Great place for a short stay”
The Baan Saladaeng Boutique Guesthouse has a fantastic location with only a five minute walk to the Sala Daeng BTS and Pat Pong Markets at night. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Room was basic, a reasonable size but clean and comfortable. A basic hot breakfast was cooked fresh, there was also cereal, fruit, juice, tea and coffee which filled the spot. Definitely value for money.
Enjoyable short stay”
I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 night stay at Baan Saladaeng, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the Guesthouse is close to Silom Road but without the noise that goes with a property actually on Silom Road or right in the night life. It is very close to BTS and MRT. Only negatives I could say was the shower could have been a little warmer and the T.V. could have some international selection of Channels such as Nat. Geographic, Life, Fox etc., all that was available was Fashion Channel, a lot of Christian Religion shows and the variety of Thai TV, none of which appealed to me at all.
Will come back to this hotel again!”
We enjoyed our stay at Baan Saladaeng guest house! Perfect location esp if you're coming from Suvarnabhumi airport. There's a whole stretch of night market along Silom Ave in case you don't make it to Chatuchak (if you bargain hard enough you can get a better price here than Chatuchak on some common souvenirs). Staff were nice and polite. Will definitely stay here again. Really good place if you stay out 70% of the time (as you should, when in Bangkok!).
Lovely inn with good service and location”
Don't be put off by some of the less-than-positive online comments. Give this inn a try and you will be happy with your choice like I did. I came with a family of 4 adults and stayed in 2 rooms on the 2nd floor. These rooms are the smallest and cheapest in the inn, but nevertheless, they are of decent size and are bright and clean. We even noticed that they change the shower curtains almost daily during housekeeping, so thumbs up for that despite being just an inn! The breakfast selection is pretty standard with the usual ham/sausage and eggs, toast with jam, cereal with milk. However, I find myself looking forward to breakfast every morning. The food is fresh, properly/hygienically covered and neatly placed on the counter, making it look appetizing though its just simple fare. Ham/sausage and eggs is prepared upon request, so these will always be served piping hot (which is not the case in many hotels). I also love the staffs' absolute dedication to their work. They are always replenishing the food, topping up the juice (even though the jug is still 3/4 full), rearranging the plates and aligning the cutlery in the same direction. Hence its always a joy to have breakfast in the very cozy lounge, and watching the wonderful staff work. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Some of the speak excellent English though not everyone. Location wise, there is nothing much to complain about. The inn is within walking distance to both the BTS skytrain and the MRT. Overall, a very nice experience staying in Baan Saladaeng. Would recommend this to anyone who is not looking to stay in a hotel.
Good location and Friendly Service”
Other than my suite is located on the top floor with no lift it was perfect exercise for my kness climbing 72 flights of stairs at least twice a day. :) The staff are friendly and helpful. I was expecting documents to be delivered on Friday, unfortunately it did not arrived. The staff at Baan Saladaeng Boutique Guesthouse was on top of it by chasing and assisting to track the package even though it was a Saturday when the courier company is closed. When the package finally arrived, the staff immediately informed me that it has arrived (giving me a peace of mind that docuemnts have finally arrived) when I was out shopping. I applaud them for this. It was a pleasant stay and feel very much at home. I will return to Baan Saladaeng again when I next travel to Bangkok.
Great location but small rooms, quite area”
Whether you're coming to the city for holiday, leisure or pleasure, for a few days or for a few weeks, at Baan Saladaeng, always be right in the heart of it all. I find a quiet, cosy little soi, just off the tree-lined Soi Saladaeng. I've just a few minutes walk from the BTS skytrain (Saladaeng Station), the MRTA subway (Silom Station) and the entertainment and shopping district along the Silom Road. A guest rooms and suites each have a unique style. I choose the one that for budget. Thai people are famous for the gentle and generous way they care for our guests. When I stay with them, they will look after me. I've been welcoming guests back for the Baan Saladaeng. I love them. I hope you will too.
Unbeateable value for room, location & transport”
Great value for the price, room, location and service. I met young customers, couples and business travellers who stayed here demonstrating how popular this boutique hotel is! 5 mins walk to modern shopping, F&B, banks, BTS at SILOM COMPLEX. At night, enjoy night markets and Patpong by strolling along Silom. Jin Jin the hotel owner is friendly and speaks good english, always helpful in everything from booking taxi to info about Bangkok. I will certainly return and stay here for my future trips to Bangkok.
Nice hotel and frindly staff”
I stayed two nights at the Baan Saladaeng Guesthouse and was quite happy. Rooms are reasonably sized and th staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to Silom Road and its attractions. A few minor points are the fact that there is no elevator (O my room was on the 4th floor) and there aren't a lot of English channels. Other that that a nice place to stay.
Beautiful rooms, great service”
i booked the economy room here because the photos looked like the hotel had been designed well rather than thrown together. the hotel was 5 mins walk from the bts saladaeng station. my room was on the first floor and had been beautifully decorated. the photos did not do it justice. there was air con, tv, safe, wardrobe, free wi-fi, tea and coffee making facilities, a table and chair for working and a lovely seating area with a another table.the service here was very good. when i arrived i was told that breakfast was served between 8-10am. as i was there on business, i told them i had to leave earlier. they said breakfast would be started earlier for me, and it was. breakfast was tea, coffee, juice, toast, fresh fruit, cornflakes, eggs and sausage. when i was shown my room, i asked for the internet code, the receptionist ran downstairs to get it for me straight away. it's in a convenient location, i was able to get there very easily from the airport and to travel around the city. my only gripe is that the room had a sky light near the bathroom, and light woke me early. i would stay again, but would bring an eye mask.
Low Season Prices offer Value. ”
Baan Saladaeng offers good value in low season. However, in high season I would recommend people shop around as the prices of quality 4-Star hotels nearby are tempting. Baan Saladaeng is a friendly place. The reception area is manned by a particularly customer-friendly gentleman called Bii. When I telephoned prior to booking to enquire if the suites offered microwave facilities Bii explained that whilst there is no microwave its ok for me to use the kitchen on the Ground Floor to warm food. On my first evening tired from travelling I popped a ready-made meal in the microwave on the Ground Floor. A second later a lady (the owner of Baan Saladaeng I am told) arrived to ask "can I help you". When I explained that I was using the microwave as previously agreed "before I booked" she was none too pleased & left me with the clear impression that my presence in the kitchen was unwelcome. It left a sour taste in my mouth. Anyway - thanks to the warmth & helpfulness of Bii - I tried to look past this at the excellent performance put on by the staff of this hotel & its cleanliness, quietness, location. Suites are spacious but dark. Some bright lighting could fix this. Wifi in low season was slow & I don't think the situation will improve in high-season unless technical issues are paid for & fixed by the hotel. Standard rooms are tiny. A steep flight of stairs to the upper floors is a killer. All in all I would stay at Baan Saladaeng in low season but go with a quality 4-Star place in a standard room come high season. I would also email in writing any 'arrangements' agreed with Baan Saladaeng so that the situation with the helpful staff & unhelpful owner does not repeat.
boutique guesthouse with a resort feel”
pros: - service is outstanding, personal and warm. whatever is possible they will do it for you. - breakfast is modest but adequate, incl fruit, eggs, fresh juice, cereal (oats would be better than cornflakes but i bring my own) - room (mine was the mediterranean) is on the rooftop (full of light) and includes a small outdoor terrace. like a resort, nothing fancy but waking up happy every day. - location: walking distance from both silom (saladaeng bts, or silom mrt) and sathorn roads. but count 10 mins. to get there, otherwise take a (motorbike) jockey. - price: very reasonable for the deal you get. cons: - no lift, so the top floor is 5 flights of stairs. but I don't mind, I was prepared and saw it as a good exercise. otherwise better request a lower floor room (different style, check website)
Located in heart of Silom”
i booked the economy room which is the black & white room. the drawings on the wall are badly drawn (not as what i expected from photos provided by hotel). everything was provided: bath towels, face towels, shampoo & bath gels, cotton buds and electric teapot. bath towels are changed daily. i'm not so sure about the bedsheet though. daily breakfast is the same everyday: eggs, ham, bacon, hotdog, fruits, cereal, coffee or tea. egg, ham, bacon and hotdog are served by request. others are buffet style. they serve great coffee! i had at least 3 cups in a morning. the receptionist(s) are very friendly and english-literate. they are very helpful and they help you with your luggage (this hotel has no lifts). it's near to bts saladaeng station, about 5 minutes walk from hotel. there's a lot for you to discover near saladaeng as there's 1 shopping complex there (the other one, silom complex was closed for renovation), 24-hours boots pharmacy & night market along the road. you can find t-shirts, dvds, souvenirs items, and even adult toys from the night market. do try their local food from the roadside food stalls! i used the bts a lot for my bangkok trip - to chatuchak market, central world, platinum wholesale & four-faced buddha (but i walked a lot as well too). next to the hotel, there's a morning market/food court. must visit as you can find cheaper stuffs and yummy foods there. the market is visited by the local thai people, so you can expect cheaper prices. silom area are popular with gays, and there's a lot of gay bars around, so don't be suprised if you saw gay couples and even gay dvds selling around.
Nice hotel and 10 mins walking distance to Silom Complex/BTS Saladaeng. 8 mins walking distance to Silom MRT. Just that the twin room is not too big but that is fine for both of us. If you have 3 person or you prefer bigger space you can choose those rooms at level 3. Anyway this hotel is highly recommended.
Great hotel in the center of Silom”
Great hotel in the center of Silom, Bangkok; very good location close to the Skytrain (BTS station Saladaeng) and metro (MRT station Silom); very friendly staff; clean rooms; nice breakfast
Quiet and friendly getaway from Bangkok's chaos”
Nice and quiet at the end of a dead-end street. Staff were great: friendly and helpful. Breakfast is simple Western style but good enough. Warnings: 1) no elevator so if you don't like flights of narrow steps, request a low floor (I had a high floor as that is what I wanted - escape the noise better). 2) If you want to pay by credit card at check out, there is a hefty extra % fee (think it was 5% or 7%?) - I didn't have enough cash on me so got hit. Not far from the night life and Silom Rd. Right next door is a delicious French (with a Thai touch) restaurant (degustation menu)....I got in without booking early in the week but by Thursday it was booked out. Great value for money at Baan Saladaeng.
ordinary hotel with but convinient”
Baan Saladaeng Boutique Guesthouse is furbished in a multiple storied residencial building located at a dead-end short vally, space are limited but with thoughful used and decorated, i like the little living area with transparent ceilling which allow sun lights to project into the room, that is the only thing i am amazed by this hotel...I love the breakfast as well.
Great location, clean, quiet rooms”
Will definately be staying here again. We had a great stay at baan saladaeng and would recommend to friends. We stayed in a budget room which was basic but had everything we needed. The staff were lovely too.
Great little hotel in good position”
was very pleased when arriving at the hotel. it is a small guest house rather than a hotel but that was fine by me. location is great, silom and the sala daeng bts is a 5 minute walk. room is clean and comfortable if just a little small. breakfast was a small help yourself affair with eggs/ham/sausage on offer as well. the only problem was on one day there was no room to sit as there is very limited space, not really a big deal for me personally but may affect others. the only real complaint would be the tv in the room, if i remember there were approx 26 channels and i literally could not find one to watch. there were at least 4 religious american type evangelical channels as well as lao/cambodian/thai local channels, please at least provide one film channel!
Comfortable place to stay!”
We have a good stay at Baan Saladaeng, we have 3 ppls, the room is big and the extra bed even is F.O.C..The staff is very friendly & polite and when we check out the staff help us to call taxi and give us many advice.
Nice hotel with friendly staff”
I stayed one night in Bangkok and Baan Saladaeng was a good choice. The staffis extremely friendly and helpful. I got a free room upgrade and the room was clean, large and nicely decorated. The free wifi worked well. Breakfast(included) is simple but adequate and fresh.
