Just perfect”
Baan Klang Wiang was a perfect hotel for a solo traveller or couples without children. The hotel is quiet and intimate wtih luxurious rooms individually furnished in the Lanna style. A centralised courtyard foyer area around the pool is used to serve breakfast which again is individually prepared not buffet style. Along the way, the staff are approachable and very helpful in answering any questions or advice to get around the city. They appear to take great pride in making your stay enjoyable and memorable and it certainly worked for me! The location, though tricky to find at first, becomes a godsend as you escape the noise and tourist feel of most other hotels once return 'home' at the end of the day. It is located in the Old City, not far from the Chiang Mai Gate. Transport to areas such as the night bazaar is simple using tuk tuks or the red 'trucks' costing between 20Baht and 60Baht each way. A walk around the Old City and its cobblestone roads orientates you to much of the city and familiarises you with the everyday life of the Thai people.

Best Boutique Hotel in Chiang Mai”
I love this hotel and I cannot wait to come back to Chiang Mai and stay at Baan Klang Wiang. We stayed at the hotel for (4) nights. Upon our arrival we were given our keys and our room was ready so we didn't have to wait. We were in room 10 and it was right across from the temple and you could hear the monks chanting in the morning and at night. it was so peaceful and powerful. The room was really cute and it was large! The bathroom and shower was large, there was a fridge and a family room. My only complaint was that there were some ants in the bathroom, but it didn't bother me too much. The AC worked great and it was never too hot or too cold. Oh they also have an iron but no ironing board. This probably doesn't matter to most people, but my husband is an obsessive about having his clothes ironed. The breakfast was amazing and included with the room rate. You eat breakfast poolside, and the pool is small and not really meant for people to spend a day at, but honestly when you are in Chiang Mai you should be out and about and not at the hotel pool. I think overall our room was about $100/night and this was during Loy Karthong (lantern festival), so I thought for sure the room rates would sky rocket. The hotel only has 10 rooms, so it's very cozy and boutique. The staff is attentive and so friendly! The only other issue was that some of the tuk tuk and cab drivers didn't know the location, so it is helpful to have a map with you with the marked location. Thank you for an amazing stay and I cannot wait to come back!

an absolute gem in Chiang Mai's old town”
We stayed here for 3 nights and wish we could've stayed longer! Baan Klang Wiang is an absolutely hidden gem inside Chiang Mai's Old Town, near the south gate. The moment you step out of the road and into the lobby, you're transformed into a mix of old colonial, Chinese, Thai, and Southeast Asian decor. You can tell someone meticulous selected every item to be placed in and around the property. There's so much character in this little hotel that has maybe 10 rooms max. We had Room #5 upstairs. It was quiet and had everything you needed: a comfortable bed, a safe, toiletries, bath robes, LCD TV, antique-looking but fully-functional furniture, and small love seat, coffee table, and mini fridge. The staff was always friendly and ready to help with anything you need. The breakfast was also very impressive. You select what type of meal you want the day before (they will give you a piece of paper with all the options), and you go downstairs in the morning and enjoy your meal by the pool or in the main lobby. And the food is delicious! We didn't try the western meal (why would we? we're in Thailand!) and loved the porridge, noodle soup, and the traditional Northern Thai meal with different small plates of food (think dim sum or korean banchan). At times, we enjoyed the hotel more than Chiang Mai itself!!

YOU MUST STAY HERE! ”
I had the BEST time at Baan Klang Wiang on my recent trip to Chiang Mai. I loved it so much I extended my stay 2 extra nights and they were able to easily accommodate this request. The rooms are clean, fully equipped with all the essentials including soaps, water bottles, and minibar. The daily breakfast is OUT OF THIS WORLD. One morning I wasn't able to make it to breakfast because I had an early morning tour and they packed me a to-go breakfast filled with yogurt, hard-boiled egg, 3 pastries, a juice, and a water. I was so overwhelmed with how generous they were. Additionally, I was able to do laundry services there (they send it out and it comes back within 1-6 hours). The location itself is about 10 minute walk to restaurants and bars. As a female solo traveler, I felt very safe walking there at night and I walked pretty much everywhere. They don't have a gym if you're into that sort of thing but they do have a beautiful pool! Look no further, stay at Baan Klang Wiang!

Luxury at a bargain price”
If what you are after is a little piece of paradise in the Old City, go no further than Baan Klang Wiang. So many places throughout the hotel to chill out to read a book or listen to music. Breakfast was fantastic - ordered the night before and freshly cooked at your chosen time. Decor and cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable. Best we've experienced in Thailand so far. Close to the Chiang Mai Gate, so easy to catch a tuk tuk, songthaew or taxi to anyway you wish to go. Fresh food market just minutes away near the Chiang Mai Gate. Everything is easily accessible.

Very nice place and service”
my boyfriend and i and 4 friends stayed here while on a short break in chiang mai to mountain bike, visit the elephants and enjoy the city. we were upgraded on arrival to a junior suite which was beautiful with the most comfortable four poster bed and small lounge area and our friends rooms were of a very good size too. the staff were very friendly and helpful and there was free wifi. breakfast was good but a little confusing because you had to order what you wanted the day before with a tick system. however what then arrived the next morning was always a little different but the coffee was great! it was too cold at this time of year for swimming in the pool. our tour companies and taxis did get confused sometimes as there are 2 baan klang wiangs apparently and the hotel is on a side street, but no real problems arose and it is really near everything. we had a free transfer back to the airport when we left and the staff even gave us a takeaway breakfast as our flight was very early. we really appreciated this!

Paradise!”
unfortunately i was not feeling well for the first couple of days we stayed at baan klang wiang, but i couldn't think of a better place to relax and recover! every corner of this little hotel has been designed to offer a beautiful relaxing environment and the quality of each item gives a delicious sense of luxury. the location is tucked a way in a little laneway (exploriing chiang mai laneways is a great way to spend a day) but it is an easy 3 minute walk to the morning market where you can get a tuk-tuk to anywhere else you might want to go. breakfast is delicious and very generous, the pool is refreshing and salt water chlorinated, the beds are firm but very comfy, the rooms are really spacious and the bathrooms spotlessly clean with great water pressure. this is the only hotel i would consider next time i go back to chiang mai.

THe hotel staff are kind and thoughtful.”
The Baan Klang Wiang hotel is pretty and quiet. The staff are attentive and helpful. My companion and I both have food allergies and not only were they conscientious about this but even wrote it for us in Thai so we could have it on hand when traveling around the city. Unfortunately, we did leave a day early. This was not in any way related to the hotel but Chiang Mai itself was shrouded in a haze of very significant pollution - a shame for such an interesting city.

Exceptional stay”
Baan Klang Wiang is pretty close to perfect as a delightful place to stay in Chiang Mai. The staff are truly amazing and made us feel comfortable and welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast each day was delicious and as varied as you want. We stayed in Room 4 which I would thoroughly recommend as it is close to the pool and has a gorgeous outdoor sitting area, which we treated as our own private space! It is conveniently located within walking distance of many of the main sites in the old city. Make sure you get a Thai massage in the Wat across the road. Only 150 baht and very good.

Wonderful little hotel”
We loved our stay at Baan Klang Wiang. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite which was quite spacious and beautiful. The location is great and you can walk to all the main sights as well as restaurants. The staff was very accommodating, and helped us with any questions. The only downsides were that our room was on the street and could get noisy at night, but it wasn't that big of a deal, also we had some ants in the bathroom area. I know they are everywhere in Thailand and hard to get rid of so that didn't bother us too much. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel while staying in Chiang Mai.

An atmospheric stay at a charming period style boutique hotel in the old city of Chiang Mai.”
If you like the traditional or colonial style of hotel, this one is for you! A beautifully furnished and decorated Chinese period residence, arranged around a lovely courtyard and pool, the Baan Klang Wiang offers comfortable rooms and breakfast cooked to order in a charming setting and only a 100m walk from the moat/canal that encloses the old city and an amazing array of street food vendors in the evening. This is THE PLACE TO STAY in Chiang Mai! ⛩🏯🙏🏼☺️

first four nights of our honeymoon”
Baan Klang Wiang is an amazing small boutique hotel. The staff are attentive and friendly, and the breakfast is the most delicious we had in thailand. The hotel is located on the southeast side of the old city, in a quieter neighborhood with a lovely wat, away from the madness of the night market, but still in walking distance to everything. There is a beautifully tended courtyard garden (the orchids are incredible) and a lovely plunge pool, which we loved returning to after a long day of sightseeing. Thanks you to the staff at Biang Klang Wiang for making the first leg of our honeymoon so special.

One of my favorite hotels in the world.”
This was my second stay at Baan Klang Wiang and I wish I could simply move in and stay forever. The staff really take care of you, room decor is luxurious but tasteful, breakfast is really good. I like being close to Chiang Mai gate, you can get a great dinner at the night market there for a dollar or two. The small khao soi place just across the moat, sort of hidden by trees, is an inexpensive gem, too. (No English sign in front, but menu is in English). I hope to return to Baan Klang Wiang soon.

Beautiful and charming boutique hotel”
i would highly recommend a stay at the baan klang wiang hotel. it is fairly centrally located in the old city-only a 10 minute walk to the more touristy parts of town. the hotel has only 10 rooms and it exudes charm. the staff takes great care to please their guests. breakfast is served every morning downstairs in their beautiful garden and pool area. the rooms themselves are a good size as are the bathrooms. my next trip to chiang mai i will definitely be going back!

Quiet and relaxing”
If you’re looking for a hotel with lots of action and excitement, room service etc., this is not the place for you. However, if you want a lovely, peaceful and relaxing place to stay, I definitely recommend Baan Klang Wiang. The breakfast was great and very filling, the room was spacious and beautifully decorated and the staff were super friendly. The only one downside for some people who like the sun is that the pool doesn’t get direct sunlight. It is beautiful, however, to read a book in the shade by the pool and Chiang Mai weather is warm without the sun!

Can't say enough...”
All the 5-star reviews are correct. Believe me. I don't have enough words for what a great paradise Baan Klang Wiang is. Relaxing, welcoming, tropical, friendly, not to mention clean and well-priced for all that you get. One of my favorite hotels that I've ever stayed in. Perfect to come home to after long hot days of exploring the wonders of Chiang Mai. If you're even thinking about staying here, just do it, you'll be happy you did.

Hidden Gem, Beautiful accommodations & staff!”
After a few nights in Bangkok, Baan Wiang Klang was exactly what we needed upon arriving in Chiang Mai! This upscale boutique guest house is quaint and charming. Beautifully updated and decorated with traditional Thai decor, but not too modern, maintaining an exotic and authentic vibe. The open air atrium/lobby with pool was peaceful and a respite from the heat and city bustle. The rooms were clean, spacious, and as lovely as the main area of the facility. The staff could not have been sweeter or more helpful. Breakfast each morning was served to time specified in the atrium, pool area. Customized options from traditional Thai, northern Thai, or American breakfast each large services and delicious. The one con for us was location as we prefer to be a bit closer to restaurants and shops. Do not let this deter you, 5 min walk and you're in a great area or rent a motor bike and your golden! Highly recommend :)

A beautiful, relaxing boutique hotel.”
I stayed for three nights in Baan Klang Wiang, and was really sad to leave, would have loved to have stayed longer. The hotel is situated down a quiet road. The rooms are beautiful and elegant, only 10 rooms so quiet and peaceful. There is lovely attention to detail and beautiful thai furnishings. The rooms are spotlessly clean, with big beds and lovely teak floors, and wet room shower rooms. Myself and friend had adjoining rooms which opened out onto the lovely courtyard garden where breakfast was served. The staff were utterly charming and tried to make us as welcome and comfortable as possible, nothing was too much trouble. They also arranged a lovely driver Mr Piripat who was also charming and very reasonable to take us to the places we wanted to go each day. He charged a daily rate and waited everywhere we went with great patience. He spoke a little english, but made good suggestions of where we might go to eat etc. I would love to stay at this hotel again one day, and I sincerely hope it does well.

value for money. I will stay next times. ”
I stayed here two nights in Baan Klang Wiang and i one nigt in Anatara. Chiang Mai. I prefer Baan Klang Wiang. It is a little hotel well maintained and very clean. Only one thing is the location not very convenient, it reflected in the price.
