Enjoyed My Stay”
The hotel was an easy walking distance to the centre and Night Market. with music, food and shopping. You can rent a bicycal two minutes from the hotel and see various parts of the city and nearby country for about $3 for 24 hours. As in some other accommodations, the price you pay on line may be lower than you are asked to pay if you want to extend your stay. If the rate is higher to extend your stay then extend your stay online. The breakfast was good and filling. You can have your laundry done with one day service in several places near the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed Chiang rai and the hotel.
I had a down stairs room (Agoda) coming into Chiang Rai and an upstairs room (cheaper from Bookings) when I returned 4 days later. The downstairs room was nicer and worth the 166 baht more in my opinion. Both rooms were good sized. The automatic coffee machine made a good latte and breakfast was good enough to start the day.
Simple, but amazing value for money. The owner is very lovely and helpful and speaks good English. Nice breakfast is included in the price. The location was convinient because it's close to the night market and the bus station.
Good value, close to night market and bus station”
Pros: Large, clean room with very wide bed. Room was lovely and quiet at night. Cons: As the room was near reception and had big glass doors you had to close the curtains for any privacy, which was a shame in the daytime.
Situated in a quiet street,a few little restaurants across the road,a fair amount of local transport available, taxis and tuk tuk a ,two streets away from central bus station for easy travel plans. As a budget option I was happy with everything!
Left feeling cheated ”
I booked a Superior room and was given a standard room that was not particularly nice. When I raised this issue and asked them to refund the difference they said the rooms are “same same” however they advertise 2 different kind of rooms. I’m currently contacting agoda to refund my money as they didn’t want to lose face, kind of silly getting this review because I would’ve been happy just to get $6 difference in a refund, but instead they got this review.
Nice option to stay here!!”
Fame has been very helpful, kind and fun! All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Right away they made me feel at home and I will be sad to leave here!
Value for money. Basic breakfast. The room was a bit small but the location was very good and very close to the bus station. First night the air con was leaking so we have to change our room. Everything was ok, the stuffs were very helpful. We booked a slow boat to Lunag prang through the guesthouse.
Friendly staff, but location a bit removed from things”
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room and breakfast were both OK. It is set back kind of a ways from the main street. I picked it because there appeared to be a good selection of restaurants around it. I didn't really find that to be the case. If I were to choose again, I'd pick a place over by the Clock Tower. There is a great place for khoa soi there (Pho Chai). Make sure you go see the "White Temple" (shouldn't be more than 160 baht taxi). After seeing it, to the "Black House" (300 baht between them). I must not have had my SIM card yet to use Grab, there were lots of taxis around, but I assume there is Grab there as well. Grab is definitely the way to go in Thailand and Malaysia (in George Town the standard rate quoted to the airport was 50 ringgits, a Grab ride was 20 with no drama, BTW it was a standardized 44 from the airport to George Town and the driver didn't know where the hotel was - with Grab, all the drivers and clients have GPS).
It was good staying better than the ‘Hi Chiang Rai hotels.”
This hotel cheaper and clean and service good than " Hi Chiang Rai hotel" , because I 1st booking Hi Chiang Rai hotel ' and receptionist give me low great room for RM550 for day days..So I very angry change to Baramee hotel.
Very basic and small rooms”
Pros -helpful staff Cons - rooms are very basic and small, even the newer ones - non-existent soundproofing, especially from outside - rooms in the first floor don't get much fresh air and sunlight, second floor has only twin beds and older standard rooms (plus one bigger but nonetheless basic room) - internet getting congested all the time (no QoS for shared connection)
- Basic hotel but we were satisfied. For us (in the room basically only for sleeping) good choice considering the price. - Basic equipment and furniture but clean - Nice staff - Very basic breakfast - Small room, nowhere to put clothes to (there is a wardrobe but with no shelves nor enough hangers)
The staff(man) provides really great service”
The staff-man in the reception, he is really kind and provides best service during staying at chiangrai. Tnx for it
Five star Steph!”
What a wonderful staff and great experience we had staying at this hotel. Very close to the night market and bus station. Saul nothing but smiles and the people working there. Highly recommend!
Great clean room. minutes walk from bus station, night bizarre. next door is pay washing machine or pay/kg laundry. staff very helpful, helped us with bus arrangements to Loas. Bus picked us up a 6am and they brought out coffee and toast/fruit for us even though breakfast didn't start until later. Would stay again
This guesthouse is an overall good experience and value. The owner worked the front desk, she was very helpful and friendly. We were on a short timeline and she arranged a tour for us to see some local sites in the morning of the day we had an afternoon flight. We would stay again.
Nice guesthouse in quiet location”
Third time I've stayed here and is good value for money. Staff always friendly. Breakfast is just very basic toast and jam with some fruit, very sweet orange juice drink and instant coffee. Short walk to bus station and main street with restaurants etc.
Great little B & B in quiet location but near enough to centre of Chiang Rai”
This is a great little family run B & B in Chiang Rai near to all amenities in town centre. Set in a quaint little soi nice and quiet with restaurant opposite. room was very basic with A/C all clean, clean bed and bed linen. No breakfast but free coffee/tea and water. Very helpful staff would use again.
Nice and clean, very close to the bus terminal”
Stayed one night at Baan Baramee. The owner is very nice and she helped me arrange a scooter rental for several days because I wanted to ride to Mae Salong the next morning. It only took 15 minutes and the scooter was delivered to the guesthouse. Sweet and easy. The guesthouse was quiet and I got a good night's sleep. There are no noisy bars or clubs nearby, but if you want that all you have to do is walk up the street and in 10 minutes you'll be in the center of town. There's a mom and pop grocery shop nearby, too, if you need snacks, but beer and soft drinks are available for purchase from the guesthouse cooler, too. Shower was nice a hot with good water pressure and the bed was comfortable with clean smelling sheets and pillowcases. Overall a good experience.
One of the best guest houses we have stayed at in South East Asia so far. Great location just off the main road and 5 minute walk to the night market. If you are visiting on a Saturday, be sure not to miss the Saturday night market (10-15 minute walk - amazing!!). Hotel was clean, staff very friendly, room was spacious and clean. Wifi worked well and the air conditioning was great. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was so cosy!! Breakfast every morning toast, jam, butter, coffee, juice, bananas. Just what you need to set you up for the day. Tip: if visiting the white temple, go to the bus station (5 minute walk) and there is a bus going to the white temple many times a day. It is a local bus, but says white temple on the side of it. Only 30 baht. Overall great hotel and would stay again.
