The Best Place to Stay in Ayutthaya for me!”
I loved the ancient style room. It reminded me of our old ancestral house in one of the provinces here in the PH. The location is very easy to find and is very accessible. Simply ride a train right outside DMK airport. Once you arrived at the station, the hostel is very near. It took me 2 mins to arrive from the station! Definitely a great place to stay!
Wonderful Experience ”
I only stayed one night at Baan Are Gong, but it was well worth the money I paid. Right next to the water taxi it’s easy to get across to the main area of Ayutthaya where you can rent bikes and explore the city. Don’t rent them on the Baan’s side of the river as you have to pay more to cross with the bikes. I also booked the night water tour with them for 180 Baht; worth the money to see the sunset over the temples!! I was scheduled to take the night train to Chaing Mai after my day in Ayutthaya. The owner let me keep my backpack at the Baan after checking out while explored the city and allowed me to hangout for the afternoon and take a shower before leaving. I would definitely recommend this place!
Pretty terrasse on the river”
Wooden beautiful house with nice restaurant’s terrasse over the river. Big room and big bed. You hear everything from your neighbours (wooden house ;) One bathroom for all the rooms but very clean and confortable. The lady was very kind to open the main door for me at 4am, thank you! Quite easy to go to the center if you get the little boat to cross the river,
Situated so close to the railway station was a definite plus. Friendly and cooperative staff. I enjoyed staying in what was originally, a traditional Thai home. I have no hessitation in staying here again.
Great location, good rate but a bit noisy”
Nothing wrong with the Baan Are Gong, except that it is built in such a way that if people upstairs walk, it sounds like a herd of elephants is passing by. I had a downstairs room just next to the reception so that didn't help for a quiet stay. I think the upstairs rooms are better. Apart from that staff are nice, food in the riverside restaurant is great (the breakfast is strongly recommended) and the location is perfect; a 2 minute walk from the railway station and right at the pier where a small boat can help you cross the river into town.
Brilliant budget stop over ”
We only stayed one night but it’s such a lovely atmospheric place, it’s a quirky little place and so lovely to sit at the front by the river for breakfast or a snack. Staff were really lovely and helpful, definitely recommend!
Great location, very friendly staff, super nice food served in a lovely spot overlooking the rivers. The rooms upstairs were a bit noisy but very beautiful, with wood panelling, but because we decided to stay longer, on the second night we had to upgrade to an en suite room with aircon on the ground floor, and this was very quiet (if less pretty!). Definitely would stay here again.
Worth if stay & value of money”
Exactly what i want when im staying. The Homestay is nice, authentic and classic! Village style with bit of edgy. The owner (i believe so) did courtesy check since im muslim and suggest me where to get halal food nearby and across the river. Please informed this is wooden style of homestay so definitely there’s no sound proof. We can even hear our next room snoring LOL!. Its fine for me. So if you want to experience classic yet edgy kinda stay. Here is the best place and it just cross the railway station to get here.
Well located across the street from the train station and next to the pleasant and efficient river ferry (5 baht, runs every 10 minutes or so), but down a quiet soi. The restaurant terrace overlooking the river is beautiful and the property is cute. The room was as pictured online, but with a door that provided pretty much no sound insulation from the lobby that it directly fronted and there was a noisy pipe right above my bed with something pulsing the water on and off irregularly all night long (dishwasher or something?) which prevented me from getting more than a couple hours of sleep. I can deal with traffic noise or predictable noise, but that just stopped me from sleeping even with earplugs in.
Welcoming traditional place to stay”
Located just across the street to main train station in a quiet area. the boat pier to cross river is 2 min walking. The house is made of teak wood in traditional style. just beautiful! rooms are nice and clean. there is a fan in the room. staff is knowledgeable and can help with booking tours/transport. great place to relax with view over the river. i would stay here again.
Best Hotel Near Train STation”
I booked the hotel while we were on the train from Nong khai, good thing the pwner is online and she can accomodate us at 4am. We stayed there for just 3 hours and leave our bag to do the tpur around ayutthaya.. I can say that this is a cozy place, very clean and good shower. If you are looking for a hotel just near ttain station this is the hotel for you..
Very nice place near by trian Station and you can go everywhere from here. The staffs they so kind. ”
Very nice place and beautiful good view. Near to the trian station. The staffs they so kind and friendly. From here you can go everywhere so easy. You can rent a bike 50bath per day. The homestay feel like stay at home. Top!
Exceptional location. Do the sunset boat ride from them too! May not be quiet if in downstairs room, but was fine for me. I accidentally broke a glass and they wouldn’t let me pay for it.
Breat value for money. Great location near train station and boat pier. A very nice restaurant setting and nice staff. Good atmosphere
The place is great and the hostess is so lovely and helpful. It’s nice to not be in the middle of the island which is hectic but the ferry boat station is right next to the place. The train station is right there too. Great food, awesome dog!
Conveniently situated near train station and walking distance to local food stalls. Nearby bicycle or motorcycle rental shop. Also has dining cafe in the property by the riverside where you can enjoy your meal with the ambience of riverside atmosphere.
Efficiently run, clean, good value.”
Good location for the train station - not so good for the sights, but bikes are nearby to rent. The rooms are gorgeous - spacious & clean. They are are very warm in the hot season as made entirely from wood. The beds are super comfy. The staff are helpful and on hand to answer any questions.. The restaurant was under renovation when I was there so no food (no good breakfast options nearby either, but evening food available opposite the train station) or communal area. When renovated this guest house will be perfect.
We just stayed one night here and this was a perfect place to stay due to it being very close to the train station. If you want to walk around in Ayutthaya it is quite a bit to reach the temples.
Beautiful heritage guesthouse nearby the train station”
+ Could drop our bags and relax in the common area at 03:00 at night. Very nice and helpful family and staff. Good food at connecting restaurant overlooking the river. Bicycles, motorbikes and more are rented out a few houses nextdoor for reasonable prices and in acceptable condition. – Centre is accessable with either a regularly running 1 minute ferry (5 baht for each person, bicycle etc.)(last one departing already around 20:00) or a heavily trafficated road crossing the river a couple of minutes south.
Lovely hostel with amazing staff”
I couldn't fault anything with this hostel. Staff was so friendly and food was so good. Was nice to have a hot shower after a while :) Location is great next to the train station and the ferry to town and park (only 5 baht ). Bed was really confortable and the room was in a really cool classic style.
