Great location and friendly staff”
Friendly and helpful staff, close to shopping area and train station.
A modern hotel. There is a supermarket next to the train station. So, after your sightseeing and before you go back to the hotel, you could get some refreshment. Staff are very helpful. Take a look at the rooms' photo, I especially like how the room is decorated.

Great location and friendly staff”
This hotel is located close to the train station. It is also very close to a great shopping area. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
I had a wonderful experience staying in this hotel. As I said, location is superb, both close to the train station and the shopping area. There is also a very nice family-style cafe right across the hotel. From a woman standpoint, this hotel is clean and nicely designed. I especially like the toilet and shower area are separated. Interestingly designed shower area, couples would definitely enjoy it.

Comfy hotel providing the necessities”
Modern rooms equipped with the necessities. Felt the breakfast was overpriced. Black interiors highlighted the dust in the rooms (need vacuum cleaners with better filtration systems). Hoping the counter staff will become better acquainted with local services and facilities.

Ideal location”
Location, helpful staff and great facilities
Very pleasant stay. Room was comfortable and air con just about coped when needed against hot humid days. Only area for improvement was lack of any music in rooms - no free options on TV or any MP3 speaker - if you like some tunes as you potter about your room bring a little speaker for your phone. Otherwise if there was an option to play the reception area music in the room that would work

gay paradise”
proximity to gay bars, all the men you can eat, welcoming
Awesome hotel! Honestly, I had never stayed in a gay hotel before and this was quite an experience! Staff were very friendly and upgraded me to Junior suite. My room was spacious, clean, quite new, with comfy bed. hot tub and great shower! The spa is also worth going if you want to meet other guys staying at the hotel. Hotel's burger bar is good - buffet breakfast was really nice! Gay bars are located just around the corner from the hotel. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends!

Good money value, location, gay friendly
It was fun to stay this hotel. It was good money value and good location for gays. The only thing the room didn't have proper cloth closet, neither sleepers which were something basic, but have small roof top spa which is plus at night.

Good location”
Location, some helpful staff and it has a small gym
I was excited to stay in a 'gay hotel' as I have never done so before. The decor was pretty cool, but the black paint did show fingerprints. The layout of the hotel is interesting, but works well. The room was a little on the smaller side as we had little room to open our bags. The bathroom, however, was incredible! The shower has so much room and brilliant water pressure. The bed was hard, I'd suggest a mattress topper to management, and better pillows; my friend suffered a very sore neck and my back hurt after a few days. The wifi was very slow, frustrating when you have to pay €5/day for any device that exceeds the one free one. At most times there was barely enough speed to load a web page on my iPhone. The tv in the room is a decent size, yet doesn't accommodate an external device (we traveled with a bluray player for nights where we wanted to stay in) and at €12 for a movie to purchase through the tv.. Disappointing. The staff were friendly and helpful where needed, I will make particular note that the male night attendant was most friendly and helpful! Good location! Only 100m to a train station. My final point is the spa area. One of the points that attracted me to this hotel was that it had a gym. I think we may have been the only occupants interested in using the area for that purpose. No judgment cast, but it felt like more of a cruising strip for a beat. There was a Hetero couple who used the spa but cottoned on very quick, and I felt kind of bad for them. I will suggest Axel to my friends, and probably toy with the idea of staying in one of Axel's sister hotels.

great stay”
good location, great staff, nice jaccuzi
We had a great stay in the Axel hotel. The corridors are painted black and there are a lot of mirrors; so make sure you won't bump in to a mirror. There are sauna and fitness facilities, and a jaccuzzi with a nice view. That view is even better on the roof terras, that also has a bar. A little more room for clothes would be nice. The rooms are clean. The staff is great.

Perfect location for the Berlin gay scene”
Location and helpful staff
The Axel Hotel is on the doorstep of the Berlin Sconberg gay scene. Friendly helpful staff. Had a City room on the second floor overlooking the main road at the front if the hotel but road noise was not an issue. Room was clean and the daily service was good. Plenty of places to eat close by as well as a range of bars and other fenues covering a wide range of tastes! A few minutes walk from the Wittenbergplatz underground, so it's easy to get around and into central Berlin. Would definitely stay there again!

Good hotel with great staff”
staff, breakfast, internet, location
this hotel has wonderful staff. they were so kind and really made the experience very pleasant. i also thought the internet in the hotel was very exceptional and allowed me to video chat with great quality. there were even computer terminals on each floor making it very convenient to do business. i also thought the breakfast was quite good and rather tasty. i was impressed. the location was also great for shopping and going out. very centralised. however, i was a bit disappointed with the hot tub because it wasn't warm at all. they should probably try to repair or raise the temperature of it to make it more enjoyable and relaxing. overall, great hotel, great value.

nice spa-area at 6th floor. good place for relaxation or meeting other guests. free internetpc at every floor. free wifi, although not very good connection in all rooms. also it can become very slow due to massive use of grindr. :-) excellent location in west-berlin, near metro wittenbergplatz, kadewe and shoppingstreet kurfurstendamm.

Great gayfriendly hotel with excelent confort”
great rooms, spa, yakuzzi, gym, and sauna
Berlin in general has too many tourist as German say, so just expect to be treated correctly (not excelent) in high-stars hotels like this one. During my stay, the staff was correct and answered all my doubts. Also helped me printing an email and borrowing a Iron to iron my own Shirt, at now cost. The room was incredible nice high profile, modern (notice the lack enough closets spaces to put clothes in, which was not an inconvenient for me), very quite and in the core of the gay neighbordhood area. So I think it is a great place to go and I would indeed recommend others to go (mainly to LGBT and heterosexual couples, but also to families although in a second place).

Brilliant! Professional staff”
Staff member Diego - & location
the staff here are probably the friendliest, most attentive staff you could ask for. any requests i made were delt with professionally and within a half hour of making it. now i am an observer of people and staff and i often like to watch and take note of what's going on around me. i watched many clients come in to the hotel in the wee hours of the morning, obviously looking jet-lagged and frazzled. diego (who seemed to always be on the late shift) always greeted them with a welcoming smile and i observed his ability to make the client feel welcome. within 60 seconds his natural gifts would have the client smiling and laughing & happy to be checked in. i could see on these faces as they arrived the last thing they needed was any attitude or naffness. also, with details like any charges they may incur during their stay will be billed to their room & paid for when checking out. he would repeat these details again, to be sure they understood. this is important when arriving, especially when arriving so late at night when the client may not be taking in all the infomation the first time around. i could see that he is excellent at reading people when they walk in the door and working out what it will take for him to ensure the client felt genuinely welcome. another point to make, many gay venues, whether they were a hotel or shop or simular, have staff that can be somewhat sleazy. obviously diego was nothing like this but i have to say none of the staff gave the slightest sleazy vibe to myself or anyone for that matter. it was very refreshing, as personally i am over th sleazy elements of gay venues/hotels etc. my one and only gripe; the spa, which only has two jets (next to each other) was barely luke warm, and for someone like myself who has had back & neck surgery, this wasn't ideal. the steam room & sauna was overly lit as well (but clean). i genuinely hope that management are aware & appreciate diego's work 'cos he will go far in hospitality industry.

good location, rooms comfortable
i enjoyed my stay here: staff was friendly and helpful, the location is good, both for business and pleasure, and the beds are comfortable! the has modern, minimalist interior design, a bit dark due to the use of black walls in certain areas, but overall it offers good value for money.

Good value for money
the hotel is well located, just 100 meters from the main department store kadewe and metro station, staff are friendly, the windows in the rooms and corridors are too small, and several walls are painted black so the whole place feels like a club/disco, which is fine if that is what you want! beds are big and very comfortable, rooms are small. bathrooms are original, with one wall made of tinted glass, so be prepared to sacrifice privacy when travelling accompanied

Not as great as it looks”
The location in the old gay neighborhood is great
Not very good. First, we paid for a superior room and requested a king or queen size bed on the reservation. We come in, they send us to a room on 4floor with 2 single bed without warning us. We went back downstairs, they ask us to wait 2 hours maybe they will have a room available then... We came back one hour after and this time the guy told us they don't have queen or king size bed available at all this day !!! So we paid extra for a superior room. And had to stay with 2 single room!!!! The hotel didn't even seems like fully booked. Then Cleaning service hasn't been done once in 4 days! But when I checked-out they ask me to pay €4 for mini-bar for a Diet Coke we never took from!!! It was ridiculous! How they knew we have took something if they never came in the room! I just paid and let it go, but this hotel is a total joke!
