A short trip away”

Headed down to Klaeng, Rayong for a couple of nights to get out of Bangkok. The location of the resort was quite nice, peaceful and quiet, with a pleasant setting. The facilities are showing signs of age and I'm sure it was quite a nice place when it was new. The rooms are nice enough, basic but what else do you really want from a hotel room that has an oceanfront setting?! Our complaint was more that each day, whilst we are sure the room was appropriately prepared it always felt that there was some sand in and on the bed. We didn't utilise the pool on this trip but both of the pools were very inviting and appeared very well maintained, not huge in size but they were never filled with people anyway so I would describe them as being just right for the setting. The view from the resort is quite nice, straight down and onto the beach where there are some lounge chairs to relax and share a few drinks and nibble on some snacks as the sun sets in the evening. Whilst it would appear there are some negative comments in the review, would I recommend others to stay there? Absolutely!

A surprisingly good Resort in an area yet discovered.”

We were looking to get away from the city and trying a new Thai beach area, so we decided to give "Rayong" a try? Bandara On the Sea looked very nice from the images on Agoda and was correctly priced, so we booked it for one night with the thought to move on if it did not meet our wants and needs. As it turned out we ended up staying three nights as the Resort met and exceeded everything we needed. Nice and quiet area of beach front, excellent rooms for size and cleanliness. Perfect for families and couples alike with a choice of two pools and direct access to the beach. If you are looking to get away from the world for a couple days or more - highly recommended.

This is not the first time my family and i stayed here. My bf parents came to visit us in Thailand and they stayed here while vacating on their own in Rayong. His mom was actually the one who requested to come back here as she loved it so much! The setting is very tranquil and beautiful. Long beach to walk on early morning and at sunset. Two swimming pools and a jacuzzi were just lovely! Very cozy style without the pretentiously overpamperred hotel-service. Staff managed to communicate in English well with the parents. At first i was afraid because ive seen some reviews on here writing bad about how the staff cant speak english, and i had to leave the parents there for a week! Turned out they just loved it! they even took a tour to the local market and restaurants. Definitely a come-back!

Service and location”

When booking for sea view, I thought I would get sea view but cottage style; however, it's located on the front building which a bit walking distance from beach and restaurant. The view quite nice even you pay slightly higher for the price. Recommend to stay in the cottage even it's garden view, easy to access to the beach from all cottages and you can still see beach when sitting in front of the cottage. Room actually not too small if you are coming 2 person with a child. Room set up for the front building is nice and cozy, similar to 5 stars hotel but older building. Very clean. Bathroom has full amenities so no need to bring additional. Swimming pool a bit small even has 2 pools compared to size of the hotel. No life guard but it's ok since not that deep nor big for the pools. Not many activities to do, so good for sitting on the beach and relax. Also not too far from good restaurants, drugs store or 7-11 but you need to drive. Beach in front of hotel is very clean compared to others around. Very clear water compared to other place in Rayong such as Ban Pae or Ban Chang. A bit drive from Ban Pae but no disappoint on the quality of the sea water here.

Bandara on Sea @ RaYong is probably on the super good location where my family and I could enjoyed the beach as we needed to, just a few steps from my room (pool villa beach front type). The staff were very nice and helpful. However, we discovered that some facilities were in very old and poor conditions, such as water for showering was running very poor and some doors on my room could not lock properly.

Good value for money in the area”

We enjoyed it. There was a group of people there one evening and they let them sing karaoke in the only restaurant they have. It was blaring. I asked to have it turned down as the restaurant is really long and open to the outdoors. We were at the opposite end as far as you could get from the stage and it was still blaring. One guy wasn’t all that bad ;), but the rest were not. You had to scream to have a conversation. It was only one evening though. The buffet was delicious. I like the pool and the beach was cleaned up. It was honestly the only small segment of beach not filled with styrofoam and other junk. They really need to manage that in Rayong. They had sand fleas around too. It was a great room. The bungalows were booked, but if we went back - we’d try to get one of them. Nice staff. They were more environmentally friendly in how they were setup than a lot of places in Thailand. Two thumbs up :).

located at rayong which is quite far from main tourist attractions. in the meantime the hotel got all you need and more. beachfront location, two swimming pools, attractive landscape, great restaurant. we really enjoyed staying with baan siri on the sea!!

Well located hotel on best beach in Rayong”

This is a very nice boutique hotel located on possibly one of the best beaches in Rayong. We booked a deluxe garden view room, which from the pictures in agoda indicated it was in a low 2 storey building. But when we got there, the room aircon was not working and all other rooms had been sold despite knowing this before. Their offered solution was to put me in a high building which I did not like. Otherwise I would have booked a room in the building. The receptionist kept insisting it was the same room type and after much debate, they finally agreed to put me on the 4th floor where I can see the sea. We enjoyed our 2 nights stay and despite the hassle I will be back because I like Rayong and the beach there. the only thing I have to say is that the hotel needs to update its pictures on agoda so as not to give the wrong impression to customers that they were booking X and eventually get Y. Breakfast is not great, but I forgive as the coffee is good.

July Break”

First 3 days in a 'cottage' at lowest price was disappointing as the room badly needed a make-over and repairs (hence the room comfort score of 3 above), but the layout and position near the sea and simple facilities were great. Situated between the Marriot and Novotel, it's bound to be a decent location. We extended our stay moving into a deluxe garden view which was obviously more expensive but absolutely lovely and really made our stay, so much so that we shall try visiting again in a couple of months and may also return next year with some of our family. The staff were delightful and really friendly all the time. Good points also included cleaning the beach & gardens, room service, providing bicycles, library, restaurant facing the sea and two swimming pools, although not brilliant for toddlers. A downside was the arrival of a works' holiday which overpowered the facilities with their excitement and noise. Nothing much to do immediately outside on the main road unless you take a taxi, cycle or like us have your own car, it's a lovely coastal area and still relatively unspoiled. Definitely worth trying if you like the Rayong/Ban Phe/Koh Samed area.

Very Pleasant Get-a-way”

Bandara was a very nice two day stay away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger tourist areas. It has a very private beach, with two smaller but well maintained swimming pools. The room was very clean, with a big comfortable bed, and all the usual amenities. Our room included both a roomy shower and a big bathtub. One downside was the water pressure wasn't the best, so it took a long time for the tub to fill, but otherwise was perfect. The free breakfast was buffet style and was quite adequate, with a staff person preparing eggs to however the guest wanted them. The strip of private beach was quite nice, although the beach to either side of the resort was not kept up to the same level of tidiness. The hotel staff was quite friendly and accommodating, but be aware that this resort caters mostly to Thai guests, and so English among the staff was a bit limited. Great service otherwise, as I was not permitted to go more then a few yards pulling my own suitcase before a staff person rushed in to carry it for me. The pools were both great, cool, clean and refreshing. For the serious swimmer however, neither were very deep, or overly large, but for just a refreshing swim, both were great. We had other meals besides breakfast in the restaurant, and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. We will definitely return again.

Cozy hotel with a nice beach”

baan siri on sea rayong is a good choice if you are looking for quiet holidays and you have a car. otherwise, it might be difficult to get outside the hotel to have dinner, for example. the room (sky suite) was spacious and clean with garden and partial sea view. breakfasts were ok, but nothing special. the main advantage of the hotel is a big beautiful beach.

A little paradise when you get the suite room.”

At first the hotel was hard to find. Poor signage and the reception never answered our calls. But once you get there, it's a little paradise in Rayong area. We had the suite room which was quite flashy. I would recommend to have the suite to make the most of your stay at this hotel. They have two swimming pools which are great for kids. On Saturday night we had a special BBQ night (they must do that every Saturday I guess) with scallops, crab, shells, fishes, etc...

A delightful break away from the city”

We enjoyed our stay at Bandara. The hotel had good facilities which were well maintained and serviced. Staff service was above average. The hotel was sited on a pleasant beach, and although an effort had been made to clear litter, it was only swept away as far as the high tide mark, an issue common to most Thai beaches. The restaurant met our needs. Breakfast was unexceptional, but the evening menu was comprehensive and of a very good standard. The only major drawback was the lack of transport services. One would really need a rental car to take advantage of the many nearby attractions. The hotel offers transfers to Bangkok and Suvanahbhum, but the price verges on the exorbitant. However, the location is a welcome change from the sleaze of Pattaya or the commercialism of Phuket. A day trip to Ko Samet is recommended.

Small private beach hotel ..”

Even it is a small hotel but it is very nice quiet with private beach and 2 swimming pools, very cozy. Room is clean with very well equipped amenities. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fair, tasty but not a lot of choices. There is only 1 restaurant in the resort but the food is nice, the price is not so expensive at all, just there are not a lot of menu choices to choose. I will definitely be repeat customer if i will be in Rayong.

A perfect Hotel at a perfect place”

We come here many times and will return again. Very nice Hotel at a beautiful beach. Everything perfect for us. We lovve Bandara on the Sea.

Great Hotel, Dirty Beach”

The hotel is nice, rooms are clean. Pool is good, but is full of loud children in the morning. The hotel is not near anything, to get to a 7/11 you have to take a taxi. The beach looks beautiful from a distance, but it is actually full of trash. Very disappointed by that. They pay someone to clean it every other day, but it isn't enough. This is a problem for most of Rayong. If you are just looking to veg out, order room service and use a pool, this is a good place.

A cute hotel for a short get away. ”

All in all we had a very good week at Bandara. The menu of the main restaurant is somewhat limited but there are many good thai restaurants at the beach nearby. Main down side of the area is that the beach is filthy. The hotel cleans it's part of the beach but left and right there is just so much dirt being washed ashore - a real pity as the beach in Klaeng could be so beautiful.

Time well spent on a weekend”

Bandara on Sea is a great place to stay for a quick and quiet getaway. Staffs were very friendly. We stayed in Deluxe sea view room and the view was fantastic. The room was spacious and clean. They have 2 pools, not that big but clean. The beach was close to perfect as it was clean and very calm. On the downside, the breakfast menu needs a significant change as it was very limited, some food labels were in Thai Language and the Tea tasted like coffee. Room service menu was also limited so we went out for Dinner. However, the lunch that we ordered from the restaurant was good.

Nice place”

Overall a nice stay at the Bandara. we came to do our pre-wedding photos and the hotel said we could use any parts of the hotel property at no additional charge [unusual in thailand]. we were upgraded on arrival and the room was nicely done out, if a little on the small side. there was an adjoining door to the room next door and it was a little noisy at times. one comment is that they should really fill in the small water features right outside the rooms as mosquitoes were a problem. the water features dont really look that great and are obviously a breeding ground for mossies. food was fairly standard, especially the breakfast, but thats to be expected at most hotels in thailand. drinks were cheaper than the novotel down the road and the beds way comfier. 2 good small pool areas and the beach was nice also. prefer this place to the novotel and would stay again.

Life on the beach”

ideally located resort with adequate facilities for the number of guests. two good-sized swimming pools with comfortable loungers and large parasols. the hotel beach was cleaned every morning and there was a designated safe swimming area. the hotel grounds were beautifully maintained. we stayed in the two-bedroomed pool villa which had a great beach and sea view. good thai food int he restaurant,reasonably priced,breakfast adequate and service was good.we are already thinking about a return trip to this great beach and hotel.
