                  Relaxing, beautiful and delightful”

                  peace & quiet, location, staff

Baan Rai Lanna Resort is a hidden gem. My 13 year old daughter and o are on holiday together and primarily planned on staying in Chiang Mai for the whole the weeks in Thailand. That all changed when we were looking online at hotels and Baan Rai came up. Although It was a bit far from the hub of Chiang Mai we were craving some relief from the noise and congestion of the city. We had rented a motorbike the day before so we decided to book and drive ourselves out there. From the minute we arrived that evening until the second that we left 2 days later, everything about our stay was perfect. The staff is absolutely delightful and attends to you personally, as though you were the only ones there. There are 6 other cabanas however, we thought wrr were the only ones staying at the resort until the next day because it was so quiet and peaceful. The infinity pool was amazing, the beds area comfortable and the food is delicious! If you have any special food needs the staff is more than happy to accommodate you. The manager, Apple is amazing and speaks excellent English. We love this place so much that we rebooked to stay again at the end our trip!

What the four seasons should be”

                  Nature, resort, peace

We visited the four seasons in Mae Rim which also has rice fields and rice barns and an infinity pool. Baan Rai Lanna is a twentieth of the cost and is set in real rainforest and much more idyllic. The staff were very helpful and the manager speaks excellent English. It is a little hard to find, look out for the sign and keep driving up a dirt track after the road ends, but worth visiting. Perfect for real peace and beautiful nature and surroundings.

Relaxing oasis outside the city ”

                  Rooms, pool, setting

This is a lovely resort tucked away from the bustle of the city. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes by motorbike to get to from Chiang Mai city and there are signs along the way. I absolutely loved the rooms: the attention to detail was superb, everything was clean, the draperies are gorgeous, beautiful tile floors throughout, bed was super comfy and the towels smelled like flowers! They really thought of everything. The rooms have their own balconies amidst the jungle foliage and you can sit, read a book and listen to the birds and the nature around you. The pool is also lovely with a view of the resort and gardens. There is a great waterfall nearby - Mak Fah, only about 7 minutes away on a motorbike. A great place for a relaxing time outside of Chiang Mai, I highly recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay at Baan Rai Lanna Resort. Leading up to our stay, we had been very busy. This place is just what we needed. There are no TVs and the internet is not good. It forced us to relax and focus on just us. There wasn't much to do and we were basically the only guests. The resort is what we needed for a quiet weekend away from our busy lives.

                  Wonderful resort among the nature”

                  Quite, relax and helpful staffs

It's lovely resort hidden in the hill. Not that far from the main road in case you have your own car. There's a sign at the entrance but a bit hard to see if you arrive at night. We booked 2 rooms for 5 people to relax during the weekend. The hotel itself is beautiful Lanna tradition style. The pool is quite deep for my friends who is only 150cm height and no pool for kids but it doesn't matter. Staffs are helpful and friendly. There's a problem with the electricity accident during the night I stayed. So, my friends and I weren't able to sleep in the room and had to move to sleep in another room. An old man staff was very helpful to fix the problem though it was midnight. (and of course it's an electric shot outside so he's not able to do anything ) Anyway, we enjoyed staying at the hotel and may recommend the hotel for friends who want to relax.

A little gem of a place”

                  Everything here was

We chose to stop over here for two nights on our self planned, self drive tour, on our way from Mai Hong Son to the Golden Triangle. Two issues made us a little dubious as to what we might find here; (a) the Agoda rating of only 7.1 at the time of our booking and (b) our knowledge from previous experiences that anything 'Eco' is often an excuse for providing sub standard accommodation at elevated prices. Our concern was totally unfounded. This is a gem of a place in the unspoilt countryside of North Thailand and at 7.1 on the 'Agoda' scale is grossly underrated. Sure, you are not going to find Starbucks or Macdonalds in close proximity and you are going to have to leave the major highway to get here. If these are important issues to you why do you chose to come here? The room we where given here was out of this world. Exceptionally equipped and superbly comfortable with a spacious, well furnished balcony. The view from both the room and the balcony (both very private) was out of this world and there are not many places where one can lay in bed in the morning, in perfect privacy and see, among many other species, a Racket Tailed Drongo, Little Spider Hunter and a Tickell's Blue Flycatcher before breakfast! The food here, although you choose from a quite limited menu, is exceptionally good, very reasonably priced and served up by very pleasant and at All in all, our stay here was much more than we dared hope, extremely comfortable, relaxing in extremely pleasant surroundings in the company of very attentive staff.

                  Such nice staff ”

We stayed here for one night on the way to Pai. We'ed been in a small car accident and the staff and manager were so kind and helpful - printing off documents etc. Not far from Nature elephant sanctuary where we had spent the day. This is a great option for somewhere to stay after seeing the elephants rather than go back to Chiang Mai.

                  quiet, clean, and spacious

Nice and quiet surroundings in the Mae Taeng's forest. It was far from the city of Chiang Mai, but would be a nice top over if you go to Pai.

                  Quiet and isolated”

Stayed here with my husband as we were finishing the Mae Hong Son loop on our bicycles. The rooms are clean but a bit dated. The bathroom was very clean and the shower and toilet were separate which was nice. The grounds are very quiet and relaxing. The bed was comfortable but we saw a few ants on the mattress under the sheet. But the resort is in the middle of the jungle so bugs are expected. The fridge was a bit dirty but was working. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There wasn't a hot water kettle in the room but we asked for one and they gave us the only one they had, which was very nice. The food at the restaurant was sub par so if you have transport I would suggest getting food and bringing it back to the resort to eat. Overall the stay was nice and quiet, which is what we were looking for but I won't pay full price.

Beautiful, slightly rustic oasis in the middle of picturesque countryside! Staff very friendly with little english but great sign language :) Food simple but fresh. A refreshing change from busy Chiang Mai and also a good overnight for cyclists. Lovely pool too!!

Beautiful place and scenery. We was in a group of 6 and had 2 young children, we was the only people at the resort so received top care from fantastic hosts. We would definitely go again only down side is it's about 50km from Chaing Mai but if you have a vehicle or don't mind avoiding people this is a perfect place to go.

                  Location, pool and staff friendliness

After two days of travel we were happy to have several days of rest. This small resort is about 45 kms out of Chiang Mai and is isolated. Would not suit disabled or family with small children. Resort staff helpful and friendly, clean rooms. The quiet open location on the side of a hill suited us fine. Short walk to small local village and highway to Pai.

Perfect either for peaceful relaxation in natural and beautiful surroundings, or for an overnight stay on the way from Chiangmai to Pai. You absolutely do need your own transportation to get there, and the track from route 1095 to the resort is difficult to find even though thr position on Google Maps is accurate. Their rooms have very comfortable beds, hot water, air-conditioning , mini-fridge - but no TV. Staff are exceptional. Ask for electric thermos. Excellent breakfast of scrambled eggs with plenty of toast. No brewed coffee.

Great Value, Comfortable bed, Quiet, Nature”

Comfortable bed, awesome infinity pool, beautiful gardens

Your own private bungalow with very comfy soft king size mattress - huge rooms with high ceiling. One window has a screen but the doors/other windows do not, so you have to be aware of bugs/mosquito since this is in the countryside. Beautiful designed gardens with an awesome infinity pool and view of the surrounding hills, this hotel is a great value for what you get. We felt spoiled here. The drive to the hotel is a bit bumpy, but if you keep an eye out, it is clearly signed. Breakfast, only one option (eggs with bacon and sausage), was a bit intense to have day after day, but we had our own muesli so that was ok. The fruit that came with it could be varied a bit - it was odd to be served apples, not really a native fruit or very interesting, would have preferred pineapple for example. The food at the restaurant was not bad, portions are quite large. All in all a great experience, very relaxing.

The staff will bend over backwards for you!”

Staff is outstanding! The peaceful setting is wonderfully relaxing! The pool is very nice.

Our daughter had a nasty cold and the staff was very concerned for her well fare. They could not have been more thoughtful or helpful. It is a small, family owned resort, so dinner had to be ordered at least two hours ahead of time. We requested a room with two beds to accommodate three adults and we're a bit disappointed that our daughter's bed consisted of a thin foam cushion on the floor. When we asked for a more substantial mattress or cot, they brought in another cushion to provide double the foam. We took a half day tour at a very reasonable rate and saw so.e of the attractions in the area. It was a very relaxing three days and the staff was wonderful.
