It was a place I visited during my honeymoon, and it was a place I really wanted to return to in Bali as a souvenir. During my honeymoon, I stayed in a villa, but on this trip with my kids, I stayed at Ayana Resort, and from the airport pickup service to check-out, I was truly satisfied. In particular, when I checked in, a staff member who could speak Korean named Haemin appeared like a comet and was incredibly kind and helpful. I mentioned that if possible, I wanted to take a photo in front of the villa where I stayed on my honeymoon, and although that villa is no longer there, he guided me to the door of the neighboring villa and even helped with a family photo shoot, giving us gifts, which was very touching. Stayed overnight with my wife: 1. Check-in / check-out - We arrived the resort at around 10am. They are very strict with the check-in time of 3pm but they allowed us to use resort facilities. - The check-out is fast and efficient. 2. Facilities and pools - There are a lot of swimming pools in the entire Ayana estate. You can use all the other hotels' facilities even if you are staying at Ayana Resort. - The famous river pool gets crowded so go there early to take good photos. - Their shuttle service around the estate is efficient. Easy to go around the area. - Kubu beach was nice. 3. Room - We booked the resort view king room - Very spacious - Bath tub with free bath bomb - Complimentary 2 cans of Bintang beer, 2 cans of Sprite, 1 can of Pocari Sweat - Shower gel, shampoo, lotion are complete - Our room was 1265 which is a bit far from the main lobby. Suggest ask for a room closer to the elevators. - The room is old but still in good condition - Had a good sleep. Bed and pillows were comfortable. - Bottled waters were regularly replenished. - Separate toilet and shower area 4. Resort - The interiors are very nice - Awesome views - The structure is quite old but well maintained - The common toilets are also clean and decent. - The chapel is beautiful. 5. In short, fantastic staff and facilities. You can spend whole day and night inside the resort. A small shortcoming using Agoda to book the room with 3 adult 2 kids, we were allowed to book the room with extra bed. When we arrived, we were told by AYANA staff our group size exceeded the room capacity. It is a little disappointing as we need to spend more to upgrade to bigger room. Guess this is system error using Agoda to book the hotel.

Breakfast @Padi has many varieties, but taste is not up to class (the worse compare to the last 7 resorts we stayed in Bali, and all other resorts like in Cebu, Phuket, etc. but better then Holiday Inn Maldives). Dinner at the restaurant opposite Padi and the Italian restaurant was not good as well. We booked ocean view king room, but was brought to a room where ocean view is viewable only from balcony. After we insisted we were change to another room with direct ocean view. The hotel has a good cliff & sea views, staffs are very friendly and helpful, a lot of drinking bottled water, room is clean. However over the 4days, we hardly feel winds (vey hot), this is different from all our previous experiences staying by the seaside. Unlike Nusadua, Melia, and Westin (we stayed before), there resorts has a beach and beach chairs right behind the hotel. To us, good and tasty food is very important when choosing a resort/hotel (this is negative). Friendliness & helpfulness of staffs is common for all the resorts we stayed before (this is not a positive, although not a negative) View is a positive, but without a swimmable beach and seaside activities is a negative. Going around is not convenient, but can call grab if you have the apps (the fare is more reasonable compare to asking the hotel to call a taxi, unless you can get a bluebird taxi which we took twice and the fares were reasonable). Well, depending on individual propose and liking, however, for us, we don't like a resort without tasty food. Also, we prefer a resort with proper beach with beach chairs, and we can walk along the beach stepping on the seawater as well as for a swim and some seaside activities. Oh, definitely with breeze/winds. I will not comment on this here, cause maybe this is due to season or what.

Ayana is a massive resort with at least 4 different lodging complexes within its closed gates. It’s size results in a multitude of varied restaurants, pools, and amenities to satisfy almost any guest. Trams run routinely to different resort destinations. There are rooftop lounges, bars built into the rocky cliffs, and even a few small but private beaches. The grounds are impeccable and there is an overabundance of helpful, courteous, polite staff who seem gratified to address one’s needs. We stayed at the older and more established Ayana complex in rooms with ocean views that were gorgeous. The rooms were cleaned twice daily, were beautifully furnished with stylish furniture and wall decorations, and were cool havens in the sometimes hot and humid weather. Our travel companions had some maintenance issues in their room that we quickly resolved and repaired within a day. Wifi worked well throughout the site. One potential drawback is the site is fairly remote. We were there during offseason and, even then, the traffic was terrible. It takes over an hour to get to Nusa Dua beaches or golf clubs or up North to the Kuta beach area for shopping or nightlife. For instance, there was a wide diversity of guests but we did not detect them to be a “party crowd”. If these activities interest you, look to another resort. Lastly, the majority of the staff are not yet English fluent (basic but not advanced or fluent) and it can cause some communication frustration to English speaking guests. For us, it was great. For others, maybe too secluded.

We recently stayed at Ayana Resort Bali, and there’s no denying it’s a stunning property. The resort is absolutely huge and beautifully maintained, with breathtaking views and world-class facilities. That said, for us, the size felt a bit overwhelming. It had more of a “typical large hotel” vibe rather than the warm, intimate feel we usually enjoy at resorts in Bali. One incident that left a sour note was when my husband tried to order just a coffee at one of the restaurants but was refused service unless he also ordered a meal — something we’ve never experienced at a luxury property before. Overall, Ayana Resort Bali is undeniably superb in terms of aesthetics and amenities, and I’m sure many travelers would love it. For us, however, it lacked the personal touch we look for, and we’re unlikely to return.

‘Rock Bar’ is one of the essential tick boxes for restaurants / bars, one must visit whilst in Bali. I actually went to rock bar and was so impressed with the hotel that i decided to chk in and stay a couple of days to experience it! Being a hotelier myself, i look closer at the finer details and to my surprise, this property got a 10 on 10 on every parameter! The oceanview from the infinity drop pool..the various different pools offering stupendous views..the quality and cleaniliness of the rooms..the views…the amenties in general and the staff! The breakfast and seevice is simply outstanding…and no, this is not a paid review! Im just a hotelier that likes to observe many parameters so that i can improve my own properties. The hotel is located on a 90hectare property which house 5-6 other hotels..all of which u have access to! We used the pools at 2 other properties and ate dinner at the chinese restaurant at the rimbak! Chk in to internal transport to check out..all seamless! Pricewise it is a 5 star hotel so definitely more pricey than other hotels in the area or in Bali generally…but when compared to other 5 stars..its worth every penny! Deft coming back….gr8 job by the management!

Stayed at the new Ayana Segara Resort King Room, and I can say it has been one of the best resorts I have visited in a long while. Service is top notch, room is spacious and clean, staff are so attentive (they even found an item I lost in the resort itself and delivered to my room), numerous pools to just chill in, Luna rooftop bar's view was just amazing. Special thanks to Albina at the Front Desk, she was attentive to all our needs and ensured we had what we needed during our stay at the Ayana Segara. If you want to visit the Jimbaran area, just spend the money and just book the resort before this hidden gem becomes mainstream. No regrets, and we will definitely be back!

This review is for new Segara resort with the Ayana Bali estate. Staying at the Segara was the best part of our Bali vacation. My husband and I last traveled to Bali 10 years ago, before we had kids, and I remember seeing Rock Bar and thinking, “I want to stay at this resort next time!” The Ayana estate overall more than fulfilled my expectations. The pool complex at the Ayana resort was amazing, especially the ocean views and the infinity pool. Staff were uniformly warm and accommodating, from the front desk to the doormen to pool staff. The Kids Club at both the Ayana and the Rimba (no KC at the Segara) were well-equipped and managed to keep our kids busy for awhile. You can even hire a daily nanny service through the hotel if you want a few hours to be an adult. Segara resort We stayed at the Segara, which is a more contemporary new resort within the Ayana complex. Rooms were modern and spacious, although still felt a little cramped with two kids. I really liked the coat room by the front door where we could stick all our luggage and hang coats. The breakfast buffet at the Segara is international with some Asian offerings and very delicious. During our stay at the beginning of January, it was also surprisingly packed! FYI: We were told that the breakfast at the Ayana and the Rimba focuses on Asian fare, and you have the option to eat breakfast at any of the resorts (one breakfast/day). One thing: since the Segara just opened in November 2022, the hotel seemed a bit bare or under-furnished in places, such as around the railings near the elevator on each floor. I get that the Segara has a sleeker aesthetic but it needs some decoration such as plants or wall paintings! Room: We had a very good 2 night stay in the ocean view room that comes with a balcony. The view in the balcony was really fantastic and was a super nice place to sit and chill after your night outdoor activities. However, probably they could improve by allowing us to adjust the room temperature as the room which we stayed was not cooling enough even when we reduced to 18degrees. Staffs: All the staff were very friendly and helpful including the servicing staff in their restaurants. The best thing was that majority of them speaks very fluent english and makes them very approachable. Dining: Rock Bar, KISIK and Kubu Beach Club come with excellent sea view. Highly recommend to try out the rock bar as the place was so beautiful that we went twice despite it’s the wet season now. Prices for Rock Bar and KISIK are abit steep but it’s totally worth the experience. Overall, this hotel comprises of so much activities and that a 2 night stay was totally insufficient. We wished we could have stayed another 2 more nights in this hotel.

Staying at segara Ayana we got in 1 day after soft opening. The staff greeted us with a huge smile. The welcoming was very smooth and friendly, and also was told I was upgraded (don’t know what was the upgrade because I purchased the king room with ocean view. And that is what I got) On entering the room, you feel the cleanliness and the feeling of coming in to a room that has never been used is a great feeling. The staff are very friendly and helpful, in receptionist, restoran, concierge , buggy driver and tram driver. This time happened to be one of my parents have leg pain and unable to walk, the staff directly offer the wheelchair and it was used for the whole stay. when we would like to eat at their restaurant, we are offered the buggy service (which we are supposed to take tram) maybe people will think yes they have should done it. But i can assure you not all hotels or even people will do it. But Ayana showed it sincerely, so we are very appreciate it. Thanks alot for the warm experience, we will come back sure.
