super nice and lovely staff, they are helping you with everything! really close to the khlong khon beach you can walk there in less than 3 minutes. they are so well caring about everything is clean in the hostel and that you feel more as comfy. beds are cosy, showers are hot and there are not many dorms so you feel not disturbed. opportunity to book tours, renting a motorbike and everything. i stayed here 2 times and it will not be my last time here. one of the best hostel i have ever stayed!

If you are looking for a great budget room this option is awesome. Staff and other residents were super friendly and knowledgeable. "E" (don't know how to spell his name) the owner of the place also showed us a nice beautiful private beach about 10 minutes walk away, and drove us there himself. This guy could basically get you anything you wanted or hook anything up for you. Other than that, even though it's the guest house you are still able to go to the Blue Andaman resort and use the pool and all facilities they can because it's owned by the same people. So you get a cheap room with the facilities of an expensive one. Danny's Restaurant and the beach are 2 min walking distance away and the restaurant had cheap really good food. and a large variety, Thai - western - even mexican. One last note: Splurge for the air conditioning in this place though. We didn't and our room was a sauna during the day and we had a hard time cooling it off at night. Cleanliness was only given three stars because they don't clean your room each day like hotels. Didn't bother us much but thought I'd mention it.

Firstly, as someone backpacking for year, this is genuinely one of the best places we've stayed so far! It's in a great location to some amazing beach areas with superb bars and restaurants, and with the scooter that's given to you venturing further is a simple option too. Value for money wise this is undoubtedly one of the best prices I've seen here. The food is also very good, there's a cool bar and the owners are super helpful. I would recommend this place very highly for anyone really but especially budget travelers

I stayed in mix dorm for 6. Actually, room had more like 10 beds (mattresses on floor), but there were average 4 guest staying when I was there (February 2016) - maximum number was 8, minimum 3. However it is not much of the problem, as room is like 100 m2. Dorm was mainly female (other room for male guests). Hostel/hotel is family run, friendly staff. There are good matresses and bad matresses (check that you take the bed which is made of one solid matress, not 2 pieces). Room cleanness could have been better, as usually it was just whipped from the general area, but never near the beds. Also even in case towels were changed almost every day, never the bed sheets (if I stay 11 days, I could appreciate new sheets couple of times - well anyway I changed them myself, taking from another bed :)). There is always free water in fridge, which was very nice. Beach is like 3 minutes away, best place to swim in low tide (only place you can, if you go straight from hostel to beach). Shower had hot water, and wifi worked 90 % of the time which is good result. I would not recommend restaurant next to hotel for food, there are better places nearby. For Western food there is Peak cafe across the road and for local food check out "Three sisters" 100 towards south. The best food in the are is at Sonya's, about 5-10 minute walk towards south.

My girlfriend and I had planned a trip to come to Koh Lanta during smoky season in Chiang Mai. We planned to be in Koh Lanta for a month, thinking we would just stay here a few days and then find an apartment or something that we could rent. It turns out that we really liked this initial place. - The location is quiet, - the rooms have air-conditioning (unless you get the cheaper bungalow, I think), - the rooms are colorful and spacious - hot shower - the Wi-Fi is plenty fast. - you can easily walk to the beach (though closest beaches are rocky, can't really swim at, - there's good restaurants closeby, - there's a 7/11 just a 10 minute walk away - staff very friendly and welcoming I really like this place and would recommend it for people who like a more quiet, secluded place to stay.

It was almost as we arrived at Peace Lanta Hotel we extended our stay by a week. The rooms are so clean and comfortable, and the location of the hotel is a 30 second walk to Danny's (best pad thai and fried rice in Koh Lanta), a 7/11 and all other neccesities, and 2 minute walk to the beach. Despite how perfect and affordable the hotel is, the real winner for us was the owner, his wife and the staff. They are the most welcoming and hospitable people we have met along our travels. They often invite you to eat meals with them, or play cards or a game of pool. The owner also gives the best service and prices on island tours or ferries to other Islands. He also let's you know the best spots to visit on a scooter (which you hire from the hotel). The atmosphere is so welcoming and perfect for any kind of traveller, young and old. I would recommend this place to anyone and we'll definitely be back. Thank you Won and Peace Lanta Mansion.

When booking a room for around $20/night, you expect to stay in a hole, but this place was AWESOME. After traveling for a month and a half we got pretty used to being disappointed but this was a highlight. The rooms are nice and the a/c works really well. The bathrooms and showers were fine, and the facilities were worth way more than we paid. There are 3 swimming pools, and it’s all right on a beautiful beach with the best sunset. The chill lounge bar is very bohemian with really great drinks and smoothies. You can book all your tours through them, or just step off the property and rent scooters for $3/day, and get one of the best meals at a tiny little restaurant called “Danny’s” owned and operated by shirtless Danny who is friendly and generous. The food was amazing and super cheap (40 baht). We extended our trip 2 more nights because we enjoyed it so much. We are still talking about going back.

We stayed here for 3 nights after taking in a week of quiet jungle time. It's so close to Klong Khong Beach you can smell the ocean in the air. This beach is more of the party zone rather than fancy villas/resorts like other beaches, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a specific good time. We stayed in an air con bungalow, was not the Ritz but did it's job well for us. Right next to the bungalow was a communal kitchen for 24 hour use to guests, with markets and stores within walking distance to buy your own food for cooking. They offered scooter rentals, we had major problems with that. The company they rented through gave us a scooter with a bad wheel (the wheel had a spoke that kept puncturing the o-ring, hence flat tire two times in a row.) We wound up leaving the scooter parked on the side of the road and walked back to the property and handed in the keys the same day we rented the scooter. They were kind enough to take care of everything, despite the contract we signed saying that we were responsible for anything with the scooter. They refunded us the $250 baht we payed to rent it, plus what we payed ourselves to get the tire fixed the first time it happened (150 baht) They didn't have to do that, but they did and that was very kind of them during extreme circumstances. It seemed like everyone else riding scooters there were not having issues, so I think we were just having unfortunate luck. For the price (so much cheaper than far far worse options out there) is worth the stay. If you stay away from restaurants on the beach, you can find cheaper better ones just down the road from this property of the main drag. Great location if this is the area of videos you're looking for. (FlinStoned Bar is a 5 minute walk away down the beach, didn't go for the cocktails on the menu ;) Also, this property offers all sorts of tours and good prices, taxi service, destination out of Koh Lanta... Might be worth going through them and save yourself a few doll

We enjoyed our trip there a lot. The staff was extremly friendly and the bungalows are directly at the beach. Our bungalow was very simple but nice and cheap. There are a lot of good restautants nearby. The time we have been there the 7/11 was closed and the next one was pretty far away. But that was the only thing we didn`t like. We can definitely recommend staying there.

pros: best location, across the street from Danny’s restaurant (you MUST go), you can use the pool and resort amenities from Blue Andaman (1 m walk) cons: fan room is MISERABLE - the rooms are made of gray concrete and are very small, so i‎t heats up very quickly and stays hot. i wish we had spent the extra money on AC room. the wifi is shit & slow, really frustrating. the last con is that the host is VERY pushy with you either A) staying more nights or B) buying your transportation to the next place from her. both of those means she wants more money from you, which is fair and i understand she is running a business, but she is so pushy about i‎t. we couldn’t walk to or from our room without her constantly asking for more money. one time she even opened our door and came into the room to ask! maybe it’s a cultural thing, but i found i‎t quite off putting. all in all, it’s a pretty good place to stay for cheap & great location. wasn’t the worst stay, but also wasn’t the best.

nothing fancy, has about 10 small, clean, no-frills bamboo huts (adorable!) with access to shared bathrooms/showers, and a handful of full sized villa suites with A/C and private bathrooms. the property is located right on the beach (!!!) at the south end of all the bars in Klong Khong, so its quiet, private, and very convenient for a night out on the beach.. Also only about a 5 min walk to town and 7-11. The staff/family here was wonderful. Very nice, welcoming and helpful. Also spoke very good english and all smiles! Their food was delicious, they arranged the best priced motorbike I could find, and even had a detailed bike map of the island available which was quite helpful. I dont normally write reviews, but felt A&J deserve to get one here. Really made my stay in Koh Lanta special and one to remember. I would love to come back and stay with them again.

I was here from 5/2 to 9/2.One thing I can say is that the customers are requested to pay all by cash..also the hotel..also if by the web site (Booking,Agoda)you must to show your credit card for pre booking..sure.One hotel must to have sure the choice to pay by credit card and must to have the pos machine..can not say "that is broken.."because it's not true..Anyway for the rest it was a good stay.The room with aircon was good also if from my request I ask for clean the room..but they cleaned the room..but not the toilette. .The restaurant/kitchen is good..but some international dishes are not good..same the "pasta/spaghetti"that doesn 't taste nothing..really.The garden is nice with a lot of cats..duck..and so on..that make you feel..relaxed.The staff from the bar is funny.The ladies staff from massage are very polite and friendly..especially Nam!!the beach is very beautiful and the atmosphere in the night is fantastic.So I choose this place because very relaxing..Nice stay Max

I've stayed at Sonya 3 times now and it's better than ever! They have very comfortable (and affordable) concrete little "houses" (I don't want to say bungalow cause they're nicer than that), and absolutely amazing food and smoothies in their restaurant. Location is fantastic as you can walk 1 minute to Monkey Bar or any of the other beach bars and restaurants on Klong Khong Beach. I always rent my motorbike from them as well, and have never had an issue (which I hear is common on Koh Lanta with bike rental places). I will definitely be staying again next time I visit Lanta, as I think they're the best value for money and I always have a fantastic time here. The only suggestion -- the rooms do get very hot because of the sun since they're just little houses -- totally worth it to spend the few extra bucks and get an AC room. Otherwise, just make sure you open the windows during the day to let the hot air out and you can comfortably sleep with the fan. Thanks for a great stay!

The bamboo bungalow is very basic and we paid less for better ones. There we massive holes in the floor and lots of insects. We found what looked like fleas in our bed. The mosquito net protects from mosquitos, cockroaches (there we a few) etc but not fleas. The other rooms - in actual solid buildings - should be better. The pool is great and has a small section for younger children which was fantastic. The staff were very unfriendly and the food at the resort restaurant disappointing. The location is ok if you like Klong Khong and there's a great cheap and cheerful restaurant (Danny's or similar) on the small road leading to the Blue Andaman - recommended! We left after 2 nights to a bungalow in the much quieter and family friendlier Klong Nin beach further south.

originally booked in for 3 nights and extended it to 5. the room was clean and comfortable with fresh water and towels each day. everywhere around this area feels very family-run and easy going. we loved having access to the pool (swimming on klong khong beach isn't the best) and the bar in site was great. a long the beach and the road are loads of restaurants with 2 shops within seconds of your front door. there is a lovely seating area at each room which is great for relaxing and chatting to others. the owner collected us from the pier at no extra charge. would love to go back here it was the perfect way to spend a relaxing few days.

We stayed a couple of nights, extremely our stay after finding out that this is the best deal for what we were looking for (Concrete bungalow on the beach front with private bath and pool access). The beach is Rocky, but you can walk to Long Beach. The pool is located next door at Green Garden's more expensive units, but you still get access. Wifi was weak in our room but worked in the restaurant by the beach.

I had booked the standard room for 3 nights, but when we arrived, we changed to the beach view bungalow paying a bit more and that one was lovely, we stayed 8 nights. The standard rooms would have been too dark for my taste, offering too little privacy since it is two buildings that face each other with just a few meters distance, their big but only windows also facing each other with the path in between. The beach front and bamboo bungalows however are lovely! Everything was very clean when we arrived. There was no cleaning during our stay, but sure if we had asked for it, they would have done it. The staff was a family of women only, super friendly and lovely! A bit off the beach strip with restaurants and bars (10 mins beach walk) and therefore very calm. Not the best beach for swimming (rocky water in low tide). Breakfast okay, for dinner we went to the other restaurants cause the lighting in this retreat is not very cozy (neon lights) but I heard the food is good.

I stayed here for 5 nights with my partner in Januari. As budget travellers we choose the cheapest bungalow. It was ok, I mean, you get what you pay for and in Koh Lanta this was one of the cheapest places that had access to the beach. So yes, location wise this place is great. But I wouldn't recommend you going here if you plan to spend a lot of time indoors (the room was pretty dark and we found a few cockroaches). But you definitely won't want to stay inside anyway. Khong klong beach is perfect for a day or so, morning swim etc but for a full day on the beach I'd recommend you renting a scooter (200bath/day) and go to some of the other beaches on the island.

We really enjoyed staying at the Emerald. It is located right by the Klong Khong beach, which is a bit rocky, but at high tide, swimming is no problem. The beach itself is beautiful, with restaurants and massage places along the coast. The pool area is ok but can be crowded. Breakfast is ok. We loved having dinner at the hotel restaurant, great food and lovely view, placed right by the beach. The restaurant service is neither good or bad (at bit "manana")but ok. The bar beside the restaurant plays great music. The people working at the hotel are nice. Room standards are ok but we had ants in the room (no big issue though).

I have stayed here many times. I really like Baan Klong Kong for the beach, which is relatively unencumbered by rock like others on Koh Lanta can be. The area is not badly congested even at high season. Arena Bungalows are set back about 100 meters from the beach in a well tended glade of palm trees. Quite pleasant. Plenty of restaurants and 7/11 close by. I recommend their aircon units as they are in good condition, clean, with hot water. The fan bungalows are dated, could use paint inside and have cold water showers. There are also some bamboo huts which appear to be pretty good inside, for budget travellers. There is food on site and laundry is prompt. I recommend Lanta Arena bungalows.

I had done a lot of research before my trip & the reviews from past travellers were outstanding. From the minute I arrived Mi Mi the receptionist could not have been more friendly & helpful. There are a small cluster of individual bungalows in immaculate gardens, literally a few steps from the beach. The accommodation was spotless & so comfortable, even with your own hammock on the balcony for relaxing. The bed was so comfortable & everywhere was cleaned every day. The breakfasts in the small cafe were delicious cooked by Da who went out of her way to help. There is the Blue Bay Bar right on the beach to get snacks & drinks & a great BBQ. The beach was lovely & quiet & although quite Rocky ideal for a quick dip to cool off. Going in low season it was very quiet with few places closed but it was so relaxing. Mi mi arranged for a taxi to show me around the island & a must see is the National Park at the bottom of the island, stunning. An outstanding stay 10/10 thank you 😊

This small and friendly resort is a credit to it’s new owners Craig And Mod. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Towels, toiletries provided (Even a bag with beach towels!) The breakfasts made by Craig are amazing full English breakfast and very good value. Craig and Mod did everything to make my stay enjoyable including arranging airport pick up and motorbike hire. As well as giving advice on the best restaurants and bars to watch the amazing sunsets! They also organise island trips etc. Nothing was too much trouble. The location is perfect. Only 4minutes walk to a beautiful beach with some lovely quirky bars selling fantastic food and Happy Hour cocktails. A few minutes walk from 7eleven for any needed supplies. I wished I could have stayed longer but they were unfortunately fully booked! I will definitely return!
