Excellent place to stay on Ko Samed”
We recently stayed on Ko Samed at the Baan Ploy Sea after we where let down by the weather in Koh Samui and we found this little Gem ! We have read many reviews on this Hotel and quite frankly couldn't understand some of the reviews YES the staff don't speak the best best English and understand well BUT do you speak Thai ? The food in the restaurant was amazing and some of the best I have not only in eaten in Thailand but on my many stays around the world everything was fresh and was piping hot both in heat and from ingredients! Breakfast was very good the selection of freshly prepared eggs how you liked them was spot on as for the staff they where so helpful and I would like to say that ALL the staff where a great example to how staff should be trained at a resort! The area was spot on you where only 500 metres from their private pier and beach in front of the hotel was stunning if you needed or wanted to go into the town or down further onto the other beaches you could hire a scooter for 300Baht or get a taxi for 200baht one way either where great fun and highly recommened ! Overall if you are looking for a hotel on a small island with a private beach you have found it !!!!!
Excellent”
Baan Ploy Sea is a small resort located on a white sand beach away from the more touristy beaches further south. The downside is that dining options are limited, but the hotel restaurant serves good reasonably priced food on the beach. The room was very comfortable with the wifi, cleanliness, quiet all adding to a great holiday. The resort's own ferry docks about 50 metres away. The main town is about a ten minute walk from the hotel and other beaches are also nearby. There is also a taxi stand adjacent to the ferry wharf, along with a motorbike hire, local shop and sightseeing boats. I would recommend this resort to anyone whose priority is for a quiet but scenic location by a beach.
Island is Island”
We went to Baan ploy sea during Thai new year festival with my sister. Resort locate at Ao Wai in Samet Island, Rayong Province. The service since Baan Pe harbour was quite good, they provided us the enough parking lot. After we arrived Baan ploy Sea, it seems like the heaven which had the modern decoration, Sea view in each room (you could see the sun rise and sun set as same) and clean. One thing that I don't like, we could not swim in front of the beach due to there were many merchant ship, ferryboat then the sea around there which was not clean.therefore if you wanted to swim or play the sea, you had to go to another Ao
Quiet Resort”
We stayed a night at Baan Ploy Sea, as a transit for our journey to Koh Kood. It's located in a quiet beach and travelling to Sai Kaew beach required a THB200 taxi ride. Once checked in, nothing much to do, except sunbathing by the beautiful pool or beach. Love the design of its resort - the room is spacious and tasteful. The breakfast was superb. We did most of our activities (dinner, fire show watch, massage) out of Baan Ploy Sea.
Nice resort for chilling and dining”
We had a short 3-night visit with my wife at week 7 2014. It was first time at Koh Samet (or any island at Thailand for that matter) for both of us so I was little concerned in advance about several things as I didn't know exactly what to expect. But everything went smooth since the ferry trip to the island, there was a friendly guy from the resort taking care of our luggage (he also took our luggage back to the ferry when we leaved). Resort was not at the main beach which was a good thing after all, resort's own beach was quite small and it was also quiet and peaceful - not a single vendor offering services or stuff... However the walk to the main beach is not more than 15min if you miss more action. The restaurant at Baan Ploy was good as well, there was mainly oriental foods but they asked you always if you wanted yours spice or not.
Very convenience place to go, small and private”
It’s my second time to go this place. It changed my attitude my attitude from previous time I go Samed which were not so easy, but Baan Ploy Sea makes the traveling to Koh Samed to be very easy, safe and sound. The location itself is very nice, beach is good (not that top rank for swimming in the ocean but for view). Food is expensive and not really special for me. I got the room without sea view which is the worst part of this trip. No one informed that before and the first time I went I got the downstair room which I love. Anyway I will go again :)
great place for a short stay”
we had a relaxing weekend at the Baan Ploy Sea and didn't even mind the rain. The ocean view made up for the weather. we were unlucky with the first room they put us in; for some unidentified reason the smell in the room was anything but fresh. however, they put us in another room the next day and all was fine. all the wooden elements of the hotel gives it a natural and harmonious touch. no taxi required to get to the nearby restaurants or the pier. we were not impressed with the food in the restaurant, even though the restaurant itself is nice and the service was good. overall the place may be a bit pricey, but if you don't have much time and just want to relax for a couple of days, it's probably worth it.
nice relaxed few days”
The hotel is situated on a very quiet small beach, away from the main tourist area. THe scenery is beautiful, quiet, ideal to relax. During the whole day we had the sea, the pool and the loungers to ourselves as the other clients left the hotel in the morning and only came back in the evening. The sea view room was perfect, but the air con was very loud. The only downfall was the restaurant, food was ok but waiters repeatedly forgot our orders, some orders took so long half the family had finished eating before the others were served, and the prices were high due to the lack of competition. To finish, the hotel has its own ferry and they allowed us late check out at no extra charge because we wanted to take the last ferry. Overall I very much enjoyed my stay here and would book this hotel again.
Clean, quiet hotel in natural Ecolodge-Style”
The hotel is located outside the busy main area, i recommend rent a motorbike to explore the island and go wine&dining with our loved one at the mainbeach, 5 minutes with the bike away. Restaurant is located 200m out in the sea, a boat gets you there. Plenty of fish to feed just below your glass-table. Nice feature! The orange Pool is lovely. Nice contrast to the blue sea just 10 meters away. All in all nice stay, rooms super clean and cozy. For me, beeing a bit of a "party-traveller" maybe a bit to quiet. Staff super friendly!!! All in all i enjoyed the stay but will stick to the younger crowd in the (also much cheaper) beach bungalows on the main strip again when back on samet. Not the fault of the hotel just my personal taste. Definetly highly recommended for relaxation, honeymoon and some romantic stuff.
Beautiful secluded stay in gorgeous boutique hotel”
A beautiful beach boutique hotel providing uninterrupted views of the ocean. This hotel literally places you directly on a private beach giving real intimacy and privacy. The hotel is very small only having 16 rooms meaning service is intimate and is never crowded. The beach is literally 20 steps from your room passing the desktop pool and jacuzzi. The only downsides was our visit was early December and they were still building the new restaurant and were working day and night to complete. We didn't really miss the actual restaurant as food was still available and to be honest we ate elsewhere on the island finding little seafood restaurants, but hopefully it will be finished by mid-January meaning it's another string to the hotel's bow. However, we can thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet secluded getaway to just relax and absorb the sun and the sea.
Exceptional”
hotel offer the free shuttle ship from Ao pier port to Koh samed. 3 minutes walking from port to Hotel. 1.6 km to main beach. Quite and nice view.
Great hotel right on the beach”
This hotel is perfect if you want to chill and swim in the sea, Its a bit outside of the small street on Koh samet so its quiet but still in walking distance to bars and restaurants.
beautiful place enjoyable stay”
Overall stay was enjoyable.. Didn't have much time to spend in the room though. Restaurant used to be on the sea but the thai government has banned that so it's now next to the hotel. Great food served there. Beach is quiet as it's not at sai kaew beach. Good for couples who wants a quiet stay and yet able to access the great fireshow etc at sai kaew beach easily accessed with a motorcycle or atv
Nice hotel, far from main beach”
My bf and I stayed in a deluxe room with view of the ocean. The hotel itself is very nice and the room is large and comfortable. However, the location was not ideal, as it is kind of far from the main beach in Koh Samed. It can take 20 minutes to walk there. There are "taxis" but we thought they were expensive. At least the prices they offered us. We should have asked hotel staff how much we were meant to pay for the trip. The hotel has a beach right next to it, but this one is not particularly nice. In any case, our stay was overall very pleasant.
Nice hotel but a bit far”
We stayed 2 nights at Bann ploy sea, very nice view as the sea is facing the room. If you are looking for quiet environment to relax at the beach, this hotel will be a good choice. The only complaints for me is that the hotel is too far away from the town centre where all the shops and restaurants are.
Quiet Resort on the Beach ”
Ban Ploy Sea is small hotel on the quiet beach of Samed. Not much facilities but the service is goods. Having the meals on "water dining room" is enjoy not only good view but also nice food.
Cosy and away from the crowd from the main beach.”
We brought our baby boy to the hotel and stayed in the deluxe room on the 2nd floor. The hotel provided a cot and that was helpful. Room was clean with a big comfortable bed. View of the beach and equipped with rain shower in the bathroom. The walls are not sound proof so you might hear the neighbours' conversation. Since we were with a baby, we had to keep that in mind when we play with the baby. TV channels were mostly in Thai and the only English program we got was Star News Asia and V Channel. But if you are on an island, why watch TV right? Restaurant was good. Breakfast was a little small but ok if you are ok with bread, pastries and spreads. Some Thai options but my husband would have preferred a bigger buffet spread. Room service was also good from the restaurant. Though communicating in English might be a problem for some staff. The town is 200baht per way but we stayed in our resort most of the time. We were made to pay the compulsory Gala Dinner for New Year. Not really our favorite activity since we have a baby with us. We left earlier than the scheduled taxi. The beach is lovely. Not crowded. We found some shards of glass so be careful when you walk barefoot. Overall a good stay since we stayed 4 nights instead of our planned 2 nights. Thank you to all the staff. We will be back soon.
one of the best option.”
Hotel is new, clean, lovely design and convenient to go to town. it was isolated from another hotels as it located on a small clean beach call Ao glang. Staff are friendly, polite. A strong recommend for couple! definitely we will go back!
Great hotel. Quiet and secluded. Staff very attentive. Can’t really find fault.”
We upgraded to one of the big sea front rooms. Great views over the sea. There were many Chinese families with kids which did spoil things a little but nothing too noisy.
服務很棒 Great Service”
People always have smile here, which is very cheerful and sincere. All u can eat breakfast was fantastic, fresh ingredients and fruits, amazing! Route from the main pier should take about 10min by foot, but OK for us, not that far. Also, could rent scooter nextdoor, very convenient, We could go to the main beach called Sai Kaew Beach, which is perfect for us! Over all, great experience in Koh Samed! : )
