Some bad smells from fresh market so keep your windows close. The hotel is clean, room is clean, bathroom is clean. There’s toothbrush and toothpaste provided. Drink in frige is free even beer!! There’s Japanese breakfast in bf’s set included.

Lots of pleasant surprises”
My 1st visit to Myanmar, when I saw the Hotel photo with the famous Shwedagon Pagoda as background, I was attracted and booked it straight away. Yes, the Pagoda is just 500m walking distance , the Nite market street is interesting to explore on local lifestyle. The facilities are just good enough for me as a sole traveller, room is clean and neat, and I simple love the rooftop restaurant where you can have a nice view of the Pagoda, especially at nite. The friendly staffs namely Ms Zar Zar Nyein , Thiri Myat Mon can speak very well Japanese and English, that make my 1 st visit to this country of Golden land a wonderful trip.

Great location, friendly staff and very clean”
The best things about this hotel are the location and the staff. It is next to Bahan market at the base of Shwedagon Pagoda. It is a short walk to Kandawgyi lake and a short bus or taxi ride downtown. For such an active area, it is surprisingly quiet at night. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Plus, the staff were helpful with tips on where to get mohinga and generally answering all of our silly questions. Breakfast was fine, rice, eggs and fruit. Definitely filling enough. I will be back again in January.

Yangon's hidden gem”
The location is fantastic, you walk out the driveway and straight into a local market, before you know it you're at shweddagon Pagoda. Later in the evening the market fills up with local food vendors and just a couple of buildings down from the hotel is a small convenience store that sells cheap beer. Unless you bump into other guests entering or leaving the hotel you probably won't see any other tourists. Our favourite spot was to take a couple of beers up to the rooftop and watch the sunset behind the Pagoda. I reckon it's got to be the best view in Yangon and we spent every sunset up there with our cameras before heading out for the night. It's about a 30 minute walk to the bogyoke markets. You can't fault the staff, they were very helpful and friendly and gave us great advice as well as helping us book internal flights.

Great hotel for visiting Shwedagon Pagoda and surrounds”
We enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful and the hotel room was large and comfortable and, even though we didn't have the full Shwedagon view, we had a great view nonetheless. The only downside (and here we've been spoiled in Myanmar) was that the breakfast was fairly ordinary. But all in all a great place to stay. Visit the Mon Ethnic Restauraunt a few blocks away while you are there. It's great.

Perfect Location; Good Value for a Short Term Stay”
Pros: The location of Lavender hotel is situated about 3 -5 minutes walking distance to the main Pagoda in Yangon. There is also a huge street market right when you walk outside the hotel. You have a beautiful view of the Pagoda from the balcony as well. Staff and security are super friendly! It's great place to stay for 24-48 hours. Housekeeping does a great job with cleaning the rooms and bathrooms. Cons: The hotel has a lot of potential but is overall pretty run down; the rooms are older, bathrooms are tiny, the breakfast balcony looks worse for ware. The breakfast is awful; doesnt cater much to people wanting a traditional western breakfast; the juices are not fresh and the fruits weren't either. The hotel has potential to be more than just an average or little below average place simply because of its relevant location but it seems the bare minimum is done here in terms of facilities. Overall our experience was good for the short time.

3rd time here already ! ”
It was my third time staying at this hotel when I was in Yangon. This time, I went with my 83-year-old grandfather. He enjoyed it a lot. The view of Shwedagon Pagoda from the windows is stunning ! The staff are so helpful and always smile. They also lent us umbrellas for us to be able to go to the pagoda and called a taxi for us many times without any charges. We paid with the rate of locals. Moreover, the hotel has renovated the rooftop area. So, you can enjoy the breakfast there seeing the beauty of the pagoda in the morning. :)

Fantastic”
The hotel is a very short walk from the Shwedagon Pagoda, which was one the main reasons I booked it. Having stayed, I would return to the hotel even if not planning to revisit the pagoda. The busy street outside also makes for an interesting walk. My room was small but functional with a desk and chair that were actually comfortable to use and a bathroom that functioned properly. The room was clean and well maintained. The top floor has a dining area with a great view of the Pagoda and an excellent onsen/rotenburo with a little sauna. Everything was very nicely done and in great condition. Breakfast is aimed at the mainly Japanese clientele and was good, and a tray of toast and croissants gave a small ‘western’ option if needed. Having some local fruit available would be a welcome addition. I was very impressed with the staff, who were all helpful, cheerful and unfailingly polite.

Right next to the big pagoda”
Great stay. Walking distance to the main big pagoda (don't know how to spell the name). Nice area to walk around and see local activity. We were there for the full moon festival so the streets were packed and the traffic was bad around the hotel. Great place to stay to see Yangon

Convenient place, great view of Shwedagon, Friendly staff”
This hotel is located in a location where you can find cheap and authentic food too eat. Also, the hotel is five min walk to Shwedagon Pagoda! It means you can watch the pagoda closely from its rooftop for free! Taxis are everywhere around the hotel. Don't worry about transportation. The room is clean, but the space is limited. The bathroom is also super small. If you have a big body , try superior room type. I think it comes with a bigger bathroom. Anyway, here they don't separate dry and wet zones. The floor tiles can be slippery. The breakfast is so so. The coffee and juice are not that good.

Good hotel”
For the price we paid, the hotel was above satisfactory however on our first night a light bulb blew and tripped the electronics in our room. Which freaked us out a bit, however the hotel was quick to resolve our problem by moving us to a different room in the middle of the night. The rooftop Onsen is a must try, it's located next to the eatery at the top floor!!

Shwedagon Pagoda views”
The major advantage of this property is its proximity to the east gate of Shwedagon Pagoda, making sunrise and sunset visits (the best times to go) very easy. The market street on which the hotel is located is fun to explore too. There are a few simple restaurants nearby. Downtown Yangon is a 25 min walk or easy taxi ride.
