breakfast was good but if you want to go eat the restaurant for lunch or dinner make sure you prepare for the wait because they take forever to cook your meal. Overall the hotel experience was acceptable.
Beautiful location to relax and forget city life. ”
Very nice hotel. Great location. Very pretty and quiet beaches. Staff very helpful and nice. Only problems we had were it’s a bit steep for old people and young people if you live on the hillside and the food was a little over priced for the quality! I don’t mind paying for good food. But it seemed like they didn’t have a chef. Oh a stray dog ate my take away off off the table on the balcony to!
Tranquillity and Luxery”
After a few days in busy Bangkok, which I enjoyed very much, i moved to Koh Kood for a few days. I Had booked the Away Koh Kood resort an i was really happy with the decision. Due to maintenance work - understandable for the low season - near by to the villa that i had booked, the resort gave me an upgrade to an ocean view villa at the beach. It was really beautiful. Beautifully buildt, spacious and with a view you will remember for a long time. The staff is very friendly and i'm not only saying that because of the upgrade that i have received. They helped me with planning a sightseeing trip of the island and advised me good on how to get to Cambodia. The resort has kayaks that you can use for free. I used one to go the waterfall close bye. I loved the resort and the eoole working for it.
Amazing location, beautiful bungalows but a bit of mold smell”
The meeting of river and sea was just so beautiful! Free kayaks were a plus that we used every day to cross the river to the next beach and also to explore the river till the waterfall. The room was beautiful amidst the trees but without view of the sea. The toilet/shower was rustic and could be better for the price (keeping the rusticity that fits the place and the resort concept but better maintained). A major problem if you are sensitive is the mold smell in the room (including pillows). They need to find a good (and ecological) way to avoid it! Food at restaurant was okay and it was easy to walk till very local places with good and cheap seafood.
Good for your relaxing day”
This place is quiet, friendly staff, free kayak boat, pool and very goodview, i like almost everything about this hotel, you will really relax here, but the supply water is a bit salty, you may buy some water for cleaning your face, however it is acceptable for me
A peaceful getaway”
This is a smallish resort in a good location and with a generally calm atmosphere. There is some work happening there at the moment and the staff seem intent on destroying some of the gardens by driving trucks over the wet ground and digging it all up - a little care and thought would go a long way! The staff are generally very friendly and helpful. There is a new experienced GM just started who should help to 'up' the service. The Ocean Front bungalows are great - could do with a fridge though. I would definitely stay again.
I could never have afforded this place in the high season, but I booked for a week in September and couldn't have been much happier. There were a few nitpicky things that I'm sure wouldn't have bothered other people, as well as one slightly bigger issue: the water that comes from the tap and the shower, while I'm sure is safe to drink, tasted horrible. I didn't realize and tried to make coffee one morning...gross. However, they do a good job of always keeping your room supplied with a ton of bottled water, so it was not a problem in the end. Highly reccomend!
Good location, surroundings, friendly staff”
The rooms are very nice the one in front of the sea. The gardens are nice and the staff friendly and helpful. Good time overall and Koh Kood is a wonderful island for those who seek relaxation, no nightlife and a quiet time. The food at the restaurant was tasty and not so expensive. For a quiet retreat with attentive staff this is a great place to stay and I would definitely be very happy to go back again.
Realxing and beautiful”
Stayed in a Deluxe Front Bungalow. Spacious and comfortable. Be aware there is no fridge and the bathroom has a semi-outdoor shower but the rooms are very nice, with lots of room and great views. The food is a little pricey but the staff extremely attentive and there is a quite and friendly place to stay. A lot of people seem to come in for 2 or 3 days especially over the weekend so if you are looking for a quieter stay you may try mid-week, although it was quiet throughout my stay. The hotel beach is not the best for swimming but there is a beach directly opposite which you can easily swim/kayak to - it is about 20 metres away! Great sunrise and sunsets. For a quiet retreat with attentive staff this is a great place to stay and I would definitely be very happy to go back again.
Beautiful setting, lovely staff.”
We had an early check in as took a sppedboat from Trat, and the staff were very welcoming. The location is lovely and the rooms simple but clean and comfortable with good sea views. Swimming options a little limited as small pool, but a short kayak ride to the lovely adjacent beach worth it.
hotel: the hotel itself is very nice on a hill side. rooms are clean and especially the deluxe ocean facing bungalows have a incredible view on the ocean and beach sides, even from your bed. the service itself in the restaurant is ok, sometimes a little bit slow though. food: the food in the hotel is ok whereas not excellent. food prices are the same as in the opposite resort captain hook/peter pan whereas the menu got more choices over there. as there is no direct connection between away resort and the opposite beach (besides the road which will take some time to walk down) the only choice for dinner will be the hotel's restaurant. activities: as the hotel does not have direct beach access (it has a beach that is protected by bigger stones from erosion) you will have to travel to the opposite side. this can be done by walking/swimming (approx. 20m) or renting a kayak. the kayak option has the advantage that you can also go up the river into mangroves and even up to a big waterfall in which's river bed you can swim. the opposite beach side has on one side the ocean, on the other side the river and the sand is one of the best that i saw in thailand till now. please take into account that certain areas of the beach are not well maintained as there is no hotel or bungalow complex close to it, on the other hand the advantage is that there are not many people on the beach (we were alone most of the time).
charming hotel on a privilege location”
we had a very pleasant stay at away koh kood resort. the staff were very helpful and service minded, the hotel was very well kept and clean. location was also great right on the end of the mangrove across which a pristine beach was awaiting guests. the free canoes were a nice way to commute too. a very special place!
we enjoyed the resort very much.after riding around island looking at other resorts we were glad we had chosen the away.fantastic views from the room, and a very nice room too.staff were very friendly and helpful.the resorts grounds were very well kept.if we ever go to koh kood again will stay there again.
Great place for a have it all affordable holidays ”
Greatest location on the island
Not good value for the money they ask”
Staying there is very expensive but the rooms are not worth it, the stairs are old and we were afraid to fall trough many times. Rooms are getting old already, they should renovate, then it would be a different thing. They don't have a beach, you have to cross with a kayaki to the peter pan resort beach, i would recommend you to stay in Peter pan instead the whole time.
Good location at heart of island.”
staff are nice, but my room view is blocked by other building. it not good as I expected from the price.
Perfect for vacation”
Staffs are excellent. Our room was clean but only the water smell a bit but still acceptable.
