Peaceful and beautiful!”
We have spent 6 lovely nights at this resort! It was perfect! The room was clean and organized with daily house keeping! Breakfast was yummy with a nice selection, freshly made eggs if your choice, as well as coffee. The resort’s pool and beach front is lovely and clean. The location is perfect for those who want to be close enough to the night life but far away to get a relaxing nights sleep! Restaurants near, 7/11 and family mart just across the road and laundry is a third of the price across the road compared to the resort! Thank you for a lovely week! ☺️

A beautiful resort right on the beach”
This resort is beautiful and perfect for beach lovers. The accommodation is very nice and well maintained. I have two main critiques- firstly, the breakfast was surprisingly poor and with a little effort could be so much better. Secondly, the resort is a little far from the nightlife in Chaweng.

Bäst på Chaweng”
Walking distance to the hustle bustle of Chaweng, but far away enough to be able to relax. Best strip of the beach and a nice remote feeling. A bit pricey, but thats what you have to pay for great coffee on the breakfast I guess.

Location spot on”
Location is amazing , right on beautiful beach , some parts of hotel need a bit of tlc, loungers at pool quite old and damaged and pool tiles round edge need cleaned. Breakfast is a bit of a free for all and some guests hygiene not the best ( picking up the cereal with hands from buffet) maybe have some hand sanitizer when entering, really only minor issues and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Clean Resort with beautiful Beach”
Pool and Beach/Ocean were awesome. Although the breakfast was nothing more than average, the restaurant menu and drinks were very good. Very dark bathrooms that wouldn’t cool down. The Garden doors let a lot of light through in the mornings even with the curtains fully shut. Hard beds.

Relaxing holiday”
I stayed at Baan Talay for 6 nights. It was a relaxing v place to stay, fantastic pool and beach front access. We had booked a pool view room, there isn’t really a view of the pool from the rooms closest to the pool as the pool is surrounded by a tall hedge We had to move to a garden room as there weren’t twin rooms near the pool We had breakfast included which was great, a mixture of western and Thai food, the restaurant was over looking the ocean which was s beautiful view to sit and eat by The staff were friendly and helpful

Great facilities and restaurant”
The room as well as the pool and restaurant were really nice. The hotel is a 20-30 minute walk away from the city centre. A huge con is that the woman on the reception did not understand basic english (i.e. „in the night“), which I consider a no-go when working in a hotel. Otherwise everything was good!

Great Value & New Modern Units”
I've stayed in many places in Samui but decided to try a new one based upon previous experiences of smelly bathrooms, power outages, mossie infestations & generally poorly maintained accommodation still charging a reasonable rate. Gave Baan Talay a try by accident because a friend had booked there also, but he thought he'd booked the place we used to stay - so ended up booking the same place becuase the rate was so good & wanted to steer away from the old haunts. So quite by accident I ended up here, and was hugely impressed with the units after entering through what seemed a very simple main lobby. The units were large, clean, contemporary with a great shower & no smells or dodgy plumbing. A slight lack of privacy as its straight on to the common pathway, but you just get used to nodding at passers by. Breakfast was the usual eggs of your choice, with bacon / sausages / fruit / cereals etc. Nothing exceptional but all you need. I'd go back tomorrow - they've really made an effort on this resort, not sat back charging the same rates for years on units that get don't get maintained. I went alone but the families hanging by the pool seemed to be well catered for, and the beach is 10 metres away. The location is a bit out of town (if town is what you want) and there's not much of interest nearby, but a 10 minute walk north & more shops & newer restaurants pop up. If it rains hard - it's going to flood outside Poppies next door to about 2 feet deep - so walk the beach way !! Unfortunately Samui (Chaweng especially) in the 15 years since the first time I went has expanded far faster than the infrastructure can cope with - Stick to the beaches & the main shopping drag (if that's what you like) - the rest of the town is a bit of a tip .... Made up for by Baan Talay being a good place to go back to, whack the aircon on & watch telly ....

Best hotel of our travels!”
We stayed at Baan Talay mid January as our last destination in Thailand after a months travelling around the south islands. The room we had was a garden view villa room and although we did not have a garden view we did not mind as you get all the views you need around the corner of the beach and sea! The pool was great and there was always enough sunbeds. The hotel is at the quieter end of Chaweng street which is good as it can get quite noisy there but we had no problem with noise at the hotel. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and their strawberry fruit shakes were the best i've had in Thailand! We got our room through a special offer for a very good price so we were very happy with our choice and actually asked to stay longer but the offer had ended and the increased price was not in our budget unfortunately, they did offer us a free upgrade to a beach front villa which would have been amazing though! Very much recommend Baan Talay!

Beautiful hotel! lovely pool, great room and staff”
i was travelling around thailand and stayed @ baan talay for 4 nights (a little more expensive than my usual accommodation as i have stayed in some dorms also). lovely rooms with comfy bed, spacious bathroom, fridge and tv with dvd player. breakfast had a lot of choice from fruit, cereal, toast, pastries and bacon and eggs (made to your choice). pool was stunning and you are only 30seconds from the main chaweng beach. it is about 10minutes walk to the main centre, but you are surrounded by shops and restaurants etc. and even as a solo traveller that did not bother me! couldn't fault it - would definitely go back alone, or with a friend / partner! i even tried to book it again for 1 night when i passed back through koh samui but it was fully booked. only minor negative was that the wifi sometimes disconnected

Cozy resort, beautiful beach”
we thoroughly enjoyed our five day stay at this resort. the beach was beautiful and the hotel was clean and comfortable. the ac works very well! the restaurant serves good food, but is overpriced as is most other restaurants in the area (that's just how is goes if you want to be in the area). the free breakfast had enough choices that we didn't get bored with the food. this is the first hotel we stayed at before moving to koh phangan and back to koh samui to a different beach and by far we found baan talay the best. would recommend to friends and family wishing to travel to the same area.

Beautiful Beach, Easy Access From Nice Pool”
Baan Talay Resort is very nice, our room was well taken care of and all things seemed to be in good condition. The cable package was pretty limited, however, and the wifi was terrible! Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, so we couldn't enjoy what the hotel has to offer, but that's just circumstance and no one's fault. It was a very nice stay, food and drinks on the main road within an easy walk, I just wish the hotel would upgrade their wifi and/or their cable package. As we were rained in a few days, there wasn't much entertainment.

Cosy, convenient & quiet”
I am glad i selected Baan Talay. The layout is not too big that you have to walk a kilometre to the other end of the hotel, especially on a holiday. It is small and nice with beach villas. The thing about staying in Koh Samui is that you must stay in a villa. Hotels are available everywhere around the world but Samui has plenty of nice villas that you can just jump out your door and walk down to the beach. Baan Talay is exactly like this. The single storey villas are around the swimming pool and after the pool, is the beach, so you can relax on the beach or at the pool. There are 2 deck chairs outside the villa and places to hang your swimming gear. The bed is very comfortable and they provide beach bags and towels. The only thing i did not like about my room was that the toilet door is made of glass and the morning sun from the toilets come through in the morning but if you are an early riser, this is fine. Breakfast was the same fare everyday but there are plenty of things to eat from down the road. Overall, as a beach traveller, i find this a nice place with a nice quiet end of the beach to relax.
