we were very well received, we were offered a refreshing drink, our room was beautiful with flowers everywhere, the houses are in a traditional style with wooden decorations. We had breakfast in a nice air-conditioned room overlooking the river, I feasted. There are pretty terrace, plants and fountains, a beautiful pool, it's very smart and classy. The resort offers free transportation to the floating market. We had a great time. We want to come back ! It was perfect.
Fabalous time @ Baan Amphawa Resort & Spa”
Pretty complete with very good breakfast, cosy room and great friendly staff. Hotel is by river too and provide many amenities support...including free Bicycle and lots more.
A dream come true”
It was my girlfriend's birthday weekend, so we chose the pool villa. This was the best choice. The staff have us the 'honeymoon' treatment, ie flowers, cake, private buggy to take us anywhere and were so pleasant and polite at all times. I will definitely stay here again.
A perfect relaxing mini break”
Impressive mini break. It is so convenient to go to amphawa. a great genuine thai cultural and retail scene which everyone in the family can enjoy some shopping, great food, culture and nature. It only took one hour. The hotel has a great location by the river and away from the bustling market but not too far to get there. great river view of the restaurant. great food and service. We love the souvenir shops which carry all the must buy items of the area at reasonable price so we don't have to leave the hotel to park and buy things from different shops. mini bar prices are reasonably fair which is a rare find. room is small but clean and comfortable. We will do it again for sure.
Comfortable stay away from Bangkok city”
It was not difficult to find, highway 9 from the Suvarnabhumi, then it naturally joins to highway 35 as you travel westward. Took about 1,5 hours. Once near the hotel there is a big white sign saying Baan Amphawa. They provide shaded parking, so the car remains cool. A few meters away is the reception, fast checkin and a golf buggy sends you to the villa. Very natural surroundings many healthy plants. About 10 minutes away is Amphawa floating market, it starts about 3 pm; but most are open by 5 pm. Also not far, about 20 minutes is Damnuen Saduk floating market; it start morning and most are closed by lunch time. There are also smaller markets around the area. Most of the small ones open on the weekend in the morning.
Great stay with only minor setbacks”
First and most important, the staff is amazing. They make you really feel welcome. You will need 10 to 15 min to the city center so this is very good. The one thing that was really bad, or still is, is the Wifi. Overall 4 out of 5

Peaceful stay with in a soothing environment”
The hotel is not far from the Amphora Floating Market. Guests are provided with free shuttle to the floating market. Free bicycles for guests. Breakfast by the river with great view. Breakfast is good. Staff are helpful and polite. We stayed in a two-bedroom unit with a living room, all rooms had a TV - we were offered a free upgrade from 2 deluxe rooms to this 2 bedroom suite. The rooms are spacious. A basket of fruit is provided on the first day which was a nice welcome. The ensuite bathrooms have both shower room and a bath. It happened that the hot water didn't work so well. Water wasn't warm enough and we can't adjust the temperature. Coffee and variety of tea including 6 bottles of water per day are complimentary. We had a good stay in this peaceful atmosphere.
Top class Resort and Spa”
We had a agrable stay at the friendly and clean Amphawa Resort and Spa. A friendly sawati krap, a short massage and a welcome drink were offered before moving in the room. Also the morning buffet fullfills every wish.
An oasis of calm”
The resort is off the beaten track, but the staff will run you to Maeklong for 100baht and you can get a Tuk Tuk back for 120baht. Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly and the facilities are good. They even provide umbrellas for the rain. Very clean room. The only down side was the lack of power sockets in the room and also the fact that the safety deposit box whilst large, is not attached to anything!!! We would stay again though.
hotel at the river”
Pro - not so expensive - restaurant in the hotel Cons - not so noise-isolated. we had a big group of Thai travellers, who woke up at 5:00 and were very loud. Chatting in normal loudness could be heard easily through the wooden walls
Good value-for-money, perfect place for a weekend relaxation.”
We arrived late because of the heavy traffic all the way from Bangkok. All the staff are very nice, friendly and attentive. The pool villa we stayed was a bit old but full functionally equipped. The electronic safe box didn't function properly but they put a new one for us right away. There were a lot of complimentary soft drink, snacks, tea and capsule coffee. The shuttle bus to the floating market is very organized and absolutely helpful. The old driver is very friendly. This resort is landscaped with a lot of nice trees. We really appreciate it.
Nice resort away from the city”
I was there with a friend and we stayed one night. Everything was lovely... the only comments I could make to improve the stay would be 1. there were insects in the room as soon as we went in after check in and had to ask them to spray the room down with insect repellent a couple times 2. the DVD player did not work when we tried to play the DVDs available at the lobby so we had to ask hotel staff who very kindly assisted with solving the issue, but it took 1 hour for them to realise it was the DVD player that was defected and they had to replace the machine 3. there were no English channels on the available TV channels (which is why we had to watch DVDs instead) Anyway those were all small issues and we still very much enjoyed our stay.
Pleasant getaway from Bangkok”
Very nice quiet place on the river. Very pleasant traditional Thai décor. The cheaper rooms are on the ground floor, and upon arrival the staff suggested we upgrade to the Thai style bungalows; at a cost of 800 baht extra..a bit pricey but probably better then hearing someone walk on your ceiling in the lower rooms. Pretty good breakfast buffet. Best if you have a Car.
Feel Thainess with friendly staff”
Hotel is in great isolated location. It was quiet, clean, and peaceful. I enjoy the activities you can do there, such as biking in neighborhood, swimming in different pools, feeding monks in morning, sit back and relax, boat sightseeing with fees. The rooms itself was nice in Thai house. Rooms downstairs are a kind of stuffy and small. The playground for kids are run down, broken, and untaken care of for quite some time. I enjoy breakfast food because of Thai menu. It of course can be a better in terms of selections. Over experience is quite ok, and will be better if lots of amenities are kept in good operation and maintenance.
Good for relax”
Actually, the hotel is so far from the airport, we took about 2hours to reach the hotel. Good: 1. Hotel provides shuttle bus to and from the Amphawa floating market. 2. Can borrow bicycle during your stay 3. Staff are nice, helpful, initiative, pro-active. Bad: 1. Hotel is quick old, like the sofa, television. Honestly, we experienced some unhappy things during our stay, however, I think the staff have done a great job to comfort us and compansate us. I really appreciate their effort.
Great place to spend time over the weekend ”
We stayed in deluxe Thai house (upstairs). The room is decorated in ancient Thai style. Bathroom floor is made of wood. Good for napping whole day. The resort also provide spa service and bicycles to travel around the area. Staff are friendly and polite. We also gave alms to monks as a morning activity before breakfast by the river. And took free shuttle service to Ampawa floating market in the evening. It was a really good stay for 1 night. Just only 1:20 hr drive from bangkok.
Baan Amphawa is so nice”
I was totaly impressed by traditional Thai culture and the warmth and happiness of the staff. The staff could not have been more helpful. The garden and river setting were so nice and the swimming pools were a real feature. But the outstanding feature apart from the great accomodation was the wondeful food Thank you Baan Amphawa
A touch of Thai style luxery”
A wonderful hotel close to Amphawa floating market. The rooms are very well decorated and really look like a small Thai house village (choose the deluxe rooms). The hotel organize transfer to Amphawa with boat and bus shuttle which is very convenient. Breakfast is very good and will fill you with Thai and international food. One regret : we did not have time to try the spa and the swimming pool.
